After u apply lagfix, you go into backup and restore option? Sometimes I get messed up in there also. Factory reset. Then check the files names. Most probably you're missing dbdata.img file in clockworkmod/backup.

FWIW, it is just a boot animation. The only downside is maybe the ugly bootanimation will not appease your non-android-using friends. If you want to show off, you'll want a cool one right?

BTW, in my personal opinion and observation, his attitude does indeed a bit childish. That is why I avoid his rom and go to other pro and experienced rom cookers.

Bottom line, if you don't like it, change the boot animation or switch rom. It takes no more than 30 minutes.
speedmod N version is out already. I switched from super optimized kernel to hardcore's M version together with switching from JPY modem to JPP modem. I got excellent battery life. Zero percent battery loss when data is off (at night).

BTW gmhafiz, when u switch from super optimised to hardcore kernel, don't u feel the sluggishness? I've been following all the latest hardcore's kernel and up to K12O I stopped and used super optimised instead. Gameplay begin to be smoother, UI is smoother I didn't know it can go smoother but it did. Especially gameloft's games, don't know why since last time hardcore kernel already have probs with gameloft games for me.

I don't know if the improvement is made by switching to speedmod alone or together with the modem. I used JPP modem with earlier version of speedmod. I can say that I got better call quality and gps navigation than JPA modem.

Although it is from Doc's thread, I use it for insanity rom and it works just fine. Should work with darkyy's too.

Depending on the region/area, you may get different performance. So my advice is to try all of the modems and see which one suits you best. YMMV.

Maybe, there was a bit lag for a few hours of usage. But even now, there were few occasions where I experienced some delay. About to test playing asphalt now.
update: absolutely no problem with asphalt on hardcore M version. But I have applied ext4 lagfix. On SO, I didn't apply any lagfix.

actually if i just install speedmod kernel without doing any tweaks or lagfix, the performance just the same as normal stock kernel? another question is is it possible to flash another modem in the dxjpe rom?

ic...i wanna know whether i using dxjpe stock rom now..i wanna flash a custom xxjpx modem coz i saw the review that modem have good gps lock...wonder if i just flash the modem...will my phone data gone?

They will not be affected.
No need to rename. When you are in recovery mode, choose "install zip from sdcard" and then "choose zip from sdcard"

Use volume rocker for up and down, back button to select.

Shouldn't the modem be applied through odin? Didn't know it can flash through cwm.. Correct me if im wrong

guys. the wifi fix by hardcore, when u guys mentioned 'flash it', does in means in CWM choose the 'apply update.zip (need change name to update.zip' method of browse to the folder where ur file is, and then 'flash it like we flash darky rom?

Guys...can I still flash a new firmware onto my phone even though I have hardcore's speedmod kernel installed? Do I have to remove it somehow? I must say...with this speedmod...the phone is blazing fast even without lagfix!! SGS FTW!

dropped my SGS when i was walking towards my car just now.. dropped at the 'tar' road (jalan tar u call it.. haha).. dented on the lower steel.. luckily still can use..
