As previously mentioned, I am helping out my friend that is conducting a research on 'Factors influencing the purchase of hybrid vehicles in Malaysia' - or basically on why people purchase hybrid cars. @ SteadyPana & other forumers up there - Sorry I don't really know how to do the quote - But the results that can be gathered from you guys (i.e. owners / potential owners) will be significant. today i noticed in TheStar got prius ad saying it can do 38km/l, whats the advertised fc for Insight?

bro, the site loading is tremendously slow man...anybody facing this loading issue as well?

hmm, Prius owner will be very happy if they can achieve that....

EPA (US) rated 3rd gen Prius as 51mpg ~ 21.26km/l (City) & 48mpg ~ 20.41km/l (Highway)..Real life driving may be able to beat that.

38km/l (89.38mpg) is even better than EPA rated 58mpg~25.93km/l (Highway) first generation Insight which is known as the hybrid that are able to achieve best FC to date



EPA (US) rate 2011 Insight at

40mpg~17.01km/l (City) and 43mpg~18.28km/l (Highway) - Which we can beat it as well (However my short drive to work (less than 5min) are getting less than that) Longer distance drive thou, I can beat that easily)


The marketing ppl in Malaysia really likes to pluck figures from the sky

so normally insight get 17-18 km/l only? that sucks (for a hybrid)

if u can get 17km/l on a Honda City or other cars. I'm pretty sure you will get at least 25km/l on the Insight.

Coz you can be categorized as Hypermiler
