Hi! I've been using Dermalogica for about 6 months now, and it's simply wonderful for my sensitive skin! I'm currently using the basics:

Ultracalming Cleanser
Special Cleansing Gel
Eve Taylor Face Oils no 1 and no 3
Multi-active toner
Active Moist

I need advice on sun protection. My skin is oily, especially on the T-zone, and also sensitive. Have developed some freckles along the way too. icon_question.gif Please advise on the sun protection and also a quote please.

Thanks! biggrin.gif

Hi wern,
Yes dermalogica works well for many ladies and gentlemen out there wub.gif

with your current skin condition, the prds u were using works fine. for solar defense system, you can try the following:

ultra sensitive faceblock spf25,52ml
retail RM128(113)
skin condition: dry and environmentally-sensitized
A super-emollient moisturizer free of chemical sunscreens to protect against moisture loss while giving the skin a natural wash of color.

solar defense booster spf30,30ml
retail RM178(157)
skin condition: all
Add full-spectrum protection to your moisturizer or foundation by mixing equal parts, or use alone for an SPF30.

Sunlight is without a doubt your skin's worst enemy, bombarding it on a daily basis with the UVA and UVB rays that cause premature aging and skin cancer.
above shown retail selling with discounted in bracket.

Thanks for the advice. biggrin.gif The ultra sensitive faceblock spf25 sounds great. However, I'm also concerned about the oiliness of my face, as I find normal drugstore moisturisers with sunscreen (Olay Total Effects, Loreal Advanced fluid protector) to be too oily for my skin. They cause breakouts for me cry.gif Active moist is just right for me, not too oily. But no sunscreen.

I read about the Dermalogica oil free matte block spf20 too, is it available in M'sia? Can you please help and advise on the 'oiliness' of ultra sensitive faceblock spf25 and oil free matte block spf20?

Thanks biggrin.gif

Yes the ultra sensitive faceblock spf25 is right for your skin condition. But oiliness may defer from every individual perspective. As some of the buyers with the same skin condition do have using this sunscreen, where some saying the solar defense booster is good as not oily. The oil free matte block spf20 is not available in malaysia yet^^ should u have any further concern,i would suggest you to go for face mapping at any LD outlet, test on the sample for these sunscreen !! And also you can get other cleanser sample~

hi rayanne, i'm actually from malaysianbabes forum. but since u r more active here, i've decided to register another account here...hee smile.gif

i have a problem with using the dermalogica product. i just started dermalogica for about two months. i went for a facial and the gal said i have dry skin with occational breakout and recommended me
essential cleansing solution
active moist
multiactive toner
solar defence booster
(with twice a week gentle cream exfoliant/ daily microfoliant and skin hydrating mask)
and my face really improve from that. i was so happy that i went to buy the bigger bottle ones for the second month....and i went to other dealer shop, she recommended me another regimen (added some more...),
morning:
essential cleansing solution
soothing protective spray
active moist
solar defence booster
night:
double cleansing (i use ZA deep cleansing oil and essential clansing solution)
soothing protective spray/ multiactive toner
gentle soothing booster
skin smoothing cream
(with twice a week gentle cream exfoliant/ daily microfoliant and skin hydrating mask)
but now, i can feel that my face started to have some small bumps (i think is whitehead) all over my forehead area and some on my cheek (previously my cheek really nice and smooth, no problem at all de)....now like become worse and worse....how ar? i don't know which product is wrong over here.....

Sharvyn,
I would suggest you keep the 1st regimen:

essential cleansing solution
active moist
multiactive toner/soothing protection spray
solar defence booster
Twice a week gentle cream exfoliant/ daily microfoliant and skin hydrating mask

But since u have occasional breakouts, try to stop skin smoothing cream and dont over apply solar defense booster(morning before you go out). First you chose the active moist just perfect,as this moisturiser is oil-free! For toner, both is working fine, just soothing pro spray is for sensitive skin,i believe its ok..and since u have purchased that too. another concern is i m not sure if u combining to use ZA cleanser with essential create any effects o not..cos both using different formula/ingredients. But for dermalogica eesential cleansing solution,i think this is ok as base on ur current skin condition, this is working fine, not too oily not too dry.

oh ya, rayanne...one more thing i wanna ask.
about the special cleansing gel, i can see that many of them using it with another cleanser as double cleanser... but can this special clansing gel stand on it's own as a cleanser? i mean, can i just use it independently as a cleanser ?

Hi there rayanne

congrats on this great site...i am newly introduced to dermalogica products and am keen to use it. i have combination skin that can be quite oily at certain area, especially T-zone but dry at other places with occasional acne breakout...

I have tried out the skin kit for normal/dry skin - using only the special cleansing gel/multi-active toner. I've also just bought the oily skin kit - to try out the dermal clay cleanser and oil control lotion. The beautician told me that I can just use special cleansing gel on its own so no need to double cleanse. But if I use the dermal clay, she suggest i use together with ultra-calming cleanse. Also to mix oil control lotion and active moist as sometimes my skin can become quite dry.

Thanks
Mich

I have also tried out many mini samples also - ultra-calming, essential cleansing and pre-cleanse, active moist, hydrating mask, daily microfoliant, oil control lotion.
Now I am quite confused as to which product is suitable for me?

I quite like the special cleansing gel and multi-active toner but feel the active moist is too oily but the beautician said it is just water. I am trying to decide whether to get the big-sized bottles but unsure which one I shld go for. Any advise? Thanks

Hi mich,
In my point of view, with your current skin condition, you can take special cleansing gel(good to remove excess oil),multiactive toner and active moist(oil-free base moisturiser, apply a 10cent dab balance on face only, not too much) for basic regimen. Then you can think of whether to take Daily microfoliant for dead cells exfoliate, follow by skin hydrating masque to boost up skin hydration.

The beautician is right,if u were taking dermal clay,to avoid its too harsh for your skin cond,u might need to follow by ultracalming cleanser. But i would see u can only use special cleansing is ok-nah.^^

For the daily microfoliant, is best u mix with your dermalogica cleanser for application. else u can add in water to mix as become "gel".Dispense about half-teaspoon of powder into very wet hands, and create paste by rubbing hands together. Apply to face in circular motions, avoiding the eye area. Massage gently for one minute, then rinse thoroughly. Use twice weekly follow by hydating masque.
