Yup it was an old statement dating around 2007 I think... Yup, I've also read about photographers sending their 1Dm3 for repairs/service but when they got it back the problem still persists even when they send it in the 2nd time... I'm not sure if they ever got it fixed at all. The hardware problem is much harder to fix.... I feel sorry for those people...

For 5Dm2 there's numerous firmware updates that upgrades stuffs & fixes a lot of problems, glitches or whatever..maybe because it has video mode.

I wonder why the D700 has so few firmware updates....

I'm not sure about the 1Dm4 af problems... guess I'm better of in the DARKside.

My goodness... Three years warranty but no satisfaction in using the product... That's the cream of the crop for canon...

Definitely made my mind... D700 it is.. hehehehe  ... Did i mention my friend got his D3 for just 6K NEW back in late 2009? Frickin unbelievable but true... He bought it and used it with an AFD 50 1.4...hehehe.. Same source as mine.. clearing stock or something...
Now I can sleep soundly & dream of wonderous stuffs...

Yup, for most people, it's overkill since landscapes are always shot stopped down.

Big apertures on wide angles benefit people shooting in low light like photojournalist.
The pic posted is the old Nikkor Manual Focus lens. So it is possible that Nikon would come out with an AF-S version.

Heck, one of the most coveted lenses i.e. Noct is a 58mm f/1.2.

24mm comes with ED glass while 35mm and 85mm dont have that.

67mm can put step up to 77mm

The 35mm and the 85mm without ED element also takes great pics, no?

I would think selection between 24 or 35mm f/1.4 would have to do more with shooting style than anything else. Not because of CPL or because it has an ED lens element.

My personal opinion is 24mm is a little wide while 35mm is just nice and neutral point of view. But having said that, I've seen great pics from both the 24mm and the 35mm.
Good point. But I don't think I would put on a CPL to use it as a landscape lens when using the 24mm f/1.4.

I only left with cokins output quality because from Tian Ya, not worth keeping
