I will flash to Simply tonight based on ur guide here, so i will feedback about the guide as this is my 1st flashing (sure a lot of doubts).
1 more thing, which flashing method is more safe or recommended ? Odin or CWM method ?
I flashed to speedmod via Odin actually, but the Simply thread show guide flash via CWM method~
Mayb u can add a section like preparation before flashing, for example, for user that flashed to speedmod kernel, it is advisable to disable the lagfix fist bla bla bla~

So far, the diagram is very clear and simple to newbie like me~
I know i need to proceed to step 3.0 as i already flashed to speedmod kernel through this diagram~

great suggestion about the cwm and odin flashing, i haven't seen any of the recovery modes on sgs yet, so sometimes reading stuff online will surely make me blur, there are so much stuff that needs to be processed and not a complete (standard) guide on everything in one page including rooting, going into download mode (i have no idea what this is, because I use / mod HTC only, everything is different in here), flashing stuff and so on.

Did u try tis ? I downloaded the .apk file, from the forum, it said paste the file to system/app and replace~
Im using Astro file manager to copy the file but i cant paste it inside the system/app~
Any idea?

Looks like this tweak is not recommended for simply 2.4 ROM.

I've tried on my Simply 2.4 ROM.....and immediately reverted to previous files!
The phone is became laggish with these bin files, and I've had low fps on Quadrant Benchmark.....from 1400 pts by stock (w EXT4) to 980 pts with your files....

Froyo 2.2.1 system files are better.....for me!

For backup IMEI, i use terminal emulator and type the following code

to enable read&write on the system folder~

After i press Enter, nothing happen, is it normal ? Did i enable the read&write feature ?
Den i open the efs folder, it shows empty~
I need to copy out this folder to backup my IMEI ?

i am having problems with my galaxy s i9000 when i attach my data cable to my phone and my usb wont connect .
screen not come out 'mount data' or 'mass storage' ...

the phone only 'charging'!!!!

i already checked my usb port on my phone and computer . it works fine.
it happen after i flashed to Simply Galaxy ROM 2.4.
or have another way to mount data.???
big problem to me now.i can`t transfer file to my computer.
anyone can help .???

tried 3 times to update using KIES,
failed because it said "lost connection" or something
thats weird cuz i never even touched the damn USB cable..zzz

well, not so sure about that la. mine also buy from lowyat before and got only crappy warranty from them. dont worry too much, if your phone rosak, just go to samsung center to fix. not really expensive juga maybe.

and btw, BEWARE of the camera lens, it's not a GORILLA glass. mine scratch already.

okay.. yesterday i had unlocked the 3 buttons. today have to flash to other rom. i had installed the Kies via the mini CD. is it have to exit it while flashing the custom roms ?

but the phone is slowing down though clean wipe from one rom to another..   maybe it's rom lagginess la T_T

then i just flash twice lo.. much easier less hassle !
