my gf took postinor one and a half months ago and her period came last month.
but recently she has been experiencing nausea, dizziness and pain.
could this be a side effect of the pill or something more serious ?

It could be side effects of the pill if she gotten those a few days after consuming the pill. But since it has been so long, I doubt it has anything to do with the pills.
Have you guys do a pregnancy test? She might be experiencing morning sickness, or just something else not related to this.

Well if period came...then it might not be. If she is experiencing that, maybe she is having UTI.
Do go to the clinic and check. That might be the reason also.

postinor- take note that postinor is not good for health, it will cause a few side effects, dizzy, pain , pale, lost of energy. As this postinor pills will affect the period of your gf significantly. take her to doctor

Appendicitis? I used to think my appendicitis pain was period cramps. My period cramps used to be very awful. Until one day I went to see my gynae and she recommend me to a surgeon where he say he has to do the operation on me immediately or it will turn very messy. I didn't have a fever, just pain and dizziness.

My UTI symptoms aren't really like that. If she experience burning during urinating then maybe it is as painful urination is one of the most common symptoms of UTI.

guys .. just a question - what do u call those pills which is taken 1 day once for 30 days to prevent pregnancy?
how much they usually cost?

Well some UTI does cause nausea and also dizziness. Depending on the individuals and also the area of infection.
Some people have the burning sensation when they pee...and there are some have the nausea and pain.

those are called birth control pills. Well you can do a search in this forum. There was a talk about that. If you cant find that, go back to the Roundtable discussion and click on Pregnancy & Parenting. You might find your info there.

I think that is because they are losing blood. So they will be pale and lost of energy.
But anyhow, postinors are only for emergency. that is why they are called Emergency Contraceptive Pills (ECP).

But then there no significant disadvantages. The only reason someone takes the ECP is cause they had unprotected sex and they dont want to get pregnant.

Well there are no proven studies on that. Again different people will react differently to it.

Yea different people react to it differently. Can't really say what is a confirm disadvantages or side effect of the ECP. Anyway, it's for Emergency use. So I doubt it would be healthy if taken on a daily/weekly basis.

I got this one friend who's so worry getting pregnant..

as told, she had unprotected sex with her boyfriend end of last month and for this month she missed her period. This is her first time and she don't know nothing about ECP., so, she was late for ECP right.. ( or isit she still able to take ECP and prevent pregnancy?)

up to this day, it has been 4 week and she "feel" she is pregnant.
I ask her to see doctor but she insist ( well, its so shameful to see doctor as she's not married)

she still studying and don't want to get pregnant at all..
as the "pregnancy" just 4 week-old ( in the development of fetus), she want to do abortion at the early stage


do you think, how can we help her..

Before you help your friend by encouraging her to get an abortion. Please take note that illegal abortion if get caught, maximum 7 years imprisonment and fine for the doctor and patient. Also, have to consider the risk of complications during and/or after the procedure.

In malaysia, can only get abortion if it can save a woman's life or if she's unfit to be a mother by reason of insanity.

There is this abortion pill. However i think it can only be obtained from legally authorized clinics only. If your friend were to get the pills from illegal sources, she has to take the risks that the pills might not have the same quality (we all know nowadays anything can be replicated, even an egg!). The bottom line is that the pills may be hazardous to her health.

The mature thing to do is to ask the man to be responsible.

However, to each his own.

P/S: But she has not even taken any pregnancy test! Stress can also mess with a woman's period cycle.

Well at this early stage, what you can advise your "friend" to do is to perform a pregnancy test. The kit can be obtained from the pharmacy easily..
IF the signs are still positive, then ur "fren" needs to speak to her partner and discuss their options.
Abortion is an option but its not the only way. if ur fren thinks she is not up for it, then she can go to the clinic and opt for it.
Just dont ask her to use a hanger and do those stupid manual abortions.

tell ur fren to suck it up and go with her bf. it was not shameful to have sex before marriage but shameful to see doctor.

Abortion pill is also ILLEGAL in this country. There's no legally authorized clinics that sell them.
Abortion is available is certain private clinics but they are all illegal. However, they still do it secretly. Abortion pills are available nearest in Singapore, but most of the time they won't prescribe it to you because this sort of thing need follow ups.

it's too late for it.

My advice is get a urine test first to confirm the pregnancy.

It might just be a wrong " feeling" .

BCP is long term, EC is emergency and if you're not sexually active. But do not take EC all the time, it's bad for your health.

better check with doctor.. because u never will be too sure..
