For ATM, there's a limited time for u to take out the money before its auto suck back in again. (Security Approach)...

Few years back while I was a student, experience this before ... using MBB and withdraw from RHB. Guess what, only resit printed that I withdraw that RM50, no bank notes was out. I was frustrate, kick that ATM machine and the guard keep stopping me d...

The next day, that bank simply ask me fill in a form... After 1 week, no news, go back to the bank, they couldnt find the record, ask me go MBB, reach MBB they ask me to pay RM10 for bank statement to trace the records. Travel up and down finally give up coz of petrol etc, thx God just RM50.

Got another event happen to my dad, taking RM1000 from RHB ATM Machine, bank note stuck near the mouth, hav to use some clip to take it out while the door is closing down...

After that, comes to frustration, cancel all RHB cards and move to some other banks... lolz!

it just happened to me today. I withdrew money from CIMB ATM machine using maybank atm card (MEPS transaction), then it says something about switch unavailable or.. can't remember the exact error message.. no money comes out, but my account has been deducted..

I was a bit panicked.. but I've filed the complain already..

i also have ask the CS, they said if in that condition. They have to check with tech team that will check wit ATM records. So take 1 month.

If like myself, they said MEPS system down, so any "interbank" withdrawal will have problem (hanging, cancel suddenly with receipt fail etc)

I had similar experience, i bank-in $$ at ATM machine. the transaction failed after i place in my $$, 3k i think. then i immediately call CS in front of the machine. the CS team ask me the machine number (a very small series number at the machine which we dun really care usually), and some bla bla. the $$ transfered into my account after 2 working days.

i think it is important to know who you talking to, and tell the his/her that you will refer to his/her name if the matter not settle within a week. the bank might have proper SOP, but not all will follow exactly.

Yesterday I log a report at the CIMB branch. Because near CNY, too many people go bank. I go counter ask, they ask me to grab a form. Fill in the take number and wait. Wait for 2 hours plus, then reach me. Submit the form, take my card and photocopy then ask me go back. Then he say wait for 3-5 working days and they will check. WTF, 2-5 working days to check, then when will refund? They answer will bank in back after checking.

I think 3-5 working days is because CNY holiday. No people working. I understand that but so sad for me. No money to pass CNY. Luckily got FD. Some friend offer to lend me money. I withdraw all my salary to pay card, loan, bills, that RM1500 is extra I left for eat and pass CNY...

I got money on the same day.. maybe it's because the atm is already right inside the bank and they have access to open the atm. Thank god!

For my case, I don't need to take a number. There's a cimb officer always stand at the numbering ticket counter. Get the form from him and submit back to him. He stamped the report and gave me a photostate copy of the stamped report.

I also have similar experience with CIMB atm machine. Try to withdraw RM100 from affin bank account using MEPS but the machine state got transaction error and only give me the recipt.

The next day I check the RM100 was gone from the account. I go to affin bank and ask me the transaction recipt from the atm, luckily I keep the recipt.

and it takes 2 weeks to bank in back the RM100 >.<

dont worry la bro. they will definitely return. i kena twice already. summore i bank into other ppl account. lagi teruk kena screw for no reason.
Now i know how already. Take the receipt from the atm. Call the CS. let them know the Machine Id. ask them to trace this atm machine belongs to who. after knowing, go straight to the branch that own the machine. Fill in a form and ask them to photocopy your atm slip. They will return back within 3 working days.

Happy CNY bro! Jimat sikit lor... smile.gif

I also faced similar problem. I withdraw money from local bank's ATM few days ago. The first time i use it, the ATM indicates all transaction was completed but no money or receipt was given. I was frustrated and tried the second time, still the same situation. On the third time i tried, the money and receipt finally came out. The amount printed on the receipt was correct so i just forget about the two previous 'weird' transactions. But when i checked my balance yesterday, i was shocked that my account was A LOT less, further investigation shows that i have successfully withdrawn 3 times on that eventful day although i just manage to get the cash on the 3rd attempt. I reported it to the bank's branch where the ATM is located and they advise me to make a police report before they can consider investigating. Really unHelpful and frustrating.>< vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

I got this issue on 29 January. Today is 17 February. Finally I got my money back. It tooks 20days to get my money back.

I call to the bank few times, useless. Call branch also useless. Then last week I file an email report to CIMB customer complain center, include bank negara, include FMB. Then they call me on the next working day. Say will get in 2 days. Didn't get back yet. Email again. They call me again. Finally!! I get it back after 20 days. CNY also pass d.

actually for ATM it depends on which bank card u using and at which atm u w/draw.

Eg. If u're MBB customer then u go w/draw at ambank atm then face this prob, then first thing u have to report to your OWN bank as your a/c is with them so they can check ur a/c is debited and after that they will lodge a report to AMBANK and ask them to refund to your a/c. Which usually takes 14 working days or 1 month. It differ from bank to bank.

2nd example is if you w/draw at your own bank if it's a branch ATM then u can just refer to the same branch tomorrow to request for the refund as they will check the excess money in the ATM machine and sequence number before they refund it to you.

3rdly is the part whereby you w/draw at NO Branch ATM at all meaning some ATM at shopping complex. That one also will take longer time as they need to report to HQ on this and only then they will refund accordingly.

So it's safer to w/draw at your own bank and if possible nearest BRANCH ATM also to avoid late dispute.

Hope that clarifies but nevertheless never have prob with CIMB machine yet. But atm machine do have time frame for u to take out the card and money so just make sure once the machine is counting the money just get ready to grab ur ATM card hahahaa then follow by cash . Slip leave it there til u done then grab it =D
