We are Righteous through Faith Part 1In the new testament, you will find that you are no longer righteous through obedience of the 10 commandments but only through Faith.
This is the new covenant of the grace of Jesus Christ. It is a gift to begin with. Something you will never be able to earn but it is given to you freely.
It is very important for you to know this because it will effect your Life as a victor in Christ or a victim in Self.
God has made it in such a way because if it depends on your performance, your obedience according to the Law of the 10 commandments,
there will never be any assurance you can make it. Your Salvation will never be sure because it will depend on your righteousness which really depends on your performance. One moment up one moment down. Your mood swings changes as you live your life everyday.
There is a process of Life transformation for those who are in Christ but it will take time. So what happens in the mean time while you're in that process, you fall from grace and sin? Let say you died in the process and you're not able to confess your sin in time. So how? You end in eternal condemnation? No. This is a very grossly erroneous teaching from preachers who teaches the Law.
The Blood of Jesus is eternal redemption. (Hebrew 10:17) There is no such thing mention in the Bible that it is your effort in obedience to the Law or your confession of sin that makes you righteous and redeemed. That is only true in the Old Testament! New Testament is all about the gospel of Grace.
The Devil is the Father of all Lies and will continue to confuse Christian from knowing the true grace which is found in the New Testament. He would love to have Christians stuck in the Old Testament way so that they are constantly in bondage to performance based righteousness (The Flesh).
That is the reason why Jesus came to release from the curse of the Law (Galatians 3:13). The Bible says it is by One Man's obedience, many will be made righteous. (Romans 5:19). So if it is Jesus obedience that makes you righteous and accepted by God the Father. Why would your righteousness matter? Think about it.
Your focus must be right because Right believing will produce Right Living. Romans 12:2 says be transformed by the renewing of your mind not by your effort. The Greek word for Repentance means change of your mind (
Metanoia). Once you know the Truth, you will live right. Obedience will be the fruit not the root. Once you know you are righteous by Faith and not by your works of obedience, the devil cannot condemn you. He has no hold over you. (Romans 8:1). Once you understand this Truth, the promises of God will come effortlessly (Romans 4:13) because the Bible says very clearly in James 5:16 The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. You are righteous by Faith. You are qualified in James 5:16.
God has given us all these advantage in Life through Christ Jesus. Be Set Free.
God Bless
We are Righteous through Faith Part 2Abraham lived under the era of God's grace before the 10 commandment was introduced. It was only after the 10 commandments was given, the whole world was put under the curse of the law where if you transgressed, you pay for it. (Ezekiel 18:20). Do good, get good, do bad get beat.
But under Grace, Abraham did not suffer as those who are under the law of the 10 commandments even though he did wrong. Abraham lived about 400 years before the Law was given.
If you know the history of Abraham, there was more or less 3 accounts of events where he has fallen from grace.
1. He lied to the Pharaoh of Egypt about his Wife saying as Sister for feared for his life. (Genesis 12:13)
2. He didn't wait for God for Isaac and laid with his maid servant commanded by his wife giving birth to Ishmael. (Genesis 16:2)
3. He lied to King Abimelech the same as Pharoah about his wife as sister (Genesis 20:2)
And yet the very first blessings given to Abraham was God made him very rich in Cattle, Silver and Gold (Genesis 13:1). God prospered Him.( Who says God is not for prospering?) Wait a minute, this liar became wealthy and God protected him and his wife when it should be him who should be punished for lying and giving in to disappointment and disbelief from the wife. (Genesis 16:2). And God called Abraham who just lied, a prophet. (Genesis 20:7)
Didn't I hear people say God cannot tolerate Sin and will judicially punish those who sin according to what they've done? It's should be worse in the Old Testament because Jesus did not come yet. So What happened? Grace happened. (Romans 5:20) Abraham lived in the period of grace before the 10 commandment was given. The Old Testament is the shadow of copy of the things to come. God was demonstrating what is grace all about.
The 10 commandments was never the heart of God. That was never his intention in the first place. It is only when Israel boasted they can do all that God commands, God totally change his tone and became extremely strict and gave them the 10 commandments. God hates self righteousness. That was what Israel did. They wanted to come to God their own way.
The 10 commandment cannot make you righteous. It's sole purpose is to bring Man to the end of himself. And it's proven, nobody could fulfilled the perfect Law. (There is no one righteous,
not even one). (Romans 3:1).
So Please do not go back to the 10 commandments. Study the Bible from A-Z.
So what is the New Covenant of Jesus Christ? It's all about grace and faith. You are saved by grace and justified through Faith in Jesus Christ. Why?
Because Only He could fulfilled the Law perfectly. By putting your faith in Him, God will credit your Faith as righteousness just as He credit Abraham's.
There is a safety valve in this Gospel of grace. When you understand and believe right, The Holy Spirit will come and guide you into all Truth. He will teach you why you shouldn't sin, why money cannot satisfy, etc.
God Bless.
6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
16 Do not put the Lord your God to the test as you did at Massah. 17 Be sure to keep the commands of the Lord your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you.
Paul again: What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Romans 6:15
So grace, is not a license to continue to sin. We are not condemned while we are waiting to be cleansed,
but per Paul again, we have to continue to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Philippians 2:12
a few verses from the Bible about grace and twisting them to mean salvation, while ignoring the preponderance of other verses throughout the Bible that totally change their meaning considered alone; by promoting "instant salvation by faith and grace," they excuse evil to be good, they make black white; and they ask you to pay them money for their error, even when they are specifically forbidden to take money. 1 Pet 5:2. And Acts 20:29-31 tells us: Even from among your own selves men will come to the front who, by saying perverse (distorted and corrupt) things, will endeavor to draw away the disciples after them. They were taught by Bible Colleges rather than by Christ himself. See a few of George Fox's writings on these blind guides. Instant grace is the broad way that leads to destruction, vs. the narrow way that is contracted by pressure that leads to life, which few will find.
