If you mean the application, go to the SW Update in the Application folder and update from there.

For the maps, you should be able to update it through the Nokia Ovi Suite under the map section.

u need manually flash it .. even i bricked my C6 yesterday bcos wrong file .. JAF with a bunch of original firmwares will act as a CPR now

mmm .. unfortunate of course, since u dont intend to flash it anyway .. there are possibilities for u to send to Nokia centres for a warranty claim due to electricity failure

latest ovi maps is ver 3.06, grab it at nokia betalabs, need to register first lah...

old maps for ver 3.03 or 3.04 is useless with ver, so need to download a fresh new maps via internet directly using wifi or 3g connection...
malaysia map is about 45MB, so youre advised to update the map using wifi...

download the orginal v52 firmware with navifirm, then flash using dead usb method... happen to me several times, no need to worry m8...

same with ofw... last about 36 hours for me...

I felt it has extended a bit, can last 3 days.
