I will play Higuain instead of Tevez or Lavezzi any day. His off ball movement is much better. although he is Madrid player, gotta admit he is being grossly underrated.

@barca96,
Thanks for the link bro. I actually have read Anne's article sometime ago. But I decided not to post the links. I just can't see anyone from this thread be interested enough to read the lengthy articles (just check out Anne's comments, they are veeery long). Or are Arsenal fans be interested to read it? Naaahh, I don't feel they will read it, they've set their mind up. We just have to let them be. But can Anne's article change the mindset of the Gunners? I think yes, as I can see some positive response in the comment section. But it sure took A LOT of work by Anne. Just read her comments |

QUOTE Barça sign Alexis Sánchez Udinese and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement on the transfer of Alexis Sanchez. The cost of the deal is 26 million Euros with added variables of 11.5 million. The player is due in Barcelona this weekend. Medical tests and the signing of the contract, which is for five years, will take place on Monday. The 22 year old Chilean player is coming to Barça from the Italian club Udinese, where he’s played for the last three seasons. Last season he was voted best player in Serie A, after scoring 12 goals in 31 games. This summer (of 2011) he’s been playing in the Copa America for his country’s national team, who were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Venezuela. Alexis played a total of four games in which he scored 1 goal and where he was chosen MVP in two of the matches. Dazzled in Italy After his debut in the 2008/09 season with Udinese, where he played 95 games, the last two seasons have been the most prolific in terms of his play and goals. Last season he scored 12 goals, 4 of them in the same game, and has been sought by the best teams in the world. However, he has been strongly committed to playing for Barça. http://fcbarcelona.com/web/english/noticie...0720118483.html QUOTE(sliqueliques @ Jul 22 2011, 03:17 AM) I'm pretty sure we're working on Cesc transfer This post has been edited by matyrze: Jul 22 2011, 06:11 AM |

IINM technically Alexis hasn't signed the contract yet, that will happen on Monday. He also hasn't undergone the medical check up yet. But we have struck a deal with Udinese and his agent, so bar any hiccups during the checkup, it is officially a 99.99% done deal
So now, as we're done with Alexis, we can expect full force negotiation with Arsenal after this? I think we've saved a significant chunk of our transfer fee by 'just' paying 26ME, instead of 35 or 40 rumored earlier. Adding the money from Bojan transfer ( sad |

QUOTE Bojan, transferred to AS Roma FC Barcelona and AS Roma have reached an agreement for the sale of Bojan Krkic for 12 million euros. The player will be giving a press conference at 13.30 in the Ricard Maxenchs pressroom at the Camp Nou. The Italian outfit will pay 12 million for the player and the agreement includes an obligatory repurchase clause to be exercised by FC Barcelona at the end of the 2012/13 season, for a cost of 13 million. This purchase can be blocked by AS Roma, but in such a case the overall cost of the transfer will rise to 40 million euros. http://www.fcbarcelona.cat/web/english/not...0712118387.html I am sad, seeing him leaving. I still remember how he rose up to the first team. It's been 4 years, so there were many stories we can tell. About his scoring phenomenon with youth team, how he and Gio rose together, how Bojan was the reason Gio left, his brilliant performance when the likes of Ronnie and Henry struggled upfront. He pretty good job at reducing Ibra into bench job too. Had high hopes for him. Oh well...... |

QUOTE(sepulse @ Jul 22 2011, 10:57 PM) I really hope that his fate will not be like Gio at Spurs. In other words his progress will heavily depends on Luis. If he got kicked out and some Italian comes in,Bojan will be in a lot of trouble. |

Rumors are persistent about Oriol Romeu depart for Chelsea, as backup for the troubled Essien. Some of the details, as usual provided by barcastuff:
Barcelona will be able to buy Oriol Romeu back from Chelsea in the first 2 years for 8M. In the 3rd year they will have a 1st option [sport] |

QUOTE(barca96 @ Jul 26 2011, 12:50 AM) im not talking about writing more stories about other countries or teams from a certain country. Please get use to it. Hypocrisy is everywhere, even in our daily life. Xavi even said once that footballers are bunch of 'selfish' people. One may say too much, or do something that he shouldn't have. It applies to everybody. For me, the reason of the saga around Cesc is because of Cesc himself. Barca won't chase him if he is not interested in joining us. His silent stance also triggered insecurity among Gunners. Wenger get angry with Xavi because he say Cesc told him that he is unsettled. Why does Wenger not blame Cesc for talking to someone outside of Arsenal instead? Diverting attention? I think Wenger is really quite good at that, it's proven i was talking about double standards. berita harian/kosmo must publish more news from other countries like singapore,philipine or thailand instead of local@malaysia news? i presume that this is what you meant kosmo=espn star spore=other leagues. so espnstar should write more about LOCAL news? what is local? where? are you saying because "espnstar" is an English based news portal and it shouldn't write more stories about other leagues? http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/ju...ted-samir-nasri tapping up? Some good football, but still pretty much a warm up match wasn't it? The players were actually pretty relaxed.

QUOTE Barcelona report smaller pre-tax loss than expected MADRID, July 26 (Reuters) - Barcelona made a smaller loss than expected last season and are confident of returning to profit in the 2011-12 campaign after two years of deficits, vice-president for economic affairs Javier Faus said on Tuesday. La Liga The Spanish and European champions posted a pre-tax loss of 9.3 million euros ($13.5 million) in the year to the end of June, less than half the 21.4 million euros expected and down from 83 million euros in the year-earlier period, Faus said. Winning the Champions League, the club's new sponsorship deal with Qatar Foundation, a strong turnout at the Camp Nou stadium and a surge in visitors to the club's museum had helped trim the deficit, he added. "Our obligation is to make a profit from next season and we will do that," he said. "For the first time in two years we will present a budget that foresees profit." In a separate statement on their website (www.fcbarcelona.cat), Barca said the sales of players Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Dmytro Chygrynskiy and Martin Caceres for much less than they cost had contributed to losses of 44.2 million euros, without which the club would have posted a pre-tax profit of 33.5 million. Operating income rose to 473.4 million euros, an increase of 14 percent compared with the 2009-10 season, while costs were up 10.4 percent to 472.6 million euros, made higher by win bonuses to players following the club's domestic and European successes. Net debt fell to 363.7 million euros from 430.6 million. http://football.uk.reuters.com/leagues/pri...6/LDE76P1OJ.php The news hardly explains in detail about our financial condition, but it's enough to say it is improving |

Please guys, it's just a friendly. Personally, I no longer have the appetite to follow Barca's preseason after watching Audi Cup. Its just a set of games that the B players can prove something to Pep. This is the only chance for players like Carmona, Soriano and Riverola to play together with Iniesta and Villa.

Replacing Xavi? He still has a lot to learn though. Xavi's great because he knows how to play simple in order to keep possession, hence reducing errors. Thiago need to include this simplicity into his game.

It is important for our youngsters to learn that ability. I think the motivation is very tempting; those who succeeds is guaranteed of 1st team slot for around 7-8 years or so. No matter who the new guy would be, Thiago, Sergi Roberto, Samper, or Cesc, it is compulsory to have direct replacement for Xavi.

Nope, it's a sign of us declining. We've lost 2 competitive matches on the trot, the latest heavily against a team of the Segunda standard. Must be an encouraging sign for haters
