And the funniest thing is that I do not own any CIMB/DA MC. I only have DA VI. But CIMB/DA sent me the promotion flyer which is only for MC.

QUOTE(Phelddagriff @ Jan 20 2011, 05:48 PM) For Burger King, I believe you get 10% at the counter every day, and get an additional 10% rebate on the statement for Sunday spending. Not a mistake. For KFC and Burger King, you said you can get 10% discount EVERYDAY plus an additional 10% rebate every Sunday? Are you sure? |

QUOTE(erry- @ Jan 20 2011, 09:19 PM) for me, mbb should have no prob upgrade mbb amex (amex with TP, not MR) such as pantai to this maybankard 2 amex. The CS officer advised me that the fastest way is to download the application form from M2U website and fax it directly to MBB Card Centre. This post has been edited by winner: Jan 20 2011, 10:48 PM |

QUOTE(pmtan @ Jan 20 2011, 10:41 PM) For CIMB card, is it only applicable for CIMB/DA World MasterCard or VISA Infinite? I heard it is possible to get instant platinum card at DA Card Centre in Damansara Heights. I would suggest you to contact the centre first before you decide to apply for CIMB/DA card. How about normal Gold card? This post has been edited by winner: Jan 20 2011, 10:47 PM |

QUOTE(erry- @ Jan 21 2011, 08:05 AM) Did you pay the amount in FULL or partial payment (such as booking fee or downpayment) via cc? I know most car dealers would accept cc payment for booking fee or downpayment only. If you want to pay more via cc, they would impose a surcharge.QUOTE(erry- @ Jan 21 2011, 08:49 AM) depends on where u go. I was in Shanghai a few month ago. Some ticket counters at tourist spots only accept VISA or UnionPay.example, giant jurong singapore only accept visa (2006 long ago. now might accept mc as well?). |

QUOTE(chemistry @ Jan 21 2011, 10:49 AM) Do you book air ticket online? If so, i'm afraid it is not entitled to 5% cashback because someone here mentioned online trxn is not Retail trxn. And it is stated by MBB that the cashback is for retail trxn only. Buying air tickets online is one type of retail transactions.QUOTE(jack2 @ Jan 21 2011, 10:49 AM) This morning I applied for Maybankard 2 Amex Platinum and VISA Platinum through phone. As I am already an Amex Gold credit cardholder, I am not required to fill in any form or attach any supporting documents. That's simple and fast. This post has been edited by winner: Jan 21 2011, 12:41 PM |

QUOTE(chemistry @ Jan 21 2011, 05:37 PM) I have enough MCs with me so that I don't mind to get a VISA (although it will probably turn into sleeping mode). With the addition of Maybank 2 Amex Platinum and VISA Platinum, I will retain SCB JustOne Titanium MC and OCBC Titanium MC. My cards to be terminated include Amex Gold cc and SCB Preferred WMC. I may or may not retain DA VI, depending on its BT programme. |

QUOTE(afad @ Jan 21 2011, 08:49 PM) so it depends on the bank policy also la, If you don't have enough money to buy the thing in the first place, just don't buy it. CC is a tool for convenience, not for debt accumulation.better ask the CS before making any transactions online, whether can or not use flexi payment, if cannot, once bought it, die standing me with the finance charge |

QUOTE(Nepo @ Jan 22 2011, 09:05 AM) SCB Platinum card-"Free unlimited asscess to KLIA Premium Plaza Lounge". Could anybody elaborate more on this term? Is it mean that the refreshment (food & drink) is provide free of charge for unlimited usage for any one day? Yes, everything in the lounge is FOC - food, beverage (even beer), magazines, newspaper, massage chair, internet, shower, etc. Nowadays I seldom use the facilities as the food sucks. Food in MAS Golden Lounge isn't good either. I only go there and read newspaper if I go to the airport early. QUOTE(timetravelller @ Jan 22 2011, 09:29 AM) but i have no enough money i still can buy it use cc what, let's say i ahve 25% of $ to buy an item, i just use cc swipe it la. then i use other other bank like DA BT6 months or MBB BT 12 month for interest free. why not?? provided ur credit limit divide by 12 is sufficient for ur monthly payment then everything is ok. u defeat the fully enjoyment of credit card. Banks definitely like a customer like you! A customer who spend beyond his/her mean and yet enjoy swiping card. |

QUOTE(chemistry @ Jan 22 2011, 05:08 PM) Sometimes CS officers really tested me seriously. I was asked some questions like "what's the 6th character of your security pin?" and "what's your memorable date other than your birthday?". This usually makes me think twice first before I could respond. |

QUOTE(andrekua @ Jan 22 2011, 06:28 PM) Are you sure such question were asked? I have been asked such question twice or trice, but I cannot remember which bank it is. They didn't ask me the full pin, it's one of the 6 characters. There's no way I could answer my security pin since I will burn it without reading it at all. QUOTE(Robin Liew @ Jan 22 2011, 06:32 PM) WTA, the cc given when taking housing loan like for PBB, after settlement of loan, the card will be cancelled? No. You can still use the card. The bank is more than happy to retain a customer if you wish to continue to hold the card. |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jan 23 2011, 09:18 AM) For Direct Access, you are required to create you own security pin up to 10 characters (can be less) and CS will usually ask what the the X character of your pin. Also there are other questions like favourite food or restaurant and memorable street, I think this system is the most secured unlike other banks security check where they just ask general questions like what was mentioned earlier. I recall that I was even thrown a question like "what's the 8th character of your security pin?". That CS officer really tested me hard as I only have a 6-number security pin. |

QUOTE(sweetpea123 @ Jan 23 2011, 12:37 PM) I know BUT not according to MBB CS ( I called), but of course, she can always be wrong as in 3-4 OCBC CS giving me wrong info that calculation is based on calendar month and NOT statement date. I guess the only way to be sure of all these is when we get the actual statement. Just double checking here cos petrol and online payment are top of my spendings. If you don't trust both forummers and CS officers, then it is no point to ask questions here as you won't be satisfied with whatever answer you receive. As per what you mentioned, it would be better to wait until the statement comes then you get the definite anwer. |

QUOTE(sweetpea123 @ Jan 23 2011, 01:49 PM) I trust certain forummers MORE than CS actually As you are well aware that this Maybankard 2 is a very new card and nobody here owns it now. If based on experience on other cash back cards from OCBC, Alliance and SCB, online payments are entitled to cash back. |

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jan 23 2011, 05:33 PM) As for secured lending such as house mortgage and hire purchase, you don't really need a prior credit history to help you to get your loan(s) approved. All the bank needs is your paycheck and of course, the bank will also take your total liability into consideration as well. Some senior forumers have told us in the past that their house mortgage was declined because their credit cards limits are too high. Talking about credit history, I have just gone to BNM a few days ago to have my latest credit report printed. It lists clearly all my liabilities with banks including BT amount and CL as well as all the approved loans for the past 12 months (even though I only accepted one of the 4 housing loans approved). I am sure some banks would consider CL as potential liability when processing loan application. QUOTE(David83 @ Jan 23 2011, 06:36 PM) I won't dare to swipe anything below RM10. Everybody at the queue and in the front desk will be giving me "that" look. I normally do this when there is nobody queuing behind me. I would just tell the cashier I do not bring cash. This post has been edited by winner: Jan 23 2011, 07:16 PM |

QUOTE(H4RRY @ Jan 23 2011, 05:45 PM) I also read some review on OCBC MC Titanium, you should use at least RM1000 per month to get the most from it. Otherwise, just get Maybankard 2. But the VISA is not as good and some retailers might not accept AMEX. So, I should get both Maybankard 2 and OCBC MC Plat? Use AMEX when possible and OCBC when AMEX not accepted? If I own both OCBC Titanium MC and Maybankard 2 Amex, I would use OCBC Titanium MC as much as possible for items under the 5% cash back (OCBC) category. This is because the annual cc service tax will be waived for total spending per annum of RM10,000 or more. As for other stuffs which are not under the 5% cash back (OCBC) category, I will plan my purchase during weekends with Maybankard 2 Amex for the 5% cash back (MBB), only if Amex is accepted by the merchants. |

QUOTE(pandazhun @ Jan 23 2011, 07:35 PM) any1 knows where can I get the list of merchant participating in OCBC Titanium MC rebate ? It is impossible to list down all the merchants entitled to 5% cash back, as there are too many locally and worldwide!at least any kind soul here to list down a few major 1 for me? You should compile those merchants supposedly giving 5% cash back but ending up with 1% cash back instead. I have one here - House & Co in Bangsar Shopping Centre. |
