Woah... 360000 bph? That's 10 times faster than an el primero. rclxub.gif

read with care! if the entire watch running so fast the pwr res must be low. or they must done something on the main spring. I wonder how long the watch run out of juice if we keep the chrono running!
http://mastering-speed.tagheuer.com/mikrograph
"It is comprised of a balance wheel for the watch moving at 4 hertz, 28’800 vibrations per hour, with a 42-hour power reserve ; for the stopwatch, the high frequency Swiss balance wheel oscillates at 50 hertz, 360’000 vibrations per hour, with a 90-minute power reserve, displaying this 1/100th of a second with the central chronograph hand. "

Tag still rely on Zenith for a High beat movement. lets not get too excited

Thanks for clarifying... I guess I jumped the gun a little...  sweat.gif
I remember that the Tag pendulum oscillates at 48000bph? correct me if I'm wrong?
Although still in concept stage though...
yes its at that rate, issue is magnets are sensitive to temperature! tag has not found a way to overcome that yet.
seiko spring drive quartz crystal is at going at 32,768hz, glide wheel's speed is 8hz or 57600bps

not sure when will it happen. they said to stop in 2010. isn't today 2011?
http://www.luxist.com/2009/12/30/swatch-gr...h-movements-to/

awhile back they also threaten to stop selling movement kits. This entire movement is driven by the late Mr. Nicolas G. Hayek. With him gone I think they will just make it harder for companies outside swatch to get ETA movement.

Yeah, Eur60 for Engraving...

Is that how the less VAT is calculated?
I calculate as 799 minus 19%.... that's what I punch in the calculator.
Coz Nadja did not specify.
Her reply was, just deduct 19% for taxes.
So should it be 799 divide by 1.19 or 799 minus 19%?
*
19% for tax? I don't think that is right. VAT refund is usually at 16%.
120 for shipping that is high.
today germany only ships thru DHL overseas, they do not have local post office doing that.
UHR only cost ~eur$30 to ship out of EU. The handling fees is way to high. if diff is ~300 rm might as well get it locally.

@patryn, yes 19% based on my previous experience (Laco and a strap from Germany) And my strap is shipped by registered airmail.
@hanz, glad can help. I would say go for Gnomon coz of ready stock. Unless you want special engraving :-)
*
19% for laco that is new.
most german seller do 16% as VAT refund is at 16%. 19% really surprise me.
where did U get the strap from? the last place no VAT refund. they charge me 19%.

Do that comparison its really comparing apple to oranges.

Cheapest JLC is ~us$4k or a mid range Tag.

Actually, what you get is normally what you paid for.
If you wanna save and get Chinese watches, be prepared and not expect swiss quality...
But I am impressed with the China made....clone?
Everything is a copy except the finishing...
*
QUOTE(MeToo @ Mar 21 2011, 03:29 PM)
Um... original copies from China comes in many different grade i understand, those u find in Sungei Wang/petalign street for RM150 omega seems to be the lower grades. Those "replica" costing upto ~RM1k is more liek grade AA and hard to tell the difference for the untrained eyes. Anyone have experienced with such higher quality replicas?

(I know of a friend who got some LV replicas bags costing about 30% of real LV for his wife from korea, even the LV store sales girl in KL is hard pressed to tell the difference...)
*
guys! U ppl really need to on the link before jumping into conclusion.
The post is on Claro-Semag CL-888 (Swiss Legend watch) versus Sea-Gull ST16 (Seagull Watch).
Claro-Semag is a clone of the China Seagull movement. We are not talking China copying swiss, it is Swiss copying China!

Seagull watch still have replica?
its is really OMG! sweat.gif

Hi folks. Am new to this thread and have been lapping up all the info here apart from those posted on WUS. My eyes are set on these:

1. Mido Commander - Gent - 37 mm M8419.4.51.8 (ETA 2836-2)

2. Mido Baroncelli Power Reserve (ETA 2897)
Mido used alot of Top grade movements.
Any idea what is the price of the above watches locally?

Here is a Msia online store prices

speaking of Mido, i now fancy something like this...
http://www.mido.my/en/node/2113

more complications, more interesting i guess..hahahahaha  but havent really check out the pricing yet....
*
rose gold, my guess is around US$3K. The all dial steel complication is already selling at US$2.4k in grey.
get a UHR (posted a page or 2 eariler) on same movement maybe 1 grade lower the cost is at EUR$710 or ~US$1K.

I own a vintage Mido Ocean star model is 1960s. I got it for ~US$60. running pretty well.
compare to Tissot I rather pay for a Mido. some brand just not super famous.
keep in mind prices always increase by a good 5-10% annually.

today there are much cheaper alternatives with independent brands (listed on page 1 post 1).
there is a nomos 33 on sale in jwwatch.com for 50% off. inhouse movement.

thanks for those online sites..never seen them before......

Regarding plain dial PR display, i used to think about saving up a bit more and go for the NOMOS...that's really a beauty. ..but a bit too small sized it seems..
http://en.item.rakuten.com/jackroad/nm012/
http://www.glashuette.com/index.php?id=50&L=1
*
I own a nomos 37mm and it certainly wear big. the lack of bezel makes the dial look big. The lug is also protrudes out making the feel big although the size of the case is small at 35mm. I am not the only one that felt that, many Ang Mo on WUS also share the same feeling. It has been selling pretty well in Europe I gather if it is not small for European shouldn't be that small for us asians.

BTW,how is the Dievas vintage.is it good,worth the money?2k+ for a homage.
*
that isn't RXW. iirc RXW didn't write anything on the dail. those that write MM are usually Chinese made homages.
rxw now is at RM$1.5K and it is anti magnetic. I rather pay for a RXW unless these is a particular Dievas homage U like
which devias vintage are u looking at?
