I've got a G60j that I sent in for a problem last month. The keyboard backlight wasn't working properly, if I typed typed on certain keys (i.e K, J) the backlight would flicker and die. So I took it to Asus for repair and after 3 days I got it back. When I turn it on, the fans went haywire, the graphic card and CPU were reporting temperatures up to 120°, and that's on idle! So I sent it back in a week before PC Fair, and the technician said it would take a week to repair. I joked with the technician by asking if it would be possible to finish it earlier, as I'm looking to upgrade certain aspects of the notebook, and he made a non committal comment of doing his best.

Now, not only has PC Fair come and gone, the notebook is still at the service centre for the past 2 weeks. I've been calling them regularly every couple of days and everytime they say the notebook is under repair, twice they said they will call me back with regards to why it's taking so long but so far it has been quiet. Frankly speaking, I disappointed that no one has kept me in the loop with regards to the repair status and I'm already behind in my work. Not to mention the amount of games I haven't played sad.gif .

Anyone got any ideas on what I should do icon_question.gif ?

Also, I wanted to ask, would it be possible to upgrade the screen of the G60 to a much higher resolution? Currently it has a HD Ready (1366 x 768) screen and I would like a Full HD (1920 x 1080) screen. I've asked at the service centre and they say it can't be done, the screen is not compatible and so on but I have seen on eBay of screens being sold that are compatible with the Asus G60j?

Any idea if it is possible? I would like to hear your opinions on this.

Thanks in advance.
