Physical warfare is only for losers..u know why? coz no one wins in an outright war... This is the 21 century. Countries kill other countries with economic power and money.... Bloodshed without bloodshed.. that's the ultimate kejamness...not with all these high tech gizmos...
*
the yanks alone spends trillions of dolar for these "high tech gizmos",not to mention other nations.you call them losers?

if you want to sound smart i suggest you to go to the library and read some writings about Von Clausewitz or Jomini's work.then we tok tok

QUOTE(Irzani @ Jul 22 2011, 02:07 AM)

Weaknesses

- Two separate land areas diminish speed and efficiency of deployment.

Thus the creation of military bases in many strategic areas.these will move along the threatened area

- Increase in insurgency attacks in Thailand creates instability along borders.

we have very good relation with Thais.and as far as i know the separatist there are very reluctant to target any malaysian citizens/properties/interests

- Thai intelligence suggests that there are spill-over effects from Thai Muslim insurgencies and that Malaysia-based terrorists may be collaborating with insurgents.

same answer as above

- Malaysia’s archipelagos have become hubs for Islamic militant activity, especially the Malaysian state of Sabah near Borneo Island. Sabah is a particularly attractive area for Islamic militant activity due to its porous borders with neighbouring states the Philippines and Indonesia.

Sabah has become a transit area for these radicals to move to and from indon and philippines.other than than i can say no more

that shows a lot,the Chinook is a slow, lumbering target....probably an easy target even for an RPG grenade.

*
Chinook is one of the faster helos in aviation world.it can easily outpaced the likes of Mi-17 or Frelon or CH-53(due to two massive rotor)

it's all a combination of tough luck, the altitude of flight, etc.on a bad day even an AK-47 can down AH-64

you google electra L-88.P-3 shares the same airframe design but one difference.electra fell out of the sky often but not P-3

last time P-3 langgar pesawat pejuang china the P-3 manage to land.

Indon going to buy U-boats

Friday, August 26, 2011
ÜMİT ENGİNSOY
ANKARA – Hürriyet Daily News

A team of Turkish and German companies, as well as Turkey’s procurement office, are jointly looking to sell two HDW-class 209-type diesel submarines to Indonesia in a $1 billion deal, a senior Turkish procurement official said Friday.

“Our package is excellent. We are hopeful and waiting for Indonesia’s decision,” said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The only competitor for the German-Turkish partnership is South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine, which emerged as the favorite after French and Russian bidders for the Indonesian Navy’s tender fell off.

Daewoo was expected to bid together with Germany’s Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft, or HDW, but later decided to join the competition on its own.

Sweetening the deal

In an effort to win the bid over their Korean rivals, SSM is reported to be offering sweeteners. In a letter sent to Indonesian Adm. Soeparno, who uses one name like many Indonesians, SSM chief Murad Bayar said, “Our offer includes one or two 209-class submarine leases to the Indonesian Navy as a ‘gap-filler’ solution until your submarines have been built.”

Bayar also pledged a maximum work share for Indonesian defense companies, including the Indonesian national shipyard PT-PAL, in emphasizing HDW’s full support for the Turkish bid.

“A very attractive and advantageous financial package will be included as well,” Bayar said.

Type 26 frigate is probably naval equivalent of the F35 project. where if got many partners, then cost will go down. But UK defence contractors has the habit of production delays..
*
because building a ship took years (from laying the first keel to testing and breaking the campagne,or labu sayung)

during that time there might be change in term of doctrine or requirement of the vessel, and new equipment need to be retrofitted and cause delay

not to mention during this time and age, electronic product become obsolete at faster rate than before.

Navigation/automated firing mechanism. Includes direct fire capability. Able to commence firing within 1 minute of stopping and scoot 30 seconds after firing. Range is 11m. 5 crew members.
