I suggest you ask for an exchange. I ordered mine through man utd direct as well and it turned out fine.

Here is how mine turned out.

That is the problem with kitbag's employees (united direct are under kitbag)... You feel like they simply employ untrained staffs to do the massive printing jobs and the QA is so poor.

You can contact united direct to ask for a refund or resend of the item. You can complain using email or even post the photo of that shirt to kitbag's facebook page.

looks like the starball has been printed wrongly, what i meant is the angle of the star, not the patch position, the correct angle is like the Scholes 18 shirt above if you comparing with the picture in united direct smile.gif

just echoing now reasons DIY NN can be the way to go really...because if you try and complain to kitbag or whomever can just get the run-around and wastes time. it may not be like what it looks like what players wear but how can you prove is really 100% wrong?..its nice to get official stuff from official store, but it's a big letdown when quality is below average...my 2008 Bayern CL Lahm the nameset is a good one inch or so off-center...not very noticeable unless looking with sharp vision/eyesight keen on knowing how to look for such things..and was ordered from FC Bayern online shop.

maybe worth a try but you could have hard time convincing printings placement are not "correct"(which is very likely the situation), just because it doesn't look like what you see what the players wear..therefore I wouldn't bother with it if it were me, but would avoid dealing with them in that dept. for awhile...that's just my opinion.

You can just do a comparison between what is shown on the product's image on the website and how yours actually looks. Should be worth a try if the discrepancy is very obvious.

if i buy from UD with UCL nameset + patches, can i tell them not to printed on the jersey.. just plain jersey and loose nameset + patches.. because i want to print it by myself and to avoid any wrong position..

it's frustrating don't get me wrong, that it doesn't look like the ad pics or what the players wear. some places even show these ad pics of name for nn jersey, where pic shows accent, umlaut, etc on name. but what you receive in hand might not have these details on the nameset on your shirt...and you would be told that you cannot refund since it is customised item, all sales final(fine print/small print type details in customer policy loophole ...)

that would be nice and if can execute DIY NN successfully. but what might not make it worthwhile for UD for example or anyone else, would be customer that complain because something went wrong/unsatisfactory in the DIY process...or customer complaining that loose nameset or patches were missing from the parcel, etc for example...then at that point probably not worth the headache for these retailers.

Agreed.. like last time i order the england home.. the front number wrongly printed on the left, they refunded..

But for the france home.. my NN is slim version one.. not as the kitbag nor actual player picture show, but they refuse to refund as they claim that was official item even not as what player picture shown..

chances is 50-50.. another funny things from kitbag... lolz..

that narrow/slim nn adidas scares me. it is ok for name like mertesacker, but for messi name for example, not so much...

The patch actually was used in the 2000-2001 season where only in one season, man united signed a 1 year contract with metro sports. Normally the teams in the EPL will use EPL namesets and patches made by Chris Kay (now known as SportingID) and the material is lextra (now known as senscilia)... but for only one season, Metro Sports provided the namesets/patches and they were all PU (polyurethane or plastic material).

Not just the patches but the namesets were all PU for man united jerseys for that season. And also the patches were only written with "CHAMPIONS" unlike the normal epl champions with it's season year (like CHAMPIONS 1993-1994, CHAMPIONS 2002-2003 etc etc)

Here's some photos of the man united home jersey with PU sponsors as worn in the 2000-2001 season:

Unfortunately the PU patches were now no longer being sold since metro sports has ceased and merged with chris kay to form sportingID (ironically). The ones you saw in ebay are all reproductions... they are thin single layer PU patches, when the real epl "CHAMPIONS" patches are plastic but with 2 different layers.. One layer is thinner and is the outline surrounding the patches, second layer is thicker and is inside the patch (within the outline). Here's how it looks like:

Although metro sports sponsored United's nameset for 2000-2001, chris kay (being licensed by FAPL limited) still produced a one off special EPL champions patches for Man united fans to purchase and apply to their replica jerseys:

The patches has this one extra line ("The Millenium Season") and was only available as merchandises for fans.. never worn by the players (who wore the PU type epl patches with "CHAMPIONS" only)

Hope that answers your question
