nikkor AF-s 105 VR macro len cost more than rm2500++

or

tamron af 90 mm macro only rm1100++

review give tamron 90mm more star compare to the N series of nikkor in macro competition

hope this helps
*
So that means the tamron sp90 is better than the 105 micro since it got more stars sweat.gif

Mind telling me whether yours is with batt grip or not? if shooting vertically seems like the protruding holder will make the hand not so comfortable

aye. that's the reason get sb-900 or get nothing  flex.gif
*
SB600 is perfectly fine for normal usage, just not as powerful as sb900+it's lighter as well.. For those who only take family snapshots and not shooting for weddings/events, the sb600 is more than enough smile.gif

I could get it around 3.3k(much cheaper than in M'sia I'm supposed? flex.gif ). And I want it just to do portrait. rclxm9.gif
Really have to try it myself then.
*
Malaysia can get around RM3500 for 1.4D, somehow i like the built quality of the D more than G. The D is lighter as well but not all people like the washed out colour of it compared to the G brows.gif

If I have battery grip, should I get it off or have it on always ?
If the event 30 minutes, so what ? It's good for vertical grip. Show off ? Yesh to those idiots not to those who always shoot portrait.

Add on : it helps to balance up my camera too whenever my 70-200 is there. And those who think no need, probably, the lens is not heavy.
*
For those who do a lot of portraits, the BG is a must, mine never leaves the camera... If u think dun need BG with lens, then your lens is not heavy nor big enough laugh.gif The lenses below that I have tried definitely benefits from BG

1. 70-200vr2/80-200 f.28
2. 24-70 F/2.8 nikkor
3. 14-24 f/2.8 nikkor

Prime lens still ok but except those super telephoto prime lens notworthy.gif

I played with G ! Color really awesome just that nowadays, I don't really depends on camera color. So, no point and I don't do portrait always tongue.gif
*
Really like the colour of 85 1.4g, just compare 70-200vr2 with 80-200 then can know what kind of colour the D has brows.gif

can always PP the color and the D color is okay to me.
your poison didn't work!!!!!!!! HAHAHA
*
PP as u wish, it will never have the colour signature of the G lens. That's why i resist to buy 85 1.4D and I sold off my 80-200 right after I have tested the 70-200vr2.... Actually not only the colour is better, everything else i just a little bit or way better compared to the old lens and buying a good lens will last you for a long long time.. Pain once only buy the best whistling.gif

Thanks!

Am just a hobbyist and want a 85 that can be use wide open without problem. I won't consider the G at all as it is too expensive.
I just want a lens that I know is money well spent and will have me to blame for the bad photos instead of the gear was not up to par and regret later on.

But will try it out at BTS myself to see the difference.  thumbup.gif
*
Lol u go try 85 1.4D and 85 1.4G wide open i am sure u will buy the G lens right away, the D lens is quite soft at 1.4 compared to the G lens laugh.gif

Don't bother those who don't understand why newer technology is better tongue.gif

Wait till they have friends with another lens then they compare and regret laugh.gif

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Feb 15 2011, 04:33 PM)
70-200mm VR has much noticeable difference from the 80-200mm, the first is thing is weight, then the focusing speed, and with VR.... handheld on close subject with slow shutter speed is possible, and the quality is simply amazing. Continuous focus speed is blazing fast... overall,... really  rclxm9.gif
But the price  sweat.gif
*
Actually the 80-200 is heavier from what i feel but the specification sheet says otherwise, 70-200vr2 is very well balanced while the 80-200 is very front heavy doh.gif

As if I'm not hobbyist !
And 1k different expensive meh ? sleep.gif
Can spend 3k for a lens can't spend extra for better ? LMAO.
Anyway, as you like tongue.gif
*
Let him regret his purchase later, 1k to me is very little for a lens laugh.gif ... i think u might as well get 1.8D if u fail to see the difference between 1.4D and 1.4G whistling.gif
