QUOTE(mrl @ Mar 6 2011, 08:54 PM) for me, it's going like this... Wah you brake hard quite a lot eh hehehe. Having ABS can still lock wheels when braking? If you drive fast a lot it's time to try PS3 do I really need the expensive good tires while my brakes can't even lock the wheels with current cheap tires??? I'd say no... it's not like I'm saying it's not good to have those expensive UHP tires... heck, if I have extra money, I'd go for those too... most of the time, I'd drive in city condition where I seldom exceed 80km/h... for emergency maneuvers under 80km/h on dry asphalt, those Silverstone NS500/NS700 is good enough already for that purpose.... heck, my brakes can't even lock them when they're new (of course after running in) proving they don't lose grip that easily... so, by judging cost over performance for people who dont drive crazily, dont do crazy maneuver, the tires is good... I'd recommend this over GoodYears and Sime but of course I won't recommend this over UHP tires... For its class, it's the best... I did plenty of emergency brakes for near miss already, and few emergency maneuvers @ 160km/h with the NS500... even my friend's riding with me was impressed at the time... maybe the wet performance is questionable though... but as long as we dont drive stupidly (follow people closely, cilok here and there, not aware of surroundings, not expecting the unexpected; but yeah, sometimes shit happens) the possibilities to get involve in something unwanted is pretty slim... of course those Silverstone Kruizers isn't any better compare to those Michelins, Falkens... but know your limits, you should be fine... always leave a margin of error, that's my tip... driving on street without leaving margin of error for yourself to correct things, that's a recipe for disaster... though I'm pretty sure now, Conti tires do have problem... I might change my rear for another pair but i'm not going for Conti... maybe Falken or Hankook... and for the price of almost similar to Hankook V8, I am pretty dissappointed... I think conti tyres should be avoided since for its price it isn't any better than local tyres. Once you go UHP it's hard to look at silverstone/sime. Go for falken or hankook. The price isn't that far off silverstone ns700. I've tried both 912 and v12. Both below Rm200 for 15 inch. Last year was quoted 170 for silverstone ns700 195/55/15. I just topup rm15 to get the hankook v12. Falken 912 was rm10 cheaper. Hankook and falken Pretty much the same for me. And both better than standard silverstone ns500. Now is using PS3. For my experience the best budget tyre for me is Simex. |

QUOTE(fazron80 @ Mar 7 2011, 11:53 AM) Wah you brake hard quite a lot eh hehehe. Having ABS can still lock wheels when braking? If you drive fast a lot it's time to try PS3 haha... what I meant with brake till lock the wheels is letting the ABS do its job la... ABS only triggered if the wheel is locked right... I think conti tyres should be avoided since for its price it isn't any better than local tyres. Once you go UHP it's hard to look at silverstone/sime. Go for falken or hankook. For my experience the best budget tyre for me is Simex. I had few incidents where I brake hard but the rubber still gripping the road pretty hard... I had tried CSC-1 on my bro's Neo CPS before, I braked till my dad beside me is thrown forward but the ABS is not triggered yet... that's why I'm pretty confident to fit it to my ride once I'm changing to 16" wheels... but it looks like Conti is pretty bad on wet I guess... i agree, once on UHP it's hard to look for those lower tires... that's why I stay away at first since my economy is not that stable at the moment... right now it's a little bit more stable and I'm looking forward to those rubbers too... what's in my head right now is Hankook, Maxxis and Falken to replace my rear rubber (Silverstone Synergy M5; bad rubber... lucky got it for free)... Michelin might be out of reach at the moment... QUOTE(Azuma-kun @ Mar 7 2011, 12:43 PM) What do you add this time??? haiihhhh... last time said dont want to mod anymore~~~ |
