According to my knowledge of BT, your method of avoiding early exit fee must be 'leaving certain months of minimum payment (RM50 or 5% whichever higher)', am I right?

Let say you purchased a DSLR for RM6000, installment 12months. Each month pay RM500.
After paying 9 months of installment (RM4500), you feel like wanna settle the installment. To avoid being charged early exit fee, you must leave a balance of RM6000*5%*3month=RM900 in the cc account. For simpler calculation, please avoid any retail trxn afterwards.

Above is just my case study. It does not make any financial advice.
In the reply i got from their online support officer, he said that their won't be any charges whatsoever. The reason i want to settle the 0% IPP early is because i plan to cancel the card before its anniversary month.

QUOTE(PPZ @ Jan 24 2011, 09:34 AM)
strangely but the CS agent told me that i can send it tomorrow but i can try later if not then i really waste my RM 98 rebate!!! really down if i cannot send it out!!!
If i'm not mistaken, you must send it in on the same day. Go to their website and download this promotion T&C PDF file.

Great! That is absolutely zero exit fee then. Lucky you.
Yeah. It is a great news indeed. But i wondered what is the procedure like. Do i have to inform them prior or something like that. Anyway, i shall find out soon smile.gif

QUOTE(chemistry @ Jan 24 2011, 04:47 PM)
Most cashiers do not verify the signatures on the trxn slip with the one at the back of the card.
Many times I "cincai"sign but never encountered problem.
QUOTE(erry- @ Jan 24 2011, 04:56 PM)
depends on the cashier. some cashier did check the card, if no signature he/she will ask u to sign it immediately there.
previously i also forget to sign replacement card, swipe at cashier many time and the cashier didnt check, till 1 day, got checked, so just sign.
Guys, she was asking if a transaction is valid if one did not sign on the credit card transaction receipt. Anyway, the bank requires us to sign on the receipt as a way to prove that we are indeed the ones who made the purchase (in case you dispute the transaction).

Nope
QUOTE(winner @ Jan 24 2011, 05:17 PM)
There was a time the cashier at Guardian forgot to keep the merchant's transaction slip. She gave me the wrong slip (merchant's copy which was signed) and she kept the customer's copy which was not signed instead, and I only noticed that when I was back home. However, the transaction still went through.
This is because they can print a duplicate receipt from the credit card processing terminal.

QUOTE(MGM @ Jan 24 2011, 05:19 PM)
Benefits for the Maybankard 2 Platinum and Gold are the same?

Only differences are the credit limits?
Besides what Winner mentioned, the other difference is the status.

QUOTE(winner @ Jan 24 2011, 05:22 PM)
I guess you would better get the black and white from HSBC before you make early settlement. Some banks require you to write in your request officially and most of them would impose early settlement fee.
I am writing to them via a secured message through HSBC online. Just sent them another secured message asking them what is the procedure like. What should i do before settling the 0% IPP at one go.

QUOTE(MGM @ Jan 24 2011, 05:53 PM)
Cash rebate from retail transactions exclude those done online.
What ? This is bad if true doh.gif

QUOTE(hebe87 @ Jan 24 2011, 06:19 PM)
ya...i don't feel like CS will be able to answer these kind of questions correctly.

Most of them are actually not aware of the products by their own bank, especially when we want detailed answer from them.. only the answer from staff from credit card department is reliable..
Agreed ! You probably can get a better answer here that is correct and faster laugh.gif

QUOTE(erry- @ Jan 24 2011, 06:25 PM)
OT, u want to know why?

bcoz most of the bank outsourced their call center.
the 1 who answer ur call is not working with the bank, but working with call center company sweat.gif
Not entirely true. Most banks in Malaysia still operate their own call centre in their head office usually.

But again, they did not have the merchant's copy signed by me. They did not have my signature though. Regardless of how many copies they could reproduce, none of them would be the "signed copy".
They still can claim the money as far as i am concerned. Problem will only arise if you refuse to honor the transaction and dispute it.

guys, a question, let's say we exceeded the credit card usage.
For example, the credit limit is 5k.
Spent until 5.2k.
If we pay the bank rm700 and the credit drops to 4.5k, can we still use the card?
Depends on which bank you are talking about. Certain banks won't even approve the transaction if there is insufficient balance in your account.

Anyway, assume you have maxed out your card credit limit of RM5k but already deposited RM700 into your card account later on. Then yes. You can use your credit card again and you will be able to swipe another RM700.

But company A do not have fixed phone number and just have the boss mobile contact only....?

Which type of cc is the best that i can apply? I seldom shopping and maybe just use cc for food, petrol, pay some debt, booking online,etc...

I seldom use actually, maybe i need free for life cc ? then i can use it when really needed.... smile.gif

Thanks if you can give an advise tongue.gif

Do you think "Direct Access MasterCard / Visa Gold" is good for me to apply? And will it approve my application?

One more thing is, how long i can know the result and get the card after i submit the application? Where i can collect the cc? Just wish to know tongue.gif
Have you ever tried CIMB Bank/Direct Access ? Since you're a degree holder, you can try Direct Access first.

if not, they 'take another' rm150/month sweat.gif
And if your total relationship balance falls below RM200k for 3 consecutive months, your account will be downgraded automatically to either the Advance Account or just some regular savings/current account.

Yes. It's probably just starting this year though. The World MasterCard was always missing from all the previous ads. Oh, and they call this card a new card sweat.gif

To all HSBC Premier World MasterCard holders, you may find this flash file useful to you.

but i did i pump hsbc at caltex on nov while waiting for my PBB esso/mobil.
swipe rm400 and received the rm10 already.

btw, the t&c is not so strict.
just, rm360,000 in cash rebate will be given away throughout the Promotion Period on a first-come-firstserved basis.
not sure now how much already being given.
There is another Caltex promotion that gives 5x points for each Ringgit charged to the card. This offer is valid until 31st March 2011 and it is applicable only to the new HSBC Premier World MasterCard.

By the way, it is officially confirmed that all the HSBC Premier MasterCard issued by HSBC Malaysia is a World MasterCard. All the correspondence sms sent out to its customers all clearly states either HSBC Premier World MasterCard or HSBC World Premier MasterCard.

I have a lil' bit prob here. I use a Maybank debit card that sort of function like a credit card also la. It's VISA. But when I want to purchase online items, they say don't know what denied. Is it because I'm 18 or is there any other reason I'm not aware of?
Did you have enough money inside your account when you attempted to charge something to the card ? Your card is a debit card and not a credit card. You must have sufficient balance in your account in order for a payment to go through.

Thanks nod.gif

I think my conclusion
1. Give two card(AMEX+Visa) but with one service tax correct?
Correct. And from April onwards, they will start to issue MasterCard + AMEX combo. Currently, only the VISA + AMEX combo on offered.

QUOTE(tachlio @ Jan 26 2011, 05:37 PM)
2. AMEX & Visa/Master give Treatpoint instead on AMEX giving Reward point which not combine
No. The Maybankard 2 AMEX will earn Treatpoint too just like the Maybank Islamic Ikhwan AMEX. Therefore, you will be able to combine the treatpoints earned through your Maybankard 2 AMEX with any other Maybank credit cards that are also on the Treatpoint program when making a reward redemption.

QUOTE(tachlio @ Jan 26 2011, 05:37 PM)
3. 5% Weekend cash back² when spend on Maybankard 2 American Express Card.

Other than that any significant advantage for it?
Besides the 5% weekend cash back for Maybankard 2 AMEX (capped at RM50/month), you will also continue to earn 5x treatpoints on top of it. On other days, you will only earn 5x treatpoints on all purchases.

I assume you are not currently a Maybank savings/current account holder and do not have access to Maybank2u.com.my ? Well, you still can sign up for Maybank2u.com.my with your Maybank credit card. All you need to do is to visit any Maybank branch and tell them you want to sign up for Maybank2u.com.my with your Maybank credit card and they will do the rest for you. They will ask you to create a temporary PIN number at the counter.

Yes. Still got interest.

Hi all,

What is the best way to cancel a credit card? Can I call to the call centre to cancel the card or do I need to go to the bank myself?
Send them a fax will do. But be sure to follow up to make sure the card really is canceled.

By the way, only certain banks allow you to cancel your credit card(s) over the phone.

or do they have a specific fax number for credit card?
03-2381 7198. I believe this is the direct fax to their credit card centre.

I got a GSC-EON CC,the issue is when I pay my retail item at shopping mall. When the salesman put in my card into the credit card machine terminal. It said cannot read. Clean up the chip using the eraser still the same. Then force me to use other card  cry.gif . When I go other place and try again,it's work and then I went to another place, its cannot work again  doh.gif . I called up to CS and told them the problem,I said chip got issue and I need a replacement. They said I need to pay RM50 sweat.gif , I heard from somebody said if card got chip problem,we can get replacement for free. I miss the cashback promo that running at this month.  sad.gif
Ask him/her to waive off the card replacement fee.
