dv6 series often known to have a lot of heating issues because of the ventillation design.. Not sure they have solved this problem yet, if they did then it's quite a good buy... definitely better than XPS...

until today,i dint saw any update from local HP regarding new model with sandy bridge

yup it's surprisingly cheap... seems like HP prices are adjusting in Malaysia as well for their new models.. Just like Apple and Dell...

I was amazed too by the new price of HP..way cheaper than usual..

I've called HP pre-sales consultant and she told me that this is a new model released a week ago and is priced at RM 3299 ( online price )

international warranty, 1 year ( provided the country you're going have the same exact model )

well i'd say its a good buy with that kind of spec, but still holding my thought as someone mentioned it has overheating issues. Is there any other way to counter this problem?

considering Acer Asipre 5750G comes with GT 540M and rm3k...

the good thing bout this hp notebook is that the ram is 1x4gb instead of 2x2gb. I can upgrade easily and i need LOTS of ram for my work.

GT 540M, 96SP, 128-bit GDDR5/GDDR3

HD6550m, 400SP, 128-bit GDDR3

GT 540M clear winner, considering GT 335M is 72SP only...

now that's interesting, cuz according to notebookcheck, there's also a HD6650m which features 480SP, 20% more than HD6500M series, yet HD6570m is on top of it...

so it all boils down to if GDDR5 is really used on HD6570m...

now looking back at HP's past history, they love to use the cheaper option, let's hope it's different this time round...

6570 got 2 types la.
one ddr3, one gddr5.
hp is giving the gddr5 version.

HD6570M still not undergo benchmarking test..

Obviously 1Gb GDDR5 > 1Gb GDDR3 ..

if not mistaken a couple of week ago hp dv6-4103tx was start selling at singapore sg dollar 1899. i think is about the same spec as the 4003tx. so if 4003tx is sold at rm3300 then really is good bargain

the dv7 4290 selling for usd1100 only!
really wth o. with current exchange rate. it is almost as cheap the local, lower spec version.

HP has always been cheap in the USA because it's from there.. Can't compare lar... If you compare past prices, Malaysia have lowered it down a lot already...

You can check with sellers at garage sales.

I will wait for a week or two more if I were you to see the situation...

With Sandy Bridges laptop + Strong GPU sold for such low prices, I am sure there're more models with similar specs coming out at similar prices.. By then you would have more choices and more user feedbacks...

It's been just 10 days since Intel launched SB.
SB notebooks might have already shipped out from the factory during last December.

Its 1GB GDDR3..watch de video..

If that is so, I would choose 5750G over Y560P... But HP dv6 is the best buy among the 3... Just need to wait for some proper reviews to see the temperatures..

The price should be right.
If you look at the past history, HP Pavillions (with high-end processors) are in the premium category (with the price tag of RM3k & above).
The cheaper solution is Compaq Presario.

Actually i just checked and was surprised too! I called HP sales consultant yesterday and she told me its RM3299.

I'm not sure why now its 4299, is it a different model? and their website is just so confusing.

i agree i find the hp site annoying...especially the way they categorize things.
like u posted before, maybe its online price? but thats a huge difference. honestly i would imagine it to be 4299 instead of 3299 looking at past models and prices

hi, as a trader for HP laptops, do u encounter any problems or feedback from customers regarding your dv6 models as there's like overheating problems or blackout problems and anything else?

the price for HP Pavilion dm4-1202TX is rm3999 with so much lower spec
so rm3299 for dv6-4003tx doesn't make sence at all, most propably is typo error

is their website place a wrong price and we place order, will HP honour te deal?

if you ask acer sale agent whether 5750g got BT most probably they will say yes

can't compare like that, Malaysia always have a few models much cheaper than other countries for budget users.. Besides, it's a pattern that a lot of laptop prices selling as low as USA prices recently, such as Apple, Dell etc.... Remember Asus A42Jv selling for Rm2.5k and it was much cheaper than SG as well...

We've got cheap hot brands like Dell (including AW), Asus, Acer, Lenovo and Toshiba.
Big contributions from on-line sellers at garage sales.

Retailers at Sim Lim Square do not have to dump price on the Internet. Just not necessary.
They are well positioned in the island.

RM2999 for i7-2630QM (with Radeon 6570 DDR5? and 1x4GB?)
This is the best now.

Very aggressive pricing approach from Lenovo.
The price is now very "Lenovo" instead of "IBM".
Additional RM38 for the 2nd year onsite warranty sounds good to me.
