Yup it was an old statement dating around 2007 I think... Yup, I've also read about photographers sending their 1Dm3 for repairs/service but when they got it back the problem still persists even when they send it in the 2nd time... I'm not sure if they ever got it fixed at all. The hardware problem is much harder to fix.... I feel sorry for those people...

For 5Dm2 there's numerous firmware updates that upgrades stuffs & fixes a lot of problems, glitches or whatever..maybe because it has video mode.

I wonder why the D700 has so few firmware updates.... rolleyes.gif

I'm not sure about the 1Dm4 af problems... guess I'm better of in the DARKside.

My goodness... shakehead.gif Three years warranty but no satisfaction in using the product... That's the cream of the crop for canon... shocking.gif

Definitely made my mind... D700 it is.. hehehehe  biggrin.gif ... Did i mention my friend got his D3 for just 6K NEW back in late 2009? Frickin unbelievable but true... He bought it and used it with an AFD 50 1.4...hehehe.. Same source as mine.. clearing stock or something...
Now I can sleep soundly & dream of wonderous stuffs... tongue.gif

Damn good price la... Now I know those shops earning so much if they ever manage to grab any of these cheap stocks!

Wonder how much is it to service your gears... 70200 VR2 is RM80 onwards. Cleaning -> RM200-RM300, quoted by both SC when I sent email to them.

Is that worth upgrade from D3000 to D90 ?
*
Of course.

QUOTE(ezrasang @ Feb 24 2011, 12:16 AM)
The reason for you to upgrade?

Somehow I prefer CCD sensor... lol, missing my D70 already  cry.gif
*
D3000's CCD -> lousy ISO performance. D90's CMOS sensor much better.

QUOTE(kakisemut @ Feb 24 2011, 02:44 AM)

sigma 70-200...
some review said it is good enough...
*
Sigma 70200 OS is pricey! RM4k+ if not mistaken.

QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ Feb 24 2011, 02:59 AM)
is there is a major difference between CCD and CMOS?

Err.. Why would an UWA lens have a big aperture like 1.something??
I don't get the purpose of it isn't that overkill.?
*
24G? It is a prime lens.

There's reason why the Nikkors cost more than the third party. The VR2 for example is sharp wide open! (Even better at f/4 tongue.gif).

Sigma -> Sigmalux right?

Only the 50mm is acceptable, mainly because Nikkor's 50mm is just sub par lol~ Once Nikkor comes with the updated 50mm f/1.2, kiss the Sigma good bye~ tongue.gif.

This maybe? The 14mm f/2.8 prime LOL. Not exactly big aperture anyways since there's 1424 f/2.8.

Any reason why? 24mm f/1.4 better than 35mm f/1.4?
Yup, for most people, it's overkill since landscapes are always shot stopped down.

Big apertures on wide angles benefit people shooting in low light like photojournalist.
The pic posted is the old Nikkor Manual Focus lens. So it is possible that Nikon would come out with an AF-S version.

Heck, one of the most coveted lenses i.e. Noct is a 58mm f/1.2.

QUOTE(KTCY @ Feb 24 2011, 11:19 AM)
24mm comes with ED glass while 35mm and 85mm dont have that.
*
The reason KTCY mentioned and also 24mm is 77mm. I can use my CPL with it.

67mm can put step up to 77mm tongue.gif

Maybe, but you might get vignetting due to the step up ring.

The 35mm and the 85mm without ED element also takes great pics, no?

I would think selection between 24 or 35mm f/1.4 would have to do more with shooting style than anything else. Not because of CPL or because it has an ED lens element.

My personal opinion is 24mm is a little wide while 35mm is just nice and neutral point of view. But having said that, I've seen great pics from both the 24mm and the 35mm.
Good point. But I don't think I would put on a CPL to use it as a landscape lens when using the 24mm f/1.4.
*
Well this is my point of view, cause I already have a 77mm CPL, so if I were to buy the 24mm instead of 35mm I have the option to use CPL if I want to.
