well you are paying for something... just like the local and japan brake pad... 1 is selling at RM250++ another one is 395++ then which one u choose... your choice...
is not mistaken it  is 10W 30... jus got my car service last Friday... Semi will be 15W 40 if not mistaken...
*
there is so many grade / oil weight in the market. For me been using 5w30 and 0w30 on our vios engine so far no issue and my FC performance been improve compare to 10w40 oil weight.

Bro vios 2002, this the full synthetic frm SC which showing 5W-40...so is this better than the 10W-30?  hmm.gif

http://www.toyota.com.my/toyota-careplus/lubricants.dot
*
yes understand your point, good auto oil maker does not need to run heavy oil weight such as 5w40, 10w40, or even 10w50 and 15w50.

i my schedule service interval is every 5000 km on full synthetic oil if i service at SC. this is cause i notice performance drop after 6000 km and long hour driving each time go out station.

for the current best API standart is API grade V, this normally API SN on the bottle sticker as previous is SM grade.

next round is racing oil as this grade have the best protection for engine wear and tear.

QUOTE(michael9413 @ Apr 20 2011, 08:07 PM)
yes i took a look back at the bottle... it is 5W40... that's why heavy compare to my fren's... he is using semi syn 5W30...
*
i been using Full syn all the time even on my manual GB...hehe

Ok bro, thanks for the info...beside, anyone using iridium plugs for ur lovely dugong?or use normal plugs is good enough?
*
Using Iridium plus on our engine is good since this type of plus able to improve FC and better engine respond... in the market there is few good brand from Bosch, Denso, NGK and etc... but if you are looking for the ultimate plug for our car dugong and any engine you can try look for Silver spark plug... This silver spark plug will out perform any Iridium plug in the market as they claim they are super good in this and that.

For Silver plug you can look for Brand Brisk or Nology Silver plug, price just alittle more then iridium plug.

Any vios J manual owner here ?

Want to ask about the manual gear box......

Is it brisk and smooth when changing gear manually ?

If compare with wira 1.5 manual, which one better ?
*
If compare with wira, wira shift more smoother compare to vios manual.

but that time my wira mileage is more the 390k+ on the meter so there is alot wear and tear to the car.

Yes, the body just look soso..... no point waste this kind of money as it will create alot of wind drag = FC will drop.

QUOTE(Kelrys @ May 25 2011, 07:36 PM)
I am driving back and forth my home and workplace recently. Around 110km apart. My question is I maintain 160km/h mostly throughout the journey. Will it do any harm to my Vios? (Dec 2010)
*
no, but if u keep your rev near your rev limiter maybe some bad things will happen.... but that also 0.0000001% i think cause last time there is a guy always rev his vios/yaris the engine con rod broken and punch out from the engine block. but this is rare happen.... but 1 think for sure 1NZ-FE engine con rod is very thin

like recently my genting trip been driving fast going up my rev between 4~6k+ also not issue.....

If you like to drive fast make sure u have good brake pad and tire. going fast is easy but slowing down fast is hard for some.

Here are the pic of broken con rod

*
If for only oil change is not mistaken RM60+ if other parts repair/ service the charge will be different.

But 180 is scary enough already...
*
if for 1st time sure scary....done it once will try 2nd time.....strait road 180 is dangerous but dont do it on high speed cornering at this speed....

QUOTE(Kelrys @ Jun 3 2011, 09:41 PM)
noisy and wooooing sounds from engine. I off aircon and player. That's a full straight highway though. Wouldn't gamble it on corners. Not even 140.
*
if you hard on the gas our car will auto cut off the aircon compressor so u have some extra power just abit dont really feel it

QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Jun 3 2011, 09:59 PM)
actually 180km/h for a 1tonne car... although i m not driving... it already sounds scary tongue.gif

don't do it too often tongue.gif
*
yes if possible dont drive at this speed our local road is not design for this speed as well our is not design for high speed like sport car.

QUOTE(Scissorshand @ Jun 4 2011, 09:43 PM)

bro vios2002, how to define abnormal use?
*
in our stock O2 sensor normally wont damage even if your engine is mileage have reach 100k. Normally damage will be happen during user who mod they exhaust system like miss handling/ remove O2 sensor.

Another maybe could damage but not sure real or fake is the fuel we use RON95 cause the quality is not as good as other country RON95.

If you looking forward to tune your ECU with piggyback or use a standalone ECU, Standard O2 sensor have very limited reading during tuning.

Be careful when buying O2 sensor from outside cause nowdays there is alot of imitation parts on the market some even when put side by side cant even different it.

here are a link for O2 sensor info or you can google if in search.
