*

sometimes, thinking of getting a 8150 instead... afraid of the GTX 460M limitation... sweat.gif

The reason we students are able to get such good laptops, is either we saved up previously or borrow from parents.

If the student is plain rich, I dun think he will even bother coming to these forums. Haha.

*
Yeah... ur probably right though...

wish i have the strength to save up my salary every month for the sake of SAGER... hahaha laugh.gif

Prince J seems trustable... especially he sells many other things...

but, when i look at the person who ordered from him on batch 1... mostly are new accounts holder... sweat.gif

I don't know but I still think the GTX 460m is a good card...many underestimate it. I've seen users run Crysis 2 900p Extreme settings with it.
*
Yes, no doubt the GTX 460M is a good card...
what i'm afraid of the 8130 is the upgrade limitation to GTX 460M only...
In the future, have to think of selling the laptop instead of upgading the GPU only... sad.gif

If the improvements over GTX 485 or 6970M from the GTX 460M is not much, then I won't be bother much... The thing is, It does makes a big different... sweat.gif

QUOTE(carbonytte @ Apr 8 2011, 06:55 AM)
agreed. I've been playing Crysis 2 at 1080p Extreme resolution, FPS is at 20-24.

Usually we're being underestimated due to having more powerful brother (485m, or even the AMD HD6970m), while people tend to forget that 460m is still a GTX class and not GT smile.gif
*
Yes bro, GTX 460M is still a very good card for today...
Like I explained just now... the GPU upgrade limitation... sad.gif

Something is wrong with Mucro pricing.

Tried customizing the NP8150 to be identical as NP8150-S1... the NP8150-S1 is still RM100(*edited) more expensive?? rclxub.gif

Tried using Xoticpc... price seems right... even can change the CPU to i7-2630QM, unlike Mucro... sweat.gif

in mucro, you open both tabs in your browser (one for np8150 and np8150-s1)

compare both side by side and you notice there's a difference on pricing for regional warranty. biggrin.gif
*
yes.. but only so little...
still, if it selected the same warranty. The S1 is still more expensive.
S1 should be cheaper than non-S1.
summore can't downgrade the S1 to i7-2630QM to reduce price. rclxub.gif

i dont think m`sia have registered sager reseller.

thats why sager is so called unknown brand here
*
but prince j stated in his thread that he is a reseller? http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1728582

"We are reseller direct from US Sager. Well, I noticed that Malaysia is lack of customized high end laptop. Even some top gaming laptop series from Dell, Asus or others offer ridiculous prices and limited customization. Therefore, I am here to spread my Sager Love to everyone in Malaysia."

If anyone had deal a laptop with him... please do share...

really interested in getting it from him... can safe alot woo... biggrin.gif

Read above post!
No need to argue lor...

If you're going to get the NP8130 then get from Singapore.

If you're getting NP8150/NP8170/etc. with the HD 6970m/485m then Malibal is a good choice, IMHO.

NP8130 already pretty much fixed for that configuration so all resellers' also has a fixed profit margin. But if you're aiming for a higher model, then USA resellers' the way to go...
*
I think, if you're interested in NP8150-S1, cubehub is better than malibal.

the exact spec as you selected there, in cubehub is USD1623(RM4917.69 vs RM5309.80 from mucro)... plus you get CubeHub 1 Year ASEAN Limited Warranty (Free Shipment back to User) US warranty covered...

From cubehub :
What kind of Sager laptop warranties your company provided?
You can either choose warranties that ship back to USA (Sager) or to Singapore (CubeHub). For shipment back to USA, you have to pay both way shipment cost. For shipment back to Singapore, we will bear one way back to you or both way shipment cost if you have chosen our warranty. This CubeHub warranty only apply to Southeast Asia customers.

Atleast cubehub has an almost identical price of malibal (except 1 year cubehub warranty), at the sametime you don't have to worry about shipping to both ways to and from Singapore.

comparing cubehub and mucro shipment(using DHL) is RM131.90(RM393.90 vs RM262) differences... while saving RM392.11(RM4917.69 vs RM5309.80 from mucro) in Laptop prices...

Actually, I would still prefer going with mucro(even total price differences is RM260.21) due to its local selected service centre here in KL...

unfortunately, mucro doesn't accept credit card in MYR, but cubehub does... so, I will have to go with cubehub... sweat.gif

For cubehub, even though I'm in Singapore, it is hard to get them because they open only from Monday to Friday and the working hours is like from 10am to 6pm, not open on Saturdays and Sundays. Unless I take half day leave to purposely go there for warranty/repair/replacement lol.

Mucro on the other hand is different, they have various service partners and their service partners are easily accessible which is always on from Monday to Sunday.
*
yup... i do prefer mucro than the rest...
almost did the payment... but got stuck on the paypal thing...

need to use credit card coz i'm abit short on cash due to I have to sell my current laptop to get enough cash, and I cannot afford to loose my laptop for 3-4 weeks before getting a new one... sad.gif

I depend heavily on my laptop for work... sweat.gif

QUOTE(jimmykvt @ Apr 15 2011, 10:05 PM)
3 and a half years ago, I bought my Dell Inspiron 1420 with nvidia geforce 8400m GS. Nowadays, I can only use low to medium graphics settings for game like Runes of Magic and Lord of the Rings Online. Games are still playable with this laptop and it has been serving me well for the past 3 and a half years. Even with my new laptop from Sager which I'm going to receive next month, I won't be expecting it can withstand all the upcoming new games with ultra high graphics settings for 3 years.

Hardware does improve and I dare to say to keep your hardware up to date is an endless mission. Today this one is new, tomorrow there will be another new one. It is just that you can be sure that the graphics card you have chosen in the top one in its series.

For example ATI Radeon HD 6970m is considered the top one in the 6 series now. Even if there is a ATI Radeon 7450 later on, it might still cannot beat the 6970 as 7450 can be considered the lower end of 7 series. So, have faith in whatever you are choosing biggrin.gif

If money is not a concern and you can change a new laptop every year, then it is not a problem lol. But if money is a concern, then believe in what you have chosen now and stay with it for 3 to 5 years which is what I'm gonna do lol
*
High end ATI 7 series mobile GPU won't be appearing very soon...

High end NVIDIA 5 series might... I dunno... sweat.gif
