Maybe SAF will play Rooney/Hernandez wide and Berbatov as a lone striker. the Rooney will surely drift in from the wide position to support Berbatov. SAF used this tactics in previous matches ago. Surely Giggs will be rested for the MArseille and Wigan game. Probably Obertan will play. Just my 2 cents.
*
Actually SAF use this alot when Ronaldo was here.. When we play in Europe it was always Ronaldo lone striker with Rooney left and Park right.

It's time for Obertan to step up, really hope that he'll be given a chance to start in any upcoming matches. Seems like a crafty winger to me, but still "raw" and "unpolished". Definitely a good candidate as Giggsy's replacement soon. And I BELIEVE in French wingers biggrin.gif

Else, at least there's Valencia to look forward to...

Well, I think both King and Bebe scored last night/yesterday in a reserves match. Obertan might just be like Nani. Late bloomer. We just have to be patient with kids. Not all of them are like those 2 freaks in Spain.

We can play Fletcher/Gibson at right wing and Ando on the left but they're not that effective. Obertan is in a good form for the reserves. Bebe is not yet ready. Valencia is coming back mid/end of March(hopefully we don't rush him). The only thing we don't want now is Nani getting injured. That would be a nightmare doh.gif

I was reading THIS article and my mind starts thinking...

Our away form: 3W, 8D, 1L

More stats:
-We scored at away less than half of what we scored at OT, while conceding nearly double. point wise, Home = 40 while Away=17 sweat.gif
-Newcastle and Blackpool won more away games than us at the moment tongue.gif (but Blackpool weird la, they have more away points than home points).
-the 3 wins we have are only won with a 1 goal margin each.

i was thinking...if our away form isnt that bad, say...3 of those 8 draws can be a win. only 5 draws...that will give us extra 6 points, meaning now we would have a 10 point lead! shocking.gif

we still have 7 away games to go, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal among the 7 teams left. As opposed to the 5 home games left, it is evident that if anything were to decide our title's fate, it would be the away games. I think no team feared us anymore if playing at their turf, and this "away jinx" has become a norm, ie. when it happens, we only said "oh, it happens" instead of "why is it happening and how to stop it?".

PS: last season we only drew 3 times sweat.gif but lost 5 on the road. I would only say this season is an improvement if we win all the remaining aways laugh.gif (stat wise i mean. overall, i think theres more to cheer this season than last season that is just average....never really hit top form last season.)

Pardon me, i just love looking at stats tongue.gif

Many more tough away games to go and the title sure as hell ain't in the bag yet, especially since we've been poor away. These away games will be our title decider.

yeah. i think it is time too. Valencie will not be back until MArch i think. so if Obertan were to step up then now is the time. especially against Crawley. Obertan definitely will play so i hope he can deliver. It is a best match for our back up players to shine. i hope to see Wes Brown in the line up. if he can return sharpness in his game back, he would be vital especially with Rio getting injury prone. Although smalling and Evans are promising, Brown's experience would prove vital towards end of the season.

No way gibson is going anywhere near the wings. shakehead.gif shakehead.gif shakehead.gif shakehead.gif

After blackpool n southampton, aren't we all convinced that he is s.h.i.t on the wings?? If we have no choice but to play gibs, damage-control wise, he should only be put in the middle of the park. That way, at least less of a liability to the team.

Just following Fulham-Chelsea. When looking at the league table, just wow. Spurs could be in 3rd place after all.

edit: Fulham's 90 min penalty saved! What a miss.
