if i don't read d forum i won't b here.

yes u lived there in some place for some months & not d WHOLE of Korea for MOST of your life as i can deduce from yr "i never been there" in most of your replies.

if u considered that as having lived there, then i have lived in MANY parts of the WORLD!

my 6 incher is still massive compared to yr puny 6mm

i asked for android preferably SII if yr puny brain still can't comprehend

Why so offensive? I dont think his reply was that harsh. He's just playing. Please read back and check, fights/rudeness never happened in this thread. Do keep it that way.

its just very annoying when one just wants some simple answers to some very simple questions. not everyone got time to talk nonsense. if the answer u're going to give is not going to get anyone anywhere then its best to keep silent.

ashcrimson may think its cool but its just so darn annoying when it keeps happening.

ppl come to specific forums for constructive discussions & sharing not blabbering. there's a lot of planning to do before we leave & we got no time for all these.

so everyone has to have the same definition of level of nonsense as he is doh.gif

anyway, if you really have a lot of planning to do, why dont you read the thread from the beginning? all infos and trivias for south korea are here. maybe then u realize that the infos that you're looking for are already posted

and i lived there for 6 years. that's 72 months for you brows.gif

Thats LYN.

Hard to say, really. Each threads has its own characters. If its technical thread, mostly ppl will be serious.

As for this thread, it has family theme to it. Korean enthusiasts can just come in and chitchat, even if its "nonsense".
Like I said, its hard to justify. Family theme, rojak lor.

We have alot of informative Korean enthusiasts here, need to be patient. Some of them is still away. You'll get your answer eventually.

ashcrimson have been to Korea and he thought maybe any phone will do, cant really use phone as we use it here since the service is different. If you disagree with his opinion, you can just ignore him and wait for others.

Seriously, relax. I'm planning for my first trip too. Feel both anxious and excited until headache. Need to chill also.

Back to your question, its Korea afterall. I'm sure they have Galaxy SII for rental. Can try find at the airport.

You better settle your passport first than thinking about phones.

One of my colleagues had rented an Iphone before. I saw some Android phones available but cant remember which.
Of course dont expect to get the latest models, its rental afterall. Only for emergency calls.

Went backpacking on my own before and I had never need a phone. Hotels, guesthouses have free wifi, so I normally talk on Skype with my parents and my then fiance(now wife). In case of emergency, I gave them the hotel's/guesthouses' number.

I'll be heading back to Korea early May for work trip. Then another longer stay for 8 month in July.

Do bear in mind that Korean phones doesnt use simcards like ours. Every phones are connected/attached to their telcos.

I was worried about these aswell as I need Alien Registration Card to apply for their local data plans. But luckily my company will prepare everything for me. So, phew!

May I know whether is it really tough for backpackers to go South Korea due to language problem? How's their english or even mandarin, is it somewhere near hong kong?

I don't actually like to go with travel tour. Prefer go by myself, but worry language barrier.

Added on February 7, 2012, 5:40 pmcan try to go udo island and phonix island. both attractions r not well known by the foreigner...but this 2 place really do amaze me...go there if u have extra time.

QUOTE(Listiani @ Jan 25 2012, 11:49 AM)
Most forumers here have not been to Jeju during winter, I think. But for me, I'll take the risk to visit Jeju during winter because Nami is actually quite near and reachable by train from Seoul and you can do the tour in a day whereas Jeju u need to fly from Seoul. I am sure the Sunrise Peak still in Jeju during winter.

I've stayed at Lotte Hotel, Seoul Backpackers and Travellers A before.

Lotte is the best! I managed to download loads of tv series (seasons) during my 1 week visit.
Seoul Backpackers and Travelers A is OK. Enough speed for surfing, email, Skype(yellow), Youtube etc.
