mastering89: B+W used to say on their site that the only real ones are the brass rings and that the alloy ones are fake. However I cannot find that statement on their site anymore. That said I bought B+W for the protection, so I wanted it to be original lah.

No, the A380 does not have Release Without Lens. You need to turn to M mode instead.

Exactly!!! Usually prime users own a set of primes which double in range ie. 24mm, 50mm, 100mm, 200mm or they choose the 2nd combo which is 50mm apart, 35mm, 85mm & 135mm!

albnok: thats a good point, i would think that I shoot in low light more as opposed to super-sharp photos... so i guess it would have to be 35mm 1.8 then?

30mm Macro really rox!

my opinion, if you don have 50mm F1.8, u can get 35mm F1.8, if you have 50mm F1.8 already, take 30mm macro..else your 50mm will be keep in box most of the time..haha...

as for myself, i already have 50mm, so i mostly use 50mm for portraits..and 30mm as my walkaround lens..it is super sharp..and basically can focus in any distance..it can be use for portrait also if u want..at F2.8 it is sharp too...

btw, my camera and flash already sent to repair..
