bro, i just noticed that AMSOIL Website stated that the Power Foam should not be used with vehicles with MAF Sensor blink.gif

is it safe to use on our Vios? sweat.gif
*
yes you cant spray at the MAF sensor... i only spray at throttle body and also unconnect the vacuum hose ....

some ppl say can use this or that to clean MAF ... tips dont listen to what that say ... you may risk damage your MAF sensor as the reading from this will not be accurate for your ECU

I heard some forumers said the car will stop running if we disconnect the hose with MAF Sensor...dunno if its the same for Vios

ok thx bro nod.gif
will check out my car tomorrow morning. wink.gif
*
yes some thing like this but i let my engine running ... and continue running even during spray this Power foam another option is unplug the vacuum hose then spray in to this hose...it also ok...

I done this De carbon on 40k mileage engine that is less the a year old....

Even Lexus LFA engines (1LR-GUE) is not using Valvematic - only dual vvt-i.

In terms of LYN F&F intelligence (Toyota fanboy & anti-fanboy) this means Altis engine = LFA engine.  cool2.gif
*
yes agree but this dual VVTI in altis the valve timing is not as advance timing as other like LFA ... power wise still ok for street use but track driving will be different.

Hi guys,

That day my Toyota Vios tyre almost got stolen, so now I'm planning to get my self a lock nut to lock my rim.

From what I heard, not all lock nut can be use, there's this specific measurement for the original rim, may I know for Vios spec E 2011 rim, which nut I should use? Any seller can recommend so I can just buy straight from him?

Thank you!
*
for lock nut u can try look for TPI nut this nut the lock key is not easy to find a set of 4 i think will cost less then RM150 if u buy those cheap 1 i think most of the tire shop also have your key....

size got 2 ... 1.25 or 1.5 for our vios is 1.5

*
this depend on budget, if you looking for the best parts spart plug go for Nology silver plug, air filter so many brand out there, OEM oil filter is good enough to last 10k mileage if got extra budget go for Amsoil or HKS, As for engine oil Get Amsoil AZO 0w30.

Nology silver plug how much? is it standard size for the plug?? safety wise better than iridium?? where can i get from?? can recommend few shops in KL or selangor?? Amsoil AZO 0w30 how much for 4L?? is it ok to take filtermag + standard oil filter??
*
For Nology silver plug cost RM250 plug code is D4YS for our 1NZ-FE you Can check Nology web catalog... yes standard size. you can try look for JC racing in sunway as they are the agent for Nology product.

Iridium plug is design for long lasting cause the metal tips it use iridium metal that is very very strong and hard metal to last very long but in term of power it is just abit better then normal plug but when compare to silver plug they are the best in term of power as well as they can last long too...

Amsoil AZO 0w30 cost RM40 web promo price per quart = 945ml but if shop i think about RM50 plus per quart.

Yes you can use Filtermag + standard oil filter as i been using now, i use Racing series filtermag (the magnet is so powerful compare to normal 1)

hello, sifu smile.gif.. can u suggest me which good performance brand of brake fluid, ATF fluid, power steering fluid, brake pad or brake kits which is compatible to my toyota vios 08?? How about ultra racing bar?? which bar is needed to improve my car handling performance??
*
for budget point performance fluid for brake you can use any DOT4 brake oil performance brand i think dont need to waste money, ATF fluid OE TOYOTA is good enough. brake system depend on what looking at if for everyday use just upgrade brake hose and brake pad.

I just replaced my 2007 ViosE cracked windscreen at Section19 PJ.
Drove there around 10am, the windscreen was replaced and collected the car by 2pm.
Since I insured the windscreen with MSIG at the same branch, they did the paperwork internally.

I insured for RM1600 (1000 windscreen 600 tint). However, my tint did not come with the car but I did it outside, else they would have retint for me as well (and claim accordingly).

Also the tint can only be done 1 week after windscreen change to let the glue dry. So after 1 week, I went to V-kool HQ down the road but the price has increased since 2007 from RM600 to RM800 for the front windscreen alone !

After paying for it, submitted the claim for RM600 to MSIG at Section19 and waiting for refund via cheque to be sent.

note- insurance premium is 15% of the windscreen/tint coverage hence every year I pay RM240 extra. Am considering to raise this coverage to RM1800 (since I know the Vkool tint is now RM800) else may choose a different tint that cost less in case the windscreen cracks again. Or just take the risk of insuring it lower and pay the difference should the inevitable happens.  whistling.gif
*
i just summited my claim too, my tint they change it free just charge labour cost. wah vkool so expensive....

rear ARB is?
It cost how much?

If change TRD suspension can avoid bodyroll
*
Dont waste $$$ TRD suspension with same $$$ can get better suspension, this cant avoid bodyroll but can reduce bodyroll at some point car design to have some body roll for street car.

QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Jun 11 2012, 03:00 PM)
lower speed definitely smile.gif

rear ARB lor, i think the 19mm will be better... mine's 16mm, feel like not enough doh.gif
*
wah taiko you should use 19mm at 1st stage .... this type of add on improve your chassis but best upgrade still a set suspension that can be custom tune to individual driver needs.

taikor, long time you no post here biggrin.gif
cos got a boss advised that if go for 19mm, it change suspension will induce too much oversteer, 16mm will be just nice...
But now thinking whether should go for suspension upgrade or keep in a jar as DP for conti tongue.gif
*
busy ...hehe...
If u say a boss advise he must be very geng.... long time i have miss out this type of action...haha... to me most of my advise was given by some of my racing driver friend .... very technique info...haha.... some advise from normal the web...

19mm not that bad... oversteer i still dont think is possible if normal speed but this still depend on how far you do dare to push till the edge... drive safely....

vios2002, got any advices for me or not? comparison between City and Vios. I still don't know which one to buy lo.

Added on June 12, 2012, 9:16 amif i go for vios, i will go for G limited and take on the ICE option 2 make the total cost of the car to be RM91,514. does it worth it or not? i don't know lo. City only cost around RM90,500.
*
Both are good car since this is vios thread all will say vios.... if in city thread will say city.... if you can wait vios is coming out new model 3gen as 2012 yaris look great...

what type of your driving style? both car chassis is about the same, if most of the time stuck in traffic jam... i suggest you increase your budget abit look for prius C ... i know small car but power ok too.... best part is FC i try once on normal flat road highway i can cruise on EV mode at 60kmh tongue.gif jazz hybrid cant do this tongue.gif tongue.gif

why i choose vios cause light weight chassis good FC and it offer manual GB.

vios may not be very good if look in the spec like 16" rim, paddel shift but end of the day we still mod the rim after we got the car .... paddle shift is good if you wan to drive like a manual or hold your gear....

QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Jun 12 2012, 10:01 AM)
can share share the info or not? my PM is always open tongue.gif

that's why lor... makes me wonder sometimes (maybe regret?) if 19mm will be more suited for my driving style hmm.gif

i try not to push the car too much too, it's a jap and sub 100k... there's only so much it can do even with mods tongue.gif
*
wah... u now so geng... 16mm or 19mm there is big different.... dont was money to install so many bars ... end up with the same amount you can get a good suspension right.... for our road car you cant good too stiff chassis cause some part of our welding point can crack and add on extra weight...

try to find a empty place if can raining hehe ... as alot ppl say 19mm easy to get oversteer but do they really experience it before.... u can try .... to my understanding not many driver push to the limit... but if in track driving ...some push some dont....

engine brake use no fuel at all.. meaning when u release ur padel when going down slope... it is 0L/km ... happy.gif
*
wah...dint know that after been driving soo long.... where u get this info?

QUOTE(kuman @ Jul 12 2012, 09:48 AM)
so this is the first service correct?
you go with semi-sync or full-sync?

last vios i did semi-sync.... but this time around thinking of doing the fully-sync engine oil cycle...
service every 10K.. what do you guys think?

and on my next service going to ask them about the auto-lock laugh.gif even my SA didn know about the removal of the auto-lock... biggrin.gif and will take a day off for this service... biggrin.gif

kuman
*
full sync ... never look back... best protection but becareful dont buy cheap brand... maybe not really fully sync as they claim...and dont use oil enhance ... it will damage the full sync ori formulation rather then giving you further improve as alot claim....

QUOTE(iLegend @ Jul 12 2012, 03:57 PM)
I'm using semi synthetic but service every 10k as well ~ perhaps service every 5k is for those who are using mineral one.

woah... how much your mileage?

i service every 9k with fully synthetic... at 7k already can feel the car having less power and increased FC doh.gif
you didn't feel any difference? sweat.gif
*
mine ... 74k and counting... as average 1 week 1k of mileage of driving...

last time my another car service every 5~7k on fully sync.. as i notice some power lost at 6k after use...then change sync brand got 1 brand dont feel much power at 2k of mileage then been use Motul, Royal purple and lastly Amsoil till now...

so far Amsoil dint notice much power lost even push till 13k plus ... and best part city driving still able to archive 530km ~ 550km ... even at 70k plus....

QUOTE(frantic912 @ Jul 12 2012, 04:51 PM)
no lah..just go every 10K km for service....just refers ur user manual what should change on certain milage...
*
yes ... 10k

QUOTE(iLegend @ Jul 12 2012, 07:19 PM)
now is about 59k ~ just did 60k service 2 weeks ago ~ wallet bleeding now...... can feel acceleration not smooth but then i just follow what the manual only ~ rarely rev more than 2.5k RPM also ~ so dont think need fully synthetic engine oil ~
*
wah ...very take care your engine ...
i notice my ex-colleague vios been been running 250k plus and have not overhaul for oil leak... as our engine like bullet proof....

QUOTE(seraph8660 @ Jul 12 2012, 08:48 PM)
hi.. how much u guys spent for 1 tank of full fuel?
and approx. mileage for fuel tank.
*
1 tank RM69 ~ RM71 able to archive 530km ~ 550km on city and 85% highway can reach 630km... on manual...
