What is the required system specs to run GTA smoothly?

Is a low end i7 with a 5770 enough?
I mean is my rig enough to play gta4 smoothly on say medium and 720p?

you actually need a pretty good rig to run it. i would recommend a 5850 at least.

but what i read is a Quad-core processor is more important than a good gc for this game.

last time i played (back when i was a game pirate)
my hd3870 + athlon x2 7750 BE can play this game no prob.but that time,i only opt for smaller resolution,as i only got a 15inch lcd yawn.gif

but make sure u got a hefty ram size for justice.running on 64bit is a plus if u installed >4gb ram.2gb just won't do

set the lowest graphic details,& work from there.i'll be installing back mine, after i finish re-downloading the game...

I upgraded to an ATI HD 5750 and I was still getting 30 fps.

having a quad core helps ALOT, dont expect play to be smooth though, since even high spec cpu's have trouble running gta 4 smoothly

i7920 and gtx285, it runs pretty good here with draw distance at max and co.

Lots of options to tune the graphcis anyway.
