Hello, my name is Ms. Lynn, one of resellers agent participating at iCitymall.com. I receive a few calls from customers last night regarding your forum discussion at Lowyat forum. You are making a false allegation and humiliated the business entity. The thread you started will provoke our company good reputation with our existing clients and partners. You might get sued since we are not scamming anyone. If you need a proof, I will give you several contacts of our most recent customers who had done cash on delivery / courier transaction with us. I advise you to remove this forum thread within 24 hours, otherwise NextCom Studio Technologies and our investors will lodge a police report against you and file a lawsuit for defamation statement causing a reputation loss for our e-catalogue. Our company had invested a lot to be one of the leading ICT gadget store in Asia and had built relationship with our partners. By this provoking thread, we will take action in legal means since scamming is against our policy. Whether you respond to this message or not, we will contact MCMC today to acquire your identity and report this issue to Lowyat administrator before lodging a police report against you.
If you need proof regarding our recent customers contacts, I can be contacted at 014-7189921 (Ms. Lynn, regional sale agent of NextCom Studio Technologies). I consider this issue is a serious case because you had called i-citymall.com as a scam website. It is provoking, humiliating and irresponsible. I added similar notice in respond to this thread : https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1852992/+20 A PM copy of this message was sent thread starter if he/she might not check it. Miss Lynn or i-citymall. i think you should back your claim and stop threatening geopchai. I agree with ben113 that geopchai didnt make any damaging statement to defame your company.
As a matter of fact, you are making matters worse by giving us a bad image of your company by threatening to sue gepochai here. People do not respond well to threats and I believe you could have handled this better by asking gepochai nicely. |

yes! I agree with you gepochai. There's are too many doubts there regarding to their website. I wish that people could take more precaution on this website http://i-citymall.com.
I notice that their clearance sales price is set on there since Tuesday and never change. So cheap still cannot clear out arr? Added on April 29, 2011, 6:33 pmadditional info: (Wednesday Morning) I called them(Penang number: 04 6192569) and ask how could I make COD payment. There's a girl said I have to make the arrangement via their contact us form on their website and they will reply me within an hour. (Thursday Afternoon) I waited a day and they still have no reply. So I email the sales email address and enquire about it. They told me this "COD accepted within Klang Valley/Sunway/PJ and Bayan Baru / Suntech@Penang CyberCity lobby. As we had clearly mentioned on our payment information page, early appointment 3 days earlier to arrange the schedule and product transport from our 2 warehouses (Bayan Lepas/Port Klang). To check the stock availability, you may call +010-4284181 (Mrs. Corina David) to arrange the appointment." I didn't call them up because, firstly, I know three days after Thursday is Labour Day(Sunday) and the next day is public holiday. Secondly, if it's a well maintained big company, why are they telling me the different way to make COD arrangement? ( I guess you know why they don't reply me on Wednesday ) (Friday) And here, someone review this http://fraudwatchers.net/forums/showthread.php?p=130831 It said that the payment can be only made via bank to bank. This payment method is not safe as the bank will not revert the transaction. This post has been edited by xcarfieldx: Apr 29 2011, 06:35 PM |

Hi xcarfieldx,
Wow, u actually tried to call. Not bad. This sales agent from I-citymall.com claim that they have obtained my personal information from mcmc and will file a lawsuit towards me. She also PMed me explaining regarding the iPhone sales that I enquired about. She say their stock was shipped from Canada and that they will provide after sales service to claim warranty. And the new stock they are selling is from maxis. But no explanation was provided regarding why the MacBook normal retail price that they show in the webpage is actually much higher than the normal retail price in any apple reseller in Malaysia. Added on April 30, 2011, 12:15 amPlus there seems to be no credit card payment option although they display the respective icons. Did you see any credit card payment option when you try to buy? QUOTE(gepochai @ Apr 30 2011, 12:09 AM) Hi xcarfieldx, No. there's no credit card option for that. Well, you can just ignore what ever law suit things because they did pm it to me too. Check their review, google about it and do some thinking, you will feel that this website is a little.. hehe.. Do not send money via Bank to Bank transfer! Most scammers will want you to transfer money to a bank account which is in the name of a totally unrelated individual or entity than who they claim to be or claim to represent. There are persons and companies who let scammers use their bank accounts for the deposit of funds gained through scams in exchange for a cut of the money. Bank transfers are extremely difficult, if not impossible, to reverse because the bank's position will be that you authorized the transfer even if that authorization was based on fraud! Frequently the scammer will withdraw the money as soon as it is wired. **From Fraudwatcher

Anyone can register with SSM. I can register with SSM using ABC Company, saying I'm a eRetailer, but infact I could be doing Sundry kedai runcit. SSM don't investigate. I can register ABC and open a bank account, and later after the SSM registration has expired, I can still continue to use the bank account. SSM is just a place to register "stuff".

MESSAGE FROM GEPOCHAI :- Hi Lynn, first of all, can you explain in detail in what way have i defamed your company or website? its obvious that i'm just raising a query to the forum's community and bringing up something that is of doubt. whatever anyone else comments in the thread has nothing to do with me. your website claims that the apple iPhone is covered by apple's warranty. but as far as anyone knows, iPhone in malaysia is covered by apple via the respective telcos that you purchase it from but no further details was provided regarding which telco it is. plus it was being sold at below market price during that time. you are free to defend your claims and provide accurate details in the forums or threads as i have had no intention of defaming or provoking your company. i'm sure if you are willing to stand up and provide good information, it will be able to clear all doubts and even help strengthen your stand as a genuine online reseller. forcing someone to remove a thread that was started with no ill intentions by means of threatening a person with lawsuit is a childish attempt. Joshua ----------------------------<<In this first message, the was questioning the warranty>>--------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- REPLY First of all, you defamed our reputation when you raised the doubt by intentionally saying 'smell something fishy' for attracting non-customers writing insultive, accusing iCity as a scam without having any purchase transaction with us. Secondly, In the respective product page was clearly mentioned that the warranty is covered by Apple in Canada (as we imported from Vancouver) and the customer's need to send their iPhone back to us for warranty claim by Apple on their behalf. ---Which is unavailable after we had cancelled our pre-order contract with our supplier, OUR EXISTING CUSTOMERS WERE INFORMED REGARDING THIS---- Recently we sell iPhone 4 Maxis set --> By your own judgment, you say there is something fishy that we can offer price below retail, I can give you the contact detail of the customers who bought iPhone 4 from us at RM2100 by cash on delivery. DON'T ARGUE ABOUT WARRANTY, BECAUSE BUYERS WHO BOUGHT FROM US GOT IPHONE 4 MAXIS SET, WHICH ARE UNDER MAXIS WARRANTY FOR ONE YEAR. ---I CAN EVEN SUPPORT THIS STATEMENT WITH OUR EXISTING CUSTOMERS. Since your thread attract non-customers who made wrong assumptions against iCity, you are RESPONSIBLE for starting the thread. We are not threatening you to remove the thread, only to remind you if any lawsuit case filed against you at anytime (either by our partners, investor, or NextCom Studio Technologies affiliations), we'll not be responsible for any financial ruin for any parties involved. In your thread, we investigated that people who replied were not our customers, and yes, they created irresponsible, insultive feedback, and humiliating statements when someone say iCity is a scam. -- WHICH WILL AFFECTS RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR EXISTING CLIENTS AND POTENTIAL BUYERS.-- Instead of saying 'sounds so fishy' in your statement, we assume you're intention is to spread your doubt AND from there provoking statements came from without thinking of consequences on the other party. Lastly, you said 'forcing someone to remove a thread that was started with no ill intentions by means of threatening a person with lawsuit is a CHILDISH ATTEMPT' --- We don't argue in forum, spreading doubts, BUT we do it in legal means, the ADULT WAY -- by taking this matter into legal procedures without hurting any parties that has never performed any transaction with us. It is not threaten, it is a notification. We don't care by what intention you are, we only care by the consequences of your thread--SINCE THE FEEDBACK CAME FROM NON CUSTOMERS WHO ACCUSED ICITY AS A SCAM. It effect a relationship with our existing clients, and potential buyers.--due to loss in sales, so we will claim a damage for it. -----------------------------<>-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gepochai is highlighting several images on iCity :- Apple warranty --Warranty for iPhone 4 was under Maxis, due to cancellation of international orders made by iCity The Amazon affiliation and eBay reseller. ---iCity products are outsourced through Amazon sellers and supply to the third party eBay sellers internationally. Macbook Price : It was sold for RM3299 for the last unit in stock which was a display set (demo unit) **-not for all units previously. Don't waste your time arguing online if you feel you have lawyers friends whatsoever, since every businesses are protected by law and we are prepared to take this matter to claim for damages for losses in sales and declining our reputation by this provoking forum. I once won a case when the seller's ad was misleading, etc. Misleading can be in many forms, such as pictures does not match the description or item, small fonts, certain clauses not visible, or those description that are visible but then they are not related to the ad, etc... many ways to mislead a person. Be careful.

Misleading allegation is false unless a customer paid for the product and receive different from what that has been described. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET, AND IF THE ITEM IS NOT IN STOCK, A CUSTOMER IS OFFERED A REPLACEMENT, ONLY AT A POINT OF AGREEMENT BY BOTH BUYER AND SELLER. IF A CUSTOMER DOESN'T ACCEPT A REPLACEMENT, WE ARE NOT INTERESTED TO CONTINUE THE DEAL AND REFUND THE PAYMENT. |
