I'm not sure about SE cedar whether it can be used as internet modem or not. but AFAIK, most SE's with 3G can do that. hmm.gif

Megapixel is not the only factor when it comes to take good pictures. For Nokia, they have the Carl Zeiss lens for some high end model or mid end level. For the low level, Nokia C5 or C5-03 might be able to fulfill your requirement in terms of the megapixel, but not good photo quality.

If you are serious about getting a phone with good camera, I suggest that you top up your budget to get the Nokia X6 8GB or Nokia X6 16GB. Both below RM1k for the original sets.

I see. Usually people's stated budget means the maximum budget he/she can afford. So, try to recommend any phone model that is below that budget. wink.gif

Same as me. wink.gif

When buying handphone that is meant for long term use, it is wise to hike a bit.

However, please let them know those choice are slightly out of their original budget. wink.gif

Alternative to Nokia 5800?

Getting one for my wife, she likes the features of a 5800, meaning:
1) Got GPS
2) Touch Screen
3) wi-fi
4) 3G video call

The only thing she hates is the thickness. So guys, any phones with similar feature with the 5800 but slimmer? Thanks in advance ....

symbian is the OS.. like pc, u have windows, mac, linux, and newly chrome. for smartphones, there is iOS(iphone), android(lots of lots now, look for HTC's, samsung etc), windows mobile 7, and symbian.

ovi is just an account for u. like msn la.. but ovi will enabled u to use all ovi services (again, like google's product also is enabled to be used by registring just gmail. am i rite? wink.gif ) so, u can download apps from ovi store, used ovi maps..

well, don't expect much from nokia web browser sweat.gif for me, as I'am also jump (not really jump. I ran away) from SE's (I got nightmares using them. maybe just me sweat.gif ). the web browser for me is usable since I also new to smartphone laugh.gif i suggest u to try nokia X6 16gb as it is within your budget. hmm.gif everything else is pretty well covered IMO nod.gif but not the part of memory card one.. as X6 didn't have any memory slot sad.gif
if u really need the memory card, the only options within that budget that i can think of is C5-03. but the camera is not really comparable to X6. plus, the resistive touchscreen (as on older touchscreen phones. like 5800, which used the stylus) vs capacitive on X6 (capacitive is like iphone simply put.. very responsive compared to resistive. but will never respon to normal stylus and fingernail)

but if u may have any chances to extend your budget, better get new symbian^3 devices such C6-01 for smoother UI (compared to X6). it covers all your need there by topup around 100
