currently using 16gb class10.now regret d cause underutilized.shud just go for 8gb instead.now got around 9gb free with many2 gameloft games and 20+hd videos from utube inside... sweat.gif

QUOTE(king_kong @ Jun 7 2011, 06:50 PM)
thanks.

edited: ok, would like to share my battery life cycle with everyone to see is it normal.

1. fully charged on Monday 6th, by 10am.
2. battery was at 20% by Tuesday 7th June 6pm.
Usage: very light gaming for less than 1.5 hours total and occasional SMSes only. very few phone calls.
I use Juice Defender on Aggressive setting.

Thats about 1.5 days and i did not clear my memory in between.

Is this normal, or bad?

thanks.
*
normal.i can achieve that without juice defender, green power etc

I saw some posts about GPS. Anyway, here's a tried and proven, simple solution to improve your GPS fix times. I claim no credit for it as it is the author's on xda's. smile.gif

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...989&postcount=4

Long story short, you need double-sided tape, scissors and most importantly, finger nails to open your battery cover. Haha. smile.gif

Tried on my gf's phone and my friend's phone. Also to add, I've read that a new EU firmware does fix the GPS fix issues. But since the firmware is not available here............
*
But that method need to open the back screw is it?will it void the warranty?

Saw many people complaint about this in xda forum.they refer it as SOD.maybe bcoz d FW is not yet stable.but to know dat GB already available is really a good news.hope they can come up with stable GB version soon.plus, people claim that swap method is also possible with it smile.gif

Is it still worth it to buy this phone in another 2 months with a budget of 1.6k? This phone ori only 1.3k leh
*
The price is not more than 1.25k now.some even sell at 1.15k only.
if ur budget is 1.6k and u want to go for higher specs,i suggest u to buy galaxy s plus.but if I have that kind of budget,I would really save a bit more to get an LG optimus 2x(dual core!!).1.7k sell in celxis.com
If u have 1.6k but u want to save a bit from that budget(maybe ure a family man with midclass income or a student) ,than this phone is so much worth it from the price.with the recent beta release of GB 2.3.4,it gives good news that this phone may receive further development in future

Just my 2cent smile.gif

thanks... will check it out... when i get a wifi access lol

hey guys, on another matter, im using celcom sometimes when my data is switching between hsdpa/3g/edge and etc
suddenly it will loose the ability to connect(missing data connection icon) and the only way i can connect back it by off n on the phone...

when i use elixier to check my phone, it shows me pdpdropped, meaning celcom is unable to properly handle switching between networks ?

see attached screenshot

QUOTE(blueprint @ Jun 30 2011, 01:11 PM)
greetings all...

i just bought my galaxy sl from digital mall on 26/6/2011.
has been using it for abt 5 days now.
its a great phone but what's bothering me is the batt life.
i full charged at 6am in the morning and by around 3pm its already flat-out
i already set the screen brightness to the lowest and turn off the auto-sync
i use for few calls which in total i think not more than 20mins a day
with some browsing and social network not more than 1hour roughly
and some text messaging
i also turn on the packet data/gps only when i want to use

i just wanna know whether its normal or there was something wrong with the batt
because i read the review - they can get abt 1.5 days with some internet, some video and some calls
*
what firmware are u using?do u install any battery saver application?how long do u use gps per day?are u usually left ur phone until its battery flat-out then only u charged?

i full charged yesterday at 11.30am and now my battery is 27% at usage almost similar to what u mentioned..

from 'about phone'

firmware 2.2.1
kernel 2.6.32.9

root@SE-S604 #1 (what this mean? i never root my phone)
btw i'm still new to android, i in the middle reading "Top 10 Reasons To Root Your Android Phone"

btw i turn og gps when i use apps like foursquare/latitute/maps which i think total up abt 20-30mins a day
i tried to use papago x5 (pre-installed by the shop) but it keep crashing.

i just installed juice defender - only after i read this thread today... so i'll yet to see how it perform

sometimes i will use car charger when it notify me to plug-in the charger bcoz i work out of office a lot
*
try that 1st.juice defender got mixed reviews about it.some say good same say eat more battery.i didnt installed them actually.from what i noticed, gps have high consumption of battery,so make sure u really turn them off after using it.i seldomly using gps.have u set ur display setting to turn off in 15seconds?i didnt but i always turn off the screen manually after using.and i noticed that my previous OCD of checking my handset every 5minutes to see task manager and any unnoticed incoming message/calls has caused high battery consumption sweat.gif now ive stopped doing that already tongue.gif and my firmware is xxkb3.so maybe theres some difference in battery consumption also.

the shop that i bought my phone recommend me melkco leather casing which i think is very nice
u dont need to strap/buckle/button - it just hook up at the top of the phone.
the shop at digital mall quote me rm80 but they dont have stock, need to order.
i also found from mudah.my there's another shop selling melkco casing for galaxy sl at subang square at rm89
*
well,if u know how much the price is chrishoe getting that leather case, then only ull know tongue.gif
