QUOTE(ericmaxman @ May 16 2011, 08:17 PM) Maybe I was lucky to hit a car, not a tree, curb, lamp post, drain etc yup if it tree or lamp post the impact more severe, today when to my sc saw a saga passenger side crash quite deep and front part reach engine.the body also bent already.Added on May 16, 2011, 8:18 pm Shell Helix 10W-40. Feels smoother. But there's still that sounds. Tak tak tak.... tak tak tak sound dunno tapet sound or the iafm problem,if appeared after using the shell oil than should be tapet if not iafm as far as i know.next service may be u can give eneos a try. |

Rm20 only (the cheapest at lyn) ![]() Added on May 18, 2011, 4:56 pm Most of the SC can bring ur own oil except cannot bring ur own oil filter. QUOTE(jerrymouse @ May 18 2011, 05:49 PM) so far i went to Yes Car care at puchong but they dont allow..i will try SC that "Pravred" mentioned, anyway what is the diff with 10w40 and 10w30 oil from eneos ya? i only know got 10w-40 and 5w-30 both semi-syn,the 5w-30 is lighter compared to 10w-40 but if u have used syntium 800 which is 15w-50 for long than the most suitable is 10w-40 cause the 5w-30 is too light and may cause tappet sound. Both are thinner oil compared to petronas syntium. This is the info i collected along this thread, hope i'm not wrong thinner oil gives good acceleration and fc.... QUOTE(jerrymouse @ May 19 2011, 01:12 PM) I check the sticker at the front screen there, it stated next change is 7k..so meaning it is semi-syn right? i think u can still change asap to thinner oil not too late i guess cause mine 35k redi......so i dare not change how much do 10w40 + filer cost normally ya? |

QUOTE(jerrymouse @ May 19 2011, 02:06 PM) ic ic ..so yr recommendation is 5w30 is it? once use that then need to maintain it forever ? or need to downgrade to thicker oil when the car is older? i think once more than 5 years need to downgrade to thicker oil.......actually i wanted to use 5w-30 but bro gagak advice me not to since i already use 15w-50 from start he said if u want to use 5w-30 need to start using after 1k service but i think if haven't really stressed your engine too much after 5k still can change to lighter engine oil.now i'm using 10w-40....no prob, may be u can give 5w-30 a try. i don't dare to use the lighter fuel cause i have stressed the engine alot. QUOTE(jerrymouse @ May 19 2011, 04:43 PM) ic ic..is 5w-30 consider as fully-syn oil? how much u bought 10w-40 and from where ya? 5w-30 still semi-syn,but from what i see many blm users say 5w-30 is too thin for blm and engine capacity is low as well,so i think it's a wise choice to stick with 10w-40,even with this grade i can feel the difference already the only thing now is i'm testing on suitable petrol,my car seems more powerful better pickup with petronas xtra, yesterday tried bhp car feels slightly less powered.if advisable to use 10w-40 then i will use it as long as it wont hurt the engine >< if not i would love to try lighter oil bcz can get better accelerate and fc This post has been edited by pravred: May 19 2011, 05:31 PM |

the voltage stabilizer actually does improve acceleration i noticed when i installed,it actually makes the engine
lighter(may be good combustion since all the electrical system is stable and the ecu gets and sends accurate signal) so at low rev you can feel slightly more power.Btw it also depends what which Voltage stabilizer you use,the Rm90-100 pivot etc i doubt gives much changes,i installed the one from ericteoh.more expensive but can really feel the difference. |

QUOTE(+Newbie+ @ May 20 2011, 02:42 PM) I soooooooooo want that CVT. bro blm has new wirings but the wirings are not sufficient enough to provide a good grounding(has been tested),since we pay less so the items used are also low in quality, yup you are right it protects electronics life as well as enhance the performance of it since proper stable voltage is being sent to the items. It would go a long way in improving the FC on our BLMs and FLs. There is absolutely no point in installing LED into your gear when you can just look at the gear indicator at your meter cluster panel. It's easier, more natural and safer. +1 The voltage stabilizer will not improve performance at all. Especially not on a new car with new wiring. It's only good for protecting your electronics from voltage fluctuations, thus prolonging electronics life. More likely what happened was that while installing the voltage stabilizer, he unplugged the battery for a very long time and wound up resetting the ECU. With a reset ECU, if you rev hard, you can train it to perform differently. Either that or your mechanic is telling you bollocks. Added on May 20, 2011, 2:49 pmomara86, they're 2 different cars. Yup when VS is installed there might be a chance of ecu reset but later on after self learning you can still see alot of changes from the VS.Most important car components are electronically/electrically related power steering,hu,light etc,so it does give a better result. |

QUOTE(ericmaxman @ May 21 2011, 11:47 AM) That's what gets me annoyed. Proton offering us lower spec cars compared to other markets. proton give them higher spec when other countries sell their car here they sell lower spec.....either way we always end up getting low spec Hmm, hopefully the Saga CVT changes that. |
