why do KAD remove the front ERA tiles?only the turret and sides seem to be covered?i thought T72s had front ERA
*
frontal area is already thick to begin with

besides it can be installed should the need arises(and no they don't need much era protection in parade)

just remember... since when ATM got humvee into their inventory... i thought they use land rover like british...

but they said if in US they called that humvee but yesterday they mention something else forgot what they call that thing...
*
those are not humvees

and we only buy a handful of those(as opposed to tens of thousand of Defender in ATM service.and thousand more annuallyTDi usually)

Land Rover Defender is <3

looks rather basic,yet practical

i think think we can do this too.doesn't look hard(PSC ND can build howitzer, and deftech can build the truck.the FCS is well....manual)

it would be nice if we join the japs program.. but iiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnbbbbbbb4 tony pua said it would be 9000% expensive..

i wonder will the MOD ATM sue him?
*
the Japs are more than capable to produce their own fighter without other assistance

and knowing their armament,it's going to be expensive as hell.

remember F-2? it's essentially a F-16 with the pricetag of F-15

what about them f-2 ?dont know much about japan's military here.  icon_question.gif
*
actually everything made in japan is bloody expensive, due to labor wage, the amount of sophistication in it,and the fact that unlike F-16(which Lockheed Martin outsource from everywhere all over the States),most of F-2 is made under one roof, and there's is only a handful of them to begin with.i don't buy the 'duit masuk kroni' reason because it's a real shame (to you, your family sampai la 7 keturunan) if a jap is caught songlap money.a large portion of politician/businessman/CEO who was caught end up comitting suicide

my problem with F-2 is that it is a wrong platform to begin with.F-16 was never developed as a maritime strike aircraft.if one did some study on F/A-18,the USN actually reject F-16 because they cannot withstand the stress in the sea, thus the reason F/A-18,then YF-17 being brought back from dead and being develop further to become what we know as the best multirole, maritime strike,day/night aircraft ever invented.

other single engine aircraft like A-4 and A-7 only existed because at that time, the software sophistication is not advance enough to develop a true multirole aircraft.thus the's the F-designation,the A-designation and the E-designation

IED was a threat even for heavy armoured vehicle, simply because they attacked the most vulnerable part of the vehicle:lantai

comparing a defender with HMMWV isn't that much correct btw. they are being develop to meet different aspects(Defender is more of an all round utility vehicle while humvee is designed so it cannot be toppled over due to it's sheer width)

we used Defender as multi purpose utility 4x4 vehicle, not as Recon vehicle(we got g wagon for that),apatah lagi as a front line vehicle.besides MRAP isn't that much of a great IED-proof APC themselves

these acquisition would severely affect the (already stricken) RTN's aircraft carrier

I was wondering, what kind of Soldier Modernization Program (SMP) do ATM have currently?
I know other countries like S'pore and Aussie had implemented the program.
IMHO, we should progress in it to improve our soldiers capabilty.

Just finished reading the Dasar Pertahanan Negara over a bowl of shisha. I must say, I found it very agreeable, and politically neutral (lol neutrailty is a rare commodity in Malaysian politics), which is good. Among others, one thing stood out though- despite the recognition of the asymmetrical threats, I find it perplexing that not much is mentioned with regards to inter-agency cooperation ie. Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, Special Branch, etc.

An interesting read, after my project on Canadian defence policy.

Any thoughts on the DPN?
*
about the inter agency coorporation, you got to dig deeper well into insurgency period

inter branch coorporation within MAF is always good(which is a must in today's conventional-oriented,limited warfare)
