guys, the home button issue is it caused by OS issue or hardware? so is not worth to take Iphone4 now ?
*
if i not wrong, it's a recurring problem since ipon 3. it's hardware related

Then, there will be possibility that all iPhone bought from those carriers is refurbished one?  sad.gif who knows?!
*
i highly doubt so because:

1. when u buy new phone, the salesperson will cut open the ipon4 box (sealed) in front of u.
2. everything inside is completely untouched
3. the person will cut out your micro sim and insert into the phone.

when claim warranty, u're given a phone without any box, just with the pelapik skrin on front and back.

However, I know that it is quite easy to seal back a box, brother.

brother, what are refurbished sets?
*
which then u can check the IMEI code as suggested by WimpyKid smile.gif

u can certainly doubt the telco if they seal back the boxes, just like how u should doubt if u'll be able to claim your warranty should u need it.

I have home button issues. But the problem is my warranty is over and the problem only started after warranty. I got my phone on either the 3rd day or the 4th day of launch.

Does anyone know if Maxis provides any repair service for phones out of warranty? I don't mind paying.
*
u can probably ask around in Lowyat plaza, or any phone shops. should be around price of <rm100, RM120 tops.

was told by a LYN seller in penang, home button repair would cost RM60

sad.gif digi there says if wanna claim warranty, the home button has to be completely spoilt.
That day he test my iphone, almost 40% of the intended click registration failed but he say it is still working.
*
screw him. demand replacement. logic is this

1. completely spoil, how to use?
2. leave u no choice but to jailbreak to use activator.
3. he then tells u jailbroken phone cannot claim warranty.

anyway pls don't put up with his bullshit. DEMAND a replacement. after waiting so long for replacement from DiGi, i learnt that being nice and patient to them is worthless.

Hmm, even though Digi replace Iphone for me, but I still need to wait around 5 months (??)
What's in my thought was that I just go the handphone repairer and repair the home button for <RM100 (around that price) rather than waste 5 months for the replacement unit.
*
to be honest, i'd rather pay to repair. becos

1. u get the phone immediately
2. it's YOUR phone, so u definitely know wat's the status like.
3. if replace, it's a refurbished phone. u dunno whether the phone previously got issue, and if yes, u dunno whether the phone is successfully repaired or not.
4. if jb, u'll need to redo everything.

only pro if u claim is:
1. it's free
2. u get a very new phone, exterior-wise.

I'm just curious where they send it back to ? Singapore ? coz Singapore got awefully lots of refurbished set available. I just changed mine (in Sg) yesterday (warranty left 3 days  rclxms.gif ) and it's done within 30mins. Which bring back to the point, why get local set when you can have a Sg set which have faster warranty claim compare to local set ? unless you wanna sign up plan.
*
cos it'll be damn mafan having to go to Sg to claim warranty ma.
imagine i from penang have to fly to Sg to claim...

Hi, Just would like to share. Had the standard home button problem after too much double clicking to clear my apps. Went to the Digi Solaris store for RMA and managed to get a refurbished set in 2 days. There should be stock at Solaris today (just collected an hour ago)
*
wow tht's fast. thanks for sharing biggrin.gif

How we can know whether d iPhone is new set or refurbished set??
*
a check at the serial number will tell.
i can't rmbr wat number indicates serial number though..

I finally repaired my ip4 home button at wisma central ampang for rm80.

However the guy don't replace the button as he only clean up the contact point which has a built up that prevent the contact. Most probably he say this built up comes from Aircond room where the vapour deposited at home button.

He just take 15-20min to open, clean and reassemble back.damn fast
*
80 bucks but no replace? but why...? the part doesn't cost much ma.
