How did you get SCB to give you free 11,000 points? They never gave me  mad.gif
By the way, why did you use 11,000 points to redeem the free RM50 service tax? I would have let them charge me for the service tax, then use 10,000 points to redeem cash back RM25 x 2 = RM50 credit. Balance still have another 1,000 points to use.
*
The service tax was charged in June 2010. Then SCB sent me an offer letter stating that they would give me free 11,000 points in July 2010. They did not relate it with compensation for service tax as they could not do it openly. Obviously, it was the compensation for service tax. I used my own 10,000 points to redeem the RM50 service tax payment. In return, I still got an additional 1,000 points.

Hmmm  hmm.gif
I must complain next year if I don't get the free 11,000 points.
Thanks for the tip.
*
The offer was given to selected customers only. I have no idea on whether SCB will continue to give free points this year. Even if SCB does not give me free points this year, I will still pay the service tax and continue using SCB JustOne Titanium MC as this card is simply too good.

Does Insurance Monthly Premium entitle to 0.5% cash back on the SCB Business Visa ?
*
Yes, 0.5% cash back plus 1x point for RM1 charged, equivalent to a total cash back of 1%.

M2 AMEX/VISA - Free for Life & 10,000TP to offset GST.

Right?
*
The 10,000 TPs are not free. They are your own points. However, it is not difficult to earn 10,000 TPs from Maybankard 2 Amex because of the 5x TPs.

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Feb 23 2011, 12:23 AM)
By the way, i swiped my Maybankard 2 VISA in HKD a few days ago and both transactions have finally appeared in my M2U. Below are the exchange rates for respective transactions for your reference.

18 Feb 2011
1. HKD12,848.00 > RM5,071.74  (HKD100 = RM39.475)
2. HKD171 > RM67.50  (HKD100 = RM39.474)

**Wawasan Sentosa's HKD rate on 18/2/2011 was HKD100 = RM39.30.
*
The rates look OK but it would be better if you could make the payment using 2 different cards and compare the rates.

First time called SBC 24-hour CS at 1800 882 588 dedicated for platinum holders.

Waited more than 5 mins and then someone picked up the call but I think he or she did not know how to handle call and the call was hangup... wtf
*
Call them during office hours. Sometimes those CS officers who are on duty after office hours only handle card loss and emergency cases.

I am quite satisfied with SCB CS. After trying OCBC, I would say OCBC CS is top notch and better than SCB.

I don't own AMEX. Can you clarify? You mean Shell station accept AMEX at the pump or at the cashier counter?
Thks.
*
Amex is accepted at Shell, both pump and counter. For you, it would be better to use OCBC Titanium MC if you manage to get it.

u use other cc to apply or what ?
*
I don't think one can get OCBC Titanium MC with just RM24,000 annual income. Like you said, if somebody who doesn't meet the income requirement but uses another cc with substantial CL as a reference card without providing income documents, then the application can be approved.

With annual income RM46k, i have these 2 in mind:
- Maybank2Cards
- OCBC Titanium
- Citibank Platinum (but i says RM48k min sweat.gif)

So, which one should I go for? Other cards recommendation is also welcome  icon_rolleyes.gif

Get the first 2 cards, it can't be wrong.

With the launch of GSC DEAL, I think Visa Plat will gain back some customers especially cinema kaki. The potential savings can be greater than Mastercard, if he/she uses the card everyday.
*
To me, my DA VI is useless except for BT. Until now, my DA VI's transaction remains zero. But I will still keep it for the 0% interest BT programme.

Thanks to GSC Deal.

You buy GSC tickets in bulk and sell them later? This kind of business is too small and not my cup of tea.

Then, among the first 2 cards, which one is better? hmm.gif
Some info:
- I pumped Esso petrol
- Shopping
- Auto-billing for telco

Thanks in advance. ..
*
It depends on your spending pattern. If you are not a big spender, you can opt for OCBC Titanium MC. Do note that the maximum cash back per month is RM50 only. If you spend more, you get NOTHING - NO cash back and NO reward points.

Maybankard 2 Amex is good, as it gives UNLIMITED 5x TPs everyday plus additional 5% cash back on weekends (subject to a maximum cash back of RM50 per month). However, Amex is not widely accepted in Malaysia and overseas at this point in time. You need to have other cards like MC or VISA as a backup.

Most of us get the 2 cards above, to enjoy the cash back and points to a greater extent.

Maybank pre-selected me for Maybank 2 Cards + 10000 treat points. I don't know why they keep on sending pre-selected cards for me everytime there's a new card. It's getting annoying. Platinum but the min. income requirement is just RM5k a month, and no access to KLIA lounge. Bleh tongue.gif
*
You are lucky to be selected for the free 10,000 TPs, which can be use to offset the RM50 service tax later. That means, your Maybankard 2 cards are FOC in terms of AF as well as service tax for first year.

QUOTE(kartz25 @ Feb 23 2011, 09:33 PM)
When I think back, I think I know why it was rejected, because the existing c/c which I faxed the copy only had a CL of 6k which I purposely asked the bank to reduce last time to reduce risk of losing the card.
So this OCBC must have assumed my pay is insufficient, which instead they should have asked me for proof of latest income. So dungu of OCBC...then on the other hand they may be full of applicants already. Anyway for those of you who are applying , dont do the same as me.
*
You should give them a copy of your salary payslip. You can't blame OCBC, as any staff processing the application will think your monthly salary is only RM2,000 given a CL of RM6,000.

On a separate note, I have managed to reduce permanently the CL of my OCBC Titanium MC to just RM6,000, taking into consideration the maximum cash back cap of RM50 per month.

Any kind members received the Maybankard 2 invitation letter on free 10k TP, care to share a scanned copy of the letter? You can edit & hide your name. Thanks
*
The offer is given to selected customers only. It is meaningless to see the content actually.

If OCBC processing officers feel they are confident and comfortable to have a customer like you, they won't call you or check you through your HR Department.

Banks' main source if income is from INTEREST. You think banks give loans for free? Banks give you more than 20 days of interest-free period, it is fair to charge you interest if you do not pay your outstanding balance in full.

Me too.
SCB don't have black&white AF waiver condition. I'm worried too. When one day SCB refuses to waive, that will be cancellation day LOL. However IMHO it depends whether he/she thinks that AF justifies the number of visits to Plaza Premium Lounge..
*
AF for all SCB CCs (except old SCB VI which was open to non-PB customers) can easily be waived upon request.

SCB ChoicePoints is valid for 3 years (edited) and I like that it can be converted to cash [RM25 = 5000 ChoicePoints]
*
For SCB CCs, the best redemption is actually cash redemption which requires lower points compared to shopping vouchers. Unless you have SCB Preferred WMC, where you can redeem a few premium items at more than 50% discount points as opposed to normal points required.

On top of the free unlimited access to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge, every RM1 spent on your SCB Platinum in overseas will give you 3x points. But it is still cannot beat Maybankard 2 Amex which gives 5x points. Do note that both SCB and Amex impose higher admin fee on forex conversion.

No way! You cannot pay your loan using cc.

*
You may request the bank to restructure your debt but the chance could be slim. Or else, you can consider to do BT.
