Do you know what is a Yoke ?

The yoke is what you put unto a cow yoked with another cow together to pull, if 1 is a believer and the other is non believer.

E.g you are a christian and your wife is not, 1 wants to go to church but the other person does not goes to church. You practice faith but she does not practice, in the end, it will only hinder your walk with God and in the end it will destroy you.

I dun agree wif you.

I am a christian and my wife is not will not hinder my walk with god and destroy me. If this is the case then that person is a weak christian.

I want to go to church and my wife doesnt want to go to church. I can go to church by myself and she can go to her own religion place of worship. Whats the point of forcing your partner to go to chruch when they dont really want to?

I believe in God doesnt mean i have to force others to believe in my God. If other dont believe in my God doesnt mean it will destroy me.

The reason u give is just a failed relationship using religion as an excuse.

Is it true that if I am a guy, I cannot pray and intercede for a girl?

e.g I go to a female and lay hands on her to pray for her.

Nothing wrong IMO.
Just make sure you do it in public and lay your hand correctly on the head.  laugh.gif

Oh I did. But my hands were on her shoulder instead.

I was reprimanded by a more "Senior" Christian who said it's best to leave this to a female "leader" to do prayer for "female" follower although we have the same holy spirit unless the "Preacher" is a male then he's allowed to lay hands on a female.

I was like in my mind "huh ? then how did Jesus first minister to females? he must be a girl then in order to do this ?"

QUOTE(unknown warrior @ Apr 4 2012, 10:42 AM)
Normally laying of hand are pointed directly to the person and you don't have to necessary touch anyone.

It can be done from a distance and still be effective. I do pray for Male and Female and most of the time I do it from a distance without touching.

This actually have to do with the Flesh. And if you suspect as to why, yes it also has to do with temptations of the flesh.

Physical contact is after all very personal space for some. Some people, even a normal pat on the back, they are overwhelm in emotions. Girls are emotional creatures.

Best not to arouse any potential "whatever".

The scripture did mention that even a bad thought about somebody is equivalent to murder. Why? Because from thoughts, it give birth to consequential effects that leads to actions. That is why Jesus says if your hands cause you to steal, it's better to chop it off. Jesus is speaking figuratively to cut off your thoughts before anything happens.
Although this sounds kinda extreme, but all scripture is God inspired and it is the truth.

Don't feel bad or discourage, give yourself time, you will come to see the understanding of it as you mature.
Leaders are God appointed and they have been given authority to pray, to bless, etc. Yes in that sense they pray for all. But even their laying of hands are normally done on the head, no where else. But you notice most Preachers or Leaders are of aged and they are experience.

The scripture says
This scripture is basically saying we are to submit to Church Elders and Leaders because they are ordained by God.

But if you humble yourself by being obedient, God will raise you up to a higher position to minster to others. God is indeed looking for the right candidate who can stay in the spot light and yet not get burned. Humble yourself.  smile.gif
I hope the explanation helps.

P.S: I'm not saying you cannot pray and intercede for a girl. Just do it in a group of believers and as above, stretch your hands without contact.
God Bless.

hmm.gif hmm ok, looks like things got complicated.

Anyway my intentions were pure and I did it with other group of believers around so.... yeah anyway I still feel it's a little too strict.

It's as if saying that "if I touch any girl, I will feel sexually arouse" or like you said "the girl will feel emotional".

Gosh sleep.gif even I do feel emotional when a guy pray to me, does that mean I am literally gay? No, it's the Holy Spirit that is dealing with me.

Hey I got a question here
1 Corinthians 5:11
"But now I write to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of [Christian] brother if he is known to be guilty of immorality or greed, or is an idolater [whose soul is devoted to any object that usurps the place of God], or is a person with a foul tongue [railing, abusing, reviling, slandering], or is a drunkard or a swindler or a robber. [No] you must not so much as eat with such a person."

So this chapter basically talks about paul telling the corinthian about sexual immorality. Then he goes saying the verse above.

But I thought we should eat with sinners but why is Paul saying otherwise ya ?

I know he's trying to tell corinthian not to talk or eat with another so called "Brother/Sister" who has commited adultery/incest

in Christianity, you are freely to choose which side you wanted to be... we cannot force you and this is your decisions and choices... but the end result you must bare with what you had chosen...

Christians only able to encourage you to stay in your faith. Because they know, when you away from God, you life will be miserable when you can't foreseen your future..

religion is not a matter, what matter is the relationship yourself and God...

1 Corinthian 7:

12 To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her.13 And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him.14 For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.

15 But if the unbeliever leaves, let it be so. The brother or the sister is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace.16 How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or, how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?

Well I believe this is up to each own conviction.

The bible only says the body is the temple where God dwells therefore that temple is sanctified and holy.

The scriptures says to honor the temple.

That means no mutilation or those crazy self inflict cutting, prostitution, etc and the likes.

yeah i know that, I'm just asking because my colleague who is a believer is putting on a tattoo on her arm.

I want to face palm sleep.gif

You think? biggrin.gif

It's not to do or not ... right or wrong tongue.gif

Just follow your inner sense of life / anointing in your spirit which is regulated by the law of Spirit of life. If the Spirit says no, then don't.

Leviticus 18:29

"'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.
New Living Translation (©2007)
"Do not cut your bodies for the dead, and do not mark your skin with tattoos. I am the LORD.

English Standard Version (©2001)
You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the LORD.

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
'You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the LORD.

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)
Never slash your body to mourn the dead, and never get a tattoo. I am the LORD.

God is not nearly as concern that you threat people right with love rather than observing law to appear religious.

It's also important to make sure that whatever you do does not cause a weaker brother/sister to stumble/fall when they see what you're doing.

If it is not God's desire that you should have a tattoo or not then don't put on a tattoo.

Added on April 10, 2012, 2:10 pmI also think that, yes although we now live by Grace but God did not abolish the law in the new testament, He came to fulfil it.

Matthew 5:17
New International Version (©1984)
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

You can't say "oh we live by grace now, we can ignore the law of GRAVITY", we can try jumping down from buildings now since we are not under the law. That's wrong, the LAW still applies. It's there to guide us

30 “Therefore, you Israelites, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. 31 Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, people of Israel? 32 For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent and live!
