There are ramber (ppc app), diglyod hardware test, xbench, Geekbench.
You can also try pushing the memory usage. Then use Activity Monitir to see the usage.

Send to service. Could be your battery, charger or PMU chip. Have you try reset PMU and SMC?

@dlaz, blindly doing upgrade won't be the solutions.

You have to tell us more about your Mac before we can give you some guide.

Which model is your 15"?
What spec?
How much free HDD space you have?
Are you having custom fonts installed? How you install them and how many?
Does it slow down on specific file or any file you do? Which app in specific? Photoshop/ AI/ InDesign??

@wei, ive already done the disk repair and the last combo updater but still the boot up time is 1min compare to previously was sub 30sec.
any other solution bro? do i need to reboot or restore the os?

Hard to say. But we normally suggest fresh install in this case. Then only move documents and data. Not the systems and apps.

No wonder I never noticed. It's dated 2009. The adapter you buy will most likely running newer firmware that doesn't need the said update.

Try switchresx, this app can give you more control over display setting. But do proceed with caution.

To ensure most battery shipped out will get 100% minimum of the suggested capacity. The battery are actually manufactured higher than what listed. Or in another word, Apple list the battery capacity lower than what manufactured. This is to have allowance of shipping, storing, and other factor that will decreased the capacity prior reaching the customer.

We have seen brand new battery as high as 108% when checked with coconut battery. This is the fact.

If you bought a Mac and you think the battery does not hold the charges as you think so, call AppleCare. But most likely you will have to send the Mac to service center for diagnose. The process will takes at lease a week.

So far we haven't noticed any bad report. But do pay attention if there are anything not right when using the adapter. Especially with MiniDP. You are talking about putting a 20pins connection in tiny 4x7mm ports. You don't want bad pins that short circuit.

There are no universal adapter as we notice. They all required specific adapter as that's how the port being engineered, carry one type of output per time. I believe you can use a DVI <-> HDMI converter, but DVI don't carry audio.

nope.read- 200mb/s write 200mb/s
mba is more faster than any mbp coz it doesnt have ODD.
last time i tested on mba 11 15-16 sec only.

Having ODD or not have nothing to do with speed.
The MacBook Air SSD uses Toshiba Blade X-gale: http://www.toshiba.com/taec/news/press_rel...memy_10_604.jsp

The spec says 220Mbps Read, 180Mbps write. What makes the different is the architecture that connect and use the drive. I believe Apple enhance the MacBook Air hardware to harnest the speed with the non standard SATA port.

If you put in a SATA3 (6Gbps) SSD, you can easily get 500Mbps Read/write with 2011 MBP and iMac.

You can convert MiniDP -> DVI -> HDMI, since HDMI is another form of DVI, both is digital. But for VGA, you will need the specific MiniDP adapter. Apple specifically did not include analog signal from digital adapter.

I'm surprised this has not been mentioned before, you don't need any applications to download youtube videos, you can do it for free. Here's the steps:-

1. Open the youtube video you want;
2. Go to Window-Activity;
3. Look for the video file which is loading, usually you see the size of the file loading of the total file size (ie 1.2MB of 15MB);
4. Click on it, press CMD-C (copy);
5. Go to Window-Downloads;
6. Press CMD-V (paste) and you will see your video downloading (flv).
*
Just press option and double click on the step 3-4.

The Recovery HD Utility will create a mirror of the internal Recovery HD that do not contain full 10.7 installer. You will still need to wait for the download when you want to perform a clean install from it.

The Recovery HD after created is weight <1GB. Contain a rip down OSX that will let you run few utility like Disk Utility, Safari, Terminal, Password reset utility and Lion Installation preparation.

A full 10.7 Installer should weight around 4GB.

http://www.macstories.net/news/lion-recovery-disk-assistant/

@wiraone could simply create a new admin user and delete the old one. Most of the file should be gone unless you store it at root directory of the HD or other partition. Application will stay, unless you have apparent reason to do a clean install and reinstall all the apps.
