QUOTE(n00b123 @ Mar 1 2011, 11:34 AM) There are high possibilities that the tax exemption for hybrid cars will be abolished next year.. this is to make way for Proton to introduce their new hybrid models in malaysia Hence, if your queue is greater than 4250 th unit, then the earliest possible allocation to you will be on Jan 2012 by then, once the tax exemption is abolished, you won't be able to purchase it at 98k anymore Sounds like a speculation and to potrait the RM98K version of Insight will become a legendary 2011 limited edition. For those potential owners out there, please call Honda Malaysia to find out instead of guessing here and there. Fair enough to our fella Insight owners here in this thread ? QUOTE(psyeo @ Mar 1 2011, 10:18 AM) Why RM124K? I thought without AP you can't bring in the car at all? According to SA, the 2011 budget only allow 5K units or 1yr (2011) to be duty free. If exceed the 5K units, duty is applicable on subsequent imported Insight. He didn't mention about AP, so can still get Insight but at RM124K.

For 20yrs they couldn't even get the power window right. I own the new Saga, the window switch kaput after 2yrs and the mechanic says even if he changed it, it will happen again It is common problem for all proton cars.

I found this in the US/Canada Owners manual:
'Your authorized Honda dealer knows your vehicle best and can provide competent, efficient service.
However, service at a dealer is not mandatory to keep your warranties in effect. Maintenance may be done by any qualified service facility or person who is skilled in this type of automotive service. Make sure to have the service facility or person reset the display as previously described. Keep all receipts as proof of completion, and have the person who does the work fill out your Honda Service History or Canadian Maintenance Log. Check your warranty booklet for more information.'
Does that applies in Malaysia? Just in case HM sucks us dry through maintenance department.

Then I will just buy a petrol car, Ford Fiesta 17KM/L @ RM78K. There will be more efficient car coming out next year. Right now my Saga, sapping at 10KM/L worse than a Camry. Another, if a battery failed it will cost a lot $$$, so I wouldn't put my bet on Proton reliability. Right now they have zero records on hybrid production.

(like Japan) Which is highly unlikely... If Honda or Toyota couldn't get more APs for Hybrid, I think consumer will begin to complaint the gov...

My calculation based on the current selling price, please take note that I have not deduct the profit made by Honda Malaysia from the selling price before calculating tax, thus the selling price after tax might be Rm10k to 30k lesser. Please correct me if my calculation is wrong Added on March 1, 2011, 3:09 pmMy SA just called saying that this Friday or saturday can collect car...but loan not yet approve and dont have the number plate i want yet This post has been edited by psyeo: Mar 1 2011, 03:09 PM
