be warned that ext2 has no journal like ext4. If your phone suddenly hangs and you pull out the battery, you will get data loss. However, damiangto claims his kernel users do not experience such problem.

About oc/uv. Is it stable for long period of time? What is your undervolt settings?
*
data loss is prominent if i don't switch off my phone properly. sure to have corrupted files in lost.dir if it happens lol unless i'm lucky enough not to get it O.O

pretty stable. froze once when choosing wallpaper smile.gif used for a day already

It is perfectly safe. I'm not sure how the back-door works. But when that file is created, it prevents any other apps from creating the same file at that folder. Probably that's how the back-door works - by exploiting the missing /system/bin/profile file.

Not sure if that is enough. At the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=977154 he gave
CODE

$ su
su
# remount rw
Remounting /system (/dev/stl9) in read/write mode
# touch /system/bin/profile
# chmod 644 /system/bin/profile
#

The "profile" file is given 644 permission. When I look up what it is http://www.zzee.com/solutions/unix-permissions.shtml#numeric , It gives:
owner: read and write permissions,
group: only read permissions,
others: only read permissions.

That will prevent others from overwriting that file.

p/s use r/w in root explorer. Or if you don't have one, use this to make /system writable.
CODE

# mount -o remount,rw -t rfs /dev/block/stl9 /system
