QUOTE(kenmirzz @ Apr 12 2012, 02:12 PM)
God bless you, too. But that does not in any way answer my question. Original Sin is a pagan concept. Sacrifice the Son through His blood cleanse ous sins, that's very illogical.
*
Romans 3:25
For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past,

In the past, Man had to sacrifice animal and let their blood flow in order to have their sin to be forgiven. But Jesus is the LAMB of GOD which had committed no sin and was obedient to the point of death and he bear all of our sin and the blood of lamb will forever flow to forgive the sin of mankind as long as they believed in the name of Jesus.

Added on April 12, 2012, 2:18 pm"Hebrews 9:22 says, "Without shedding of blood there is no remission." I John 1:7 tells us that "The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin." God, in choosing the cleansing agent for our sins, chose the very best that He had, the blood of His own Son. It is by the precious blood of our Lord, that we are cleansed from all of our sins. Revelation 1:5 says, "To Him who loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood." Yes, it is only by the blood of our Lord, that we get our sins washed away. John 19:34, "But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out." Jesus shed His blood for us, in His death, when He died on the cruel cross of Calvary.

How do we come into contact with that cleansing blood, which our Lord shed in his death, in order to have our sins washed away? Romans 6:3 tells us how. "Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?" Since Christ shed His blood in His death, when a person is baptized into our Lord's death, it is there that he comes into contact with the blood of Christ and his sins are then washed away. Baptism is the only means of reaching His death where His blood was shed, so we can have forgiveness of sins. So, when Ananias told Paul in Acts 22:16, "And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized and wash away your sins," it was the blood of Christ that washed away Paul's sins when he was baptized.

Have you been baptized to have your sins washed away by the blood of Christ? If you haven't, then you still have every sin that you have ever committed. With your sins you can't go to heaven to be with God when you die, but you will have to go to the other place where there will be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth forever and ever. You may have been baptized into a denominational church, but not for remission of your sins so you can be saved. If you have not been baptized for the remission of your sins, so that you can be saved, then the blood of Christ will be of no benefit to you, and Christ’s death for you was in vain. But please take advantage of Christ having died for you. Only you can do this for yourself."

Patrick, you're asking Why God allow bad things to happen to Christians right?
You must remember we have a common Enemy, Satan.

The bad things that happens in this world are the result of the power of Sin and attacks of the enemy. As you said, like rape, murder, etc.

Earlier I've done a devotion that our Enemy attacks Christian more aggressively compare to Non Believers. And Why Us and Not them?
QUOTE
Luke 22:31
Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat

This verse tells us, Satan is more concern on Christians.
Because for one, we are born again. Christian who are mature spiritually are dangerous to the devil and his kingdom.
We cause damage by advancing the Kingdom of God and cause a decline to theirs.

What about Non believers?
Non Believers are already dead spiritually and lost, so the enemy don't really need to focus so much on them. Maybe they'll just keep maintain them in being lost through the world's system like pornography, lust, new age teaching, religion, etc.

That is why. smile.gif

The enemy can only attack you when you are ignorant of who God is and his words in the Bible. Understand that God is not the one who tempt anyone with Evil situation.
QUOTE
(James 1:13)
When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;

At time God allow situation that causes death to Christian. But Honestly, if you're a Christian, I don't see why should anyone feel sad about Death, because for Christian Death is actually a way into victory of Eternal Life in Heaven where there is no more tears but joy. So there's really nothing bad as you can see it from this point of view.

I believe it's important for new Christians are still in babies stage to be familiar with the Bible ASAP. Do you know why?
The Bible is the sword of the spirit, God's Weapon, the only thing that defeats the enemy.

Every Child of God has this promise.

QUOTE
Romans 8:31

If God is for us, who can be against us?

QUOTE
Romans 8:28

And we know that in ALL things God works for the good of those who love him

There are many more verses.

If there's any Christian who are in a helpless or dire situation, First know your Bible verses and God's promises to protect you and deliver you out.

Fact of the matter is, Know that in every situation, you already have victories.

God Bless.

Instead of giving up, you should press on the LIVE for Jesus everyday.

Feed his people (The poor, the blind, the weak), Be the salt and light of the world, tell them that there is a God and it is Jesus. Let your love be a testimony to those who are despair.

Morning Devotion

I have food to eat that you know nothing about

The first time Jesus ever hinted about another type of food is in the temptation of 40 days by Satan.

QUOTE
Matthew 4:4

Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

Let us established that We all need food to sustain our body. It is our source of energy. Without Food we will die of malnutrition. That's a physical Fact.

And here we have our Lord Jesus literally talking about another type of sustenance Food which I believe without eating or drinking of it, we will be malnutrition of the spiritual man. That is a spiritual Fact and Jesus wasn't speaking figuratively.

Jesus was sustained by God's word despite the undeniable physical hunger. I believe Jesus is teaching us something here.

In another instance, where Jesus talk with a Samaritan Woman,

The Bible says Jesus was tired from the journey and sat at the well.

QUOTE
John 4:4-6
Now he had to go through Samaria. So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

Jesus asked that woman for a drink and to cut the story short we know in the scripture, Jesus was ministering to her about Him being the Living Water of Eternal Life. When his disciple came back to offer him Food, here Jesus mentioned again.

QUOTE
John 4:27-32

Just then his disciples returned and were surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asked, “What do you want?” or “Why are you talking with her?”

Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” They came out of the town and made their way toward him.

Meanwhile his disciples urged him, “Rabbi, eat something.”

But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”

Why would Jesus says something like that, not unless He has already partaken some sort of Food while Ministering to the Samaritan Woman and The Woman Partake in return. He must have been invigorated after this.

One more instance where the crowd of people gathered around Jesus after the feeding of the 5000 multitude. Here Jesus explains He is the Bread of Eternal Life and He spoke about Eating his Flesh and Drinking His Blood.

QUOTE
John 6:53-56
Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.

So we see that Jesus constantly tells us we need this type of Food. But question remain How does Christian partake of this food? The popular answer would be to feed on the word of God. That is partially correct.

Here we have Jesus beautifully giving us the revelation of how.

QUOTE
John 6:36
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.
Food and Drink.

1. Daily come to Jesus and spend time with him in prayer and quiet time. That is your Food.
2. Believe in Him, Believe in God's word. That is your Drink.

Daily and consistence practices of these 2 will accelerate your spiritual Inner Man.

I hope this helps.

God Bless.

Loving Father
Luke 15:1-32
Jesus shocked and offended the religious leaders: ‘By this time a lot of men and women of doubtful reputation were hanging around Jesus, listening intently. The Pharisees and religion scholars were not pleased, not at all pleased. They growled, “He takes in sinners and eats meals with them, treating them like old friends.” Their grumbling triggered this story’ (vv.1–3, MSG).

Jesus tells three parables to show that God cares desperately about the lost. If you have ever lost anything of value, searched frantically and then found it, you will remember the joy experienced when you found what is lost. Jesus says that that joy pales into insignificance compared to the joy of heaven.

The story of the lost sheep shows that ‘there’s more joy in heaven over one sinner’s rescued life than over ninety-nine good people in no need of rescue’ (v.7, MSG). The story of the lost coin shows ‘the kind of party God’s angels throw every time one lost soul turns to God’ (v.10, MSG).

Then, in probably the greatest short story ever told, Jesus gives us another astonishing picture of what God is like. God is a loving father.

In the parable of the Lost Son, the younger son requests his inheritance while the father is still alive and in good health. In traditional Middle Eastern culture this is equivalent to saying, ‘Father, I am eager for you to die!’ A traditional Middle Eastern father would strike the boy across the face and drive him out of the house. It is an outrageous request, which a father is expected to refuse.

But the father in this parable does not behave like a traditional, Middle Eastern patriarch. In an act of extraordinary love, he breaks tradition and gives his son the freedom to sell his portion of the estate (this would have brought shame on the family before the entire community). The son ‘got together all he had’ (v.13), in other words he ‘turned it into cash’. Then he set off (v.13) and left the town as quickly as possible.

So many people today, myself included, have experienced what the younger son found while away from his father. He was wasting his life (‘squandered his wealth in wild living’, v.13). ‘He began to hurt’ (v.14, MSG). He was enslaved (‘hired himself out’, v.15). He felt empty inside (‘he longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating’, v.16). He felt alone in this world (‘no one gave him anything’, v.16).

Returning to his father was not an irrational act. It was the opposite – ‘he came to his senses’ (v.17). It was the sensible thing to do. He decided to swallow his pride and go back to his father (v.18). He was prepared to admit his sin. He planned to say to his father, ‘I have sinned … I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants’ (vv.18–19).

Then he took a step of faith, ‘So he got up and went to his father’ (v.20). He did not know what would happen. At the time of Jesus Jews had a method of punishing any boy who lost the family inheritance to Gentiles. If he dared to return, the villagers would bring a large earthenware jar, fill it with nuts and corn and break it in front of the guilty individual. The people would shout that the person was cut off from his people. From then on, the village would have nothing to do with the wayward son.

In Jesus’ story, the father realises full well how his son will be treated in the village when he returns in failure. The father also prepares a plan – to reach the boy before the boy reaches the village. He knows that if he is able to achieve reconciliation with his son in public, no one in the village will treat the prodigal badly.

God’s love is extraordinary. While the boy is still a long way off, his father sees him. It appears that he has been waiting, watching, and has never forgotten. ‘His heart pounding, he ran out, embraced him, and kissed him’ (v.20, MSG). The word used implies that he kissed him over and over again.

As the son begins his prepared speech of repentance, the father interrupts. He treats him as an honoured guest, giving him the best robe (v.22). He gives him a sign of confidence by putting the family ring on his finger (v.22, MSG). He puts sandals, reserved not for slaves but for sons, on his feet (v.22). He plans a lavish celebration (vv.23–24).

We get a glimpse here of what God is like. Again, we see the picture of the kingdom of heaven being like a party. This is the opposite of what many people think. They do not associate God with music and dancing, feasting and celebrating.

God’s love extends also to the older son who goes into ‘an angry sulk’ (v.28, MSG) and is begrudging of his brother’s forgiveness and acceptance. We can imagine the father putting his arm around him and saying, ‘Son, you don't understand. You’re with me all the time, and everything that is mine is yours – but this is a wonderful time, and we had to celebrate. This brother of yours was dead, and he’s alive! He was lost, and he’s found!’ (vv.31–32, MSG). Through the story Jesus tells us and his description of God, we reach the pinnacle of God’s revelation of himself.

Lord, thank you so much for this amazing picture of your lavish love for us. Thank you that, whether we have led a wild life or a good life, you love us passionately. You have compassion on us. You want to embrace us as a father embraces a child, and kisses them over and over again. Thank you, Lord, that when we mess up, you don’t reject us. The moment we come back to you, you accept us and say, ‘Let’s have a feast and celebrate’ (v.23).

Yup. The Bible is a book on eating ... nom nom nom biggrin.gif

After God created man, God did not say that man needed life or salvation. Neither did He say that man needed to love and obey God. Nor did He say that man needed to be humble or to be peaceable. After God created man, He put man in a garden, and He placed man before the tree of life, telling him in effect, "Eat! Eat! Eat!"

Finally, at the end of Revelation you see the New Jerusalem with a river of water and the tree of life growing on both sides of the river. There is a verse in the last chapter of Revelation that says, "Blessed are those who wash their robes that they may have right to the tree of life" (v. 14). Therefore, we see that eating and drinking the Lord is our destiny. This is God's ordination. If you do anything else or have any other choice, you will find death. God's ordination is our destiny. We should not have our own choice.

You should go on to consider that in answering the self-righteous Pharisees and scribes who condemned the Savior for eating with the sinners, He spoke three parables unveiling and depicting how the Divine Trinity works to bring sinners back through the Son by the Spirit to the Father. The Son came in His humanity as the Shepherd to find the sinner as a lost sheep and bring it back home (vv. 4-7). The Spirit seeks the sinner as a woman seeks carefully one lost coin until she finds it (vv. 8-10). And the Father receives the repenting and returned sinner as a certain man receives his prodigal son (vv. 11-32). The entire Divine Trinity treasures the sinner and participates in bringing him back to God. All three parables emphasize the love of the Divine Trinity more than the fallen condition and repentance of the penitent sinner. The divine love is fully expressed in the Son’s tender care as the good Shepherd, in the Spirit’s fine seeking as the treasure lover, and in the Father’s warm receiving as a loving father.

I watch Your wonders fill the sky
Over the mountains reaching high
The same majesty floods my life
I stand in awe

Lovely, there is none more lovely
In all the universe, there is no one lovelier
Worthy, there is none more worthy
I try to find the words, there's so much more Your worthy of

Up on the cross with open arms
The love of God reaches far
The same majesty floods my heart
I stand in awe

As long as I live, I'll praise You
Name above all, be lifted high
All of my days, I worship You
I worship You

Lovely, You are lovely
There is no one, there is no one more worthy
You are worthy
I try to find the words, there is no one lovelier
