Yes, if you take new 2011 golf, most dealers give 2 free service. Here's the estimated price for the service cost schedule given by FA Wagen. 15k - rm500+, 30k - rm800+, 45k - 900+, and the killer service is at 60k, about rm2.4k. But this is for GTI. For TSI I believe its cheaper. So, if you are quoted rm1.7k for 30k service for your TSI, you are getting ripped off!

Cant comment as I havent got my car yet. But I suppose I will do my service at 222 since I bought my car there and I live in PJ. Cergas at TTDI will be my other option but I heard the service is crappy there. Appreciate if anyone here can share their experience with 222 and TTDI

Actually im using Huper Optik in my current car and the heat resistance is pretty good so far. Mine not too dark but just nice. It comes with security film and works well with smartag. I'll probably get this again when my GTI arrives. The place that I installed Huper is in SS2 near RHB bank. Price I think was rm1.7k if i can remember correctly. There is no point getting 3M if it doesnt work with smartag. I can imagine the hassle of winding down your windows, especially when its raining

Shucks, i envy you man. I still have to endure another few weeks before I get my car. Your GTI is 2010 stock? Yeah, I guess i will still stick to the 1000km rule and run in the engine properly despite people telling me that its not necessary. Anyway, I agree that GTI is meant to be revved. There is really no point in buying a GTI if you hardly want to take it above 2000rpm. Might as well just buy a smooth sailing boring sedan like camry.

Yes I love the detroits too and they look absolutely gorgeous on the GTI. How much did you have to top up to change from denver to detroits? Also, how much did you paid for your RNS? I'm planning to get it too.

Can you share some pictures of how the HU looks like? I have seen the RNS510 LED version so far and the screen is very sharp though it does not come with Bluetooth and rear camera. You can RNS510 at exotic mods at around RM5k. If your unit is only 3.5k and comes with BT and rear camera, then it is indeed a good deal!

Bro, you are getting your GTI in April? Sunroof would be nice but not a must have for me. RCD510 will be nice though. Which dealer did you book your GTI?

Added on March 30, 2011, 1:05 amGolf R in the price range of 260-280k. Looking at the current Golf/Rocco prices, the Rocco R would probably be in the price range of 320-340k because of the stupid 2-door car tax. For that price, you can get a 3 year old Cayman S!

Actually, thats not a fair statement as it depends on what the buyer wants. If brand and status is what you want, then those 3 brands are the way to go. If you want performance and power, VWs are good value for money. Audi A4 does only 8.6sec and have less features than the passat. BMW 320 is worse. The car does only 9.8 sec with basic features. You are just buying the car for the logo. A peugeot 308 turbo can smoke the 320 on straight line. In this aspect, the Passat CC not only outperforms the 320, A4 and C200, it has more features and is cheaper (though A4 is slightly cheaper). Not forgetting that 320 and C200 is locally assembled. Passat is CBU

Ok thanks. I am thinking of upgrading from Denver to Detroits when my car arrives. Means I will be selling my brand new denver but my car will only be here in May. Does anyone knows how much I would have to top up if I were to trade in my denver for new detroits?

I am aware that RNS GPS is not totally up to par with other GPS as the software upgrade for POI is only available in June. I was told the GPS only works by addresses for now until the POI feature is updated. However, I have seen the screen and it is really sharp and the built in amplifier is much better than RCD and the older RNS. Of course, the integration with the rest of the car is superb...

The 2011 batch confirmed come with front DRL la, its already confirmed by few dealers to me. As for sunroof, didnt hear of it so far.

How much did you pay for your ecotint? Does it come with security film?

Well, I'm not sure if the GTI DRL lights design are going to be the same as the TSI. Looks are subjective la. I thought the DRL looks quite good on the TSI when I saw one on the road last week. Here are some GTI DRL pics though

Anyone here who booked GTI few months ago gonna get their car this month? Or at least an indication when you will get your car this month?

My GTI is coming soon! Probably in the next 2-3 weeks. Anyone else knows where to get Detroits at good price? If Detroits are too expensive, I will just settle with doing that polish job for my Denvers as some you have done.
