bro, long time so see smile.gif

your Amsoil full syn, what's the specs? 5w-30? or 40? or 20? smile.gif

i'm on 5w-40 toyota full syn... really not much power... also the FC higher leh...
busy loh... so many new project and time line so short....
Yes AMSOIL is full sync, Mine since 1k ori oil from toyota mineral oil then from the 1st service shift to Amsoil SSO 0w30 and AZO 0w30 till now signature series really good...

last time my gf vios also using toyota sync and been complain FC low... then now use SSO 0w30 and AZO 0w30 FC able to archive around 500k on city drive if not too bad traffic jam.

QUOTE(frantic912 @ Jul 13 2012, 08:48 AM)
mine from full tank can go around 4xxKM n still have around 3/4 bar.....highway
from KL to Kedah....on street don't know la....hahaha
*
wah that very good...

QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Jul 13 2012, 09:58 AM)
my first bar also dropping... used to get around 80-90km... not 70+km first bar gone doh.gif
*
for the 1st bar on highway i able to archive max around 130km with speed of 110kmh for city driving between 80~100km depend how traffic condition.

QUOTE(dtna7 @ Jul 13 2012, 02:02 PM)
had the same issue when i was using "Toyota Full Syn", which is from "Pennzoil" doh.gif

Then change to Castrol, Shell, fully syn, still the same feeling. (Shell feels more powerful though)

Since then been using Amsoil.

My current Amsoil has last me 15k, without any feeling of dropping in power and FC high.
Amsoil comes with 25k miles guaranteed if you use their signature oil coupled with their nanofibre oil filter.

In case anyone didn't know this,
1 miles = 1.6km brows.gif

in love with Amsoil  wub.gif

thanks to bro vios2002.

I am now a loyal Amsoil user biggrin.gif
*
hehe ... good oil right... how you really enjoy... next i hope can reach hybrid class .... now still dreaming...

QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Jul 13 2012, 02:11 PM)
another Amsoil user, can give the specs of the oil and where to buy? servicing outside already is it?

oh... its 5w-30, no wonder more power... i think Toyota's full syn 5w-40 too gao... semi syn 5w-30 better leh...
*
you wan AMSOIL ... i got in stock ... hehe

To me been using amsoil Signature series 0w30 what i really like is after been continue none stop driving for 200km plus on highway without stop still have smooth power to accelerate when over take car....

QUOTE(kuman @ Jul 13 2012, 03:11 PM)
so Toyota Semi-Sync is 5W-30 ya?

since the Toyota Full Syn is 5w-40.. then might go with semi-sync la like that for the first 10k and judge it from there and see biggrin.gif

kuman
*
toyota full sync is just a normal sync 5w40 is just too thick for our little car... our manual recommend to use is 5w30... you can check our manual book.

bro you serviced your car at SC or outside? cos SC won't allow any foreign stuff leh?
swapping between SSO and AZO? or mix? SSO and AZO is not the Signature right?

same here... max 1st bar 130km highway max 120km/h, so proud lar cos that full tank was 5.9l/100km thumbup.gif
*
i never been to SC beside the 1st service when get my new car.... yes you can use foreign stuff as warranty issue.... Before AZO their top range is SSO 0w30 then recently AMSOIL just launch new range Signature the best quality is AZO for our daily use....

currently my engine, gearbox and radiator is using amsoil product.... tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

My vios is going into the 5th year with 100,000k mileage. The engine starts to have loud noise and some air choking sound when i press the pedal.

Just went for service and tune the car. When start engine it rev up to 2k to warm up the car. You guys had this tune before? Been using semi syn.

Any1 tested the fix it pro before? And the result?
*
few things to ask since a semi sync what brand and how is your service schedule for the past 5 years?
Got few suggestion can give to almost 100% re-stall but also depend to your engine condition.
1. Flush your engine & Transmission
2. Clear your Intake system from O2 sensor, throttle- body and intake valve.
3. If can get ODBII reader check is there any sensor reading error, if got replace.
4. Replace Spark plug, air filter, fuel filter(if needed) depend on condition.
5. Check radiator fluid if can replace (water pump depend on condition)

Above few item will be cheaper then Overhaul your engine and time needed.

As for normal service there is not engine tuning...maybe they just try to erase the sensor error code. Pls ask them what tuning is done?

QUOTE(dtna7 @ Jul 14 2012, 10:04 PM)
bro,
are u using ATF or ATL for the gearbox?

how many quarts did you filled in? 3?
if its 3 i believe only about half was filled into the transmission, as the torque converter was filled with the other half at any time.

do enlighten me thanks smile.gif
*
For your ATF i think still better use toyota ATF ... i think is WS ATF grade that indicate in the ATF stick. For nomally service ATF it need about 4 litter but there is some spare old oil in your AT... full flush ATF you need about 6~7 litter of ATF.

QUOTE(frantic912 @ Jul 15 2012, 01:01 AM)
ATF cooler anyone....?? i like to try but scare wasted my money if no improvement...
*
yes can install make sure they give your a good quality join and connector or else leaking is possible when oil pressure increase during driving.

QUOTE(iLegend @ Jul 15 2012, 10:51 AM)
*poisoned* Going to try out AMSOIL signature series fully synthetic for next service  laugh.gif
*
Good to hear that ... try to get your intake system clear 1st.... to max out what this oil can offer to our little car. may follow my above tips... tongue.gif tongue.gif

bro mind to share why you think WS ATF is better? blink.gif
Are you currently using Amsoil ATF? No good?  blink.gif

I would like to give Amsoil ATL a try as the reviews has been great as well.
I believe 3 quarts enough for partial flush. Since other forums discussing Yaris is doing that.
blush.gif
*
not to say WS ATF is better or what that time i dont have amsoil stock... so force to use WS ATF....

mine is a manual version so been using since new car... tongue.gif tongue.gif last check at about 50k of mileage .... the GB oil still very good the just color change from gold color to dark gold color... as they recommend to service at 100k mileage....

For AMSoil ATF please check their web page make sure same grade with WS ATF.... but of cause we know Amsoil have better quality... tongue.gif tongue.gif

3 quart is enough but it still left some old ATF in your AT.... so get more for totally replace...it feel better and a longer usage too... if 3 quart i think need to replace at 20k right?

QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Jul 16 2012, 10:58 AM)
and you are staying?
yes... your FC seriously fluctuating... and i thought my FC was high...

i'm working in MidValley and staying in Shah Alam... a good length of jam on Federal also also upon reaching Subang NKVE... around 30 mins per way
*
Life in big city is color full but traveling from point A to B is miserable not to forget need to service car even more earlier then the schedule car stop and go ...engine continue to run...

My friend drives BMW 5 series but he doesn't bother... pump ron95 only.... i wonder whether that will damage his engine? laugh.gif
*
most of the conti car they ECU minimum is use ROM91 so our country having ROM 95 not a issue... but if they drive decsil will have a problem cause our country still using euro 2 grade where Europe already use euro 5... we are really stone age...

alot ppl say will damage i dont think so ... my customer boss H3 and Bentley Continental Flying Spur also in RON 95...

Yeah. Think will get the bar to improve the handling first, then only goes for tyres.
*
yes lower your ride and have a better handling but when few passenger ride together the feel is from good to worse as car become too low....

QUOTE(amad108 @ Jul 20 2012, 12:09 PM)
If u dont want floaty but comfort that's kinda hard.. Stable while high speed need siffer suspension setup..
Sport spring maybe lower a bit ur ride but sacrifice a bit ur comfort, scared during highspeed not comfort at all

Added on July 20, 2012, 12:13 pmThe absorber setup that comfort n ride steadily last time felt in my wira using titan adjustable.. Thinking install to my vios but scared my wife n baby not comfort, price kinda expensive but u get wht u pay...
*
for titan on vios you can check my previous post if will be abit hard but not as hard other brand in the market... for rear suspension you can use stock spring with titan shock to reduce the stiffness.

Have a 2006-2007 Vios. Very bad fuel consumption and gutless power. Full tank can only go about 250-320 tops.
(Even worse than my 20yr+ 4age or my RB25  tongue.gif )

Checked the plugs and seems like they're fine and new. Any ideas ? Is this a common problem ? Its about 7xk millage only.

Thanks.
*
Try to check is there any error code? if new oil, plug is ok then most likely need to clean air flow sensor and maybe need to change O2 sensor.
