IINM, the warranty is only 1 year. You can extend the warranty by purchasing the warranty from Asus. Try to ask the reseller whose you're planning to get from. icon_rolleyes.gif

just got back my asus yesterday...

im very disappointed with Asus service centre...

None of my problems were fixed, the subwoofer is still not working, touchpad is still not working..

and worse still they have reformatted my laptop which wasnt necessary..

they didnt slot my ram in properply, had to do it myself..

i've waited 2 weeks for that..

this is very frustrating...

which service centre u use? the kl one? I also had bad experience with the service centre

hello Jeffrey and all,

i'm new to forum and just purchased a G73SW-A1 from fellow forumer Lumin.

hope to share and get tips on the Asus ROG from rest of members here.

went to PC fair yesterday looking for a slip case and screen protector for the G73 but no luck...
*
lol congrats, and imo no need to spend on screen protector, CD cleaning fluid more important...

G73sw-a1 don't have turbo mode because they are using sandy bridge processors.. the top left button(middle) becomes the changes for power mode settings..etc: high performance/entertainment bla bla bla

G74 is the latest and un-release model yet.

Advantage over G73SW:
Maybe Better Graphic Card - GTX 560M ( Raw performance over GTX 460m still not sure)
Change of Vent Design, probably cooler than G73.
One lock to access the back panel.

Disadvantages(Personal Opinion) :
Back vent looks like lambo car vent instead of stealth fighter.
Still the same additional ram slots beneath keyboard.

Added on April 27, 2011, 2:41 pmG74 up for pre-order(only slovak though)

Pre-order for other region may begin in May 5[Unconfirm/Rumored].

I've got a G60j that I sent in for a problem last month. The keyboard backlight wasn't working properly, if I typed typed on certain keys (i.e K, J) the backlight would flicker and die. So I took it to Asus for repair and after 3 days I got it back. When I turn it on, the fans went haywire, the graphic card and CPU were reporting temperatures up to 120°, and that's on idle! So I sent it back in a week before PC Fair, and the technician said it would take a week to repair. I joked with the technician by asking if it would be possible to finish it earlier, as I'm looking to upgrade certain aspects of the notebook, and he made a non committal comment of doing his best.

Now, not only has PC Fair come and gone, the notebook is still at the service centre for the past 2 weeks. I've been calling them regularly every couple of days and everytime they say the notebook is under repair, twice they said they will call me back with regards to why it's taking so long but so far it has been quiet. Frankly speaking, I disappointed that no one has kept me in the loop with regards to the repair status and I'm already behind in my work. Not to mention the amount of games I haven't played sad.gif .

Anyone got any ideas on what I should do icon_question.gif ?

Also, I wanted to ask, would it be possible to upgrade the screen of the G60 to a much higher resolution? Currently it has a HD Ready (1366 x 768) screen and I would like a Full HD (1920 x 1080) screen. I've asked at the service centre and they say it can't be done, the screen is not compatible and so on but I have seen on eBay of screens being sold that are compatible with the Asus G60j?

Any idea if it is possible? I would like to hear your opinions on this.

Thanks in advance.

the one lock access itself is a massive improvement. Also i'm pretty sure that the keyboard is better...

btw, is the G54 gonna be the G44 instead? AW already jumped to 14"
dun really like it much, would rather have a bigger laptop for the price...
