My line-up would be

VDS
Rafael-Vidic-Ferdinand-Evra
Nani-Carrick-Fletcher-Anderson-Giggs
Rooney
Anderson to help upfront with Rooney. Carrick to control midfield. Fletcher to backup defense against Van Der Vaart.
*
my preferred line up too. Rooney arent in his top form, but he's certainly the best choice to play alone up front. Berba can enter in latter stage of the match, if we chase the game.

4-4-2 are too risky, but if SAF opt to 4-4-2, it'll be an open and cracking match. either we spank them, or we lose our unbeaten record.

i hope by 70th minute, berbatov and chicharito can sub in. Chicharito's freshness would definitely be a boost. And how can we waste Berbatov's form biggrin.gif

Why should we go with 4-5-1? 2 upfront much better.

i thk main reason is to boss the midfield, compact it, gain more possession...SAF always use this against better(dont wan to use bigger liao) teams, be it home or away

If not wrong spurs also playing 4-5-1 right with CDC support the striker... Away from home n spurs quick winger think SAF will use 5 across midfield to slow down spurs winger maybe we can see scholes Fletcher carrick at center..

silencing bale is going to be number on priority i guess. We have all seen how spurs fall when bale is silenced.

well, guess its pressure on us then. Its not going to be a walk in the park against Spurs especially at WHL. Hopefully, our lads have that mentality to win the game as Spurs are really dangerous. Their wings of Bale and Lennon could easily outpace out full backs. Hope Rafael can do his job (Pls be fit and start plss) and as for Evra, i hope Vidic covers enough for him when he is on his offensive track.

I think one of the most important figure in the game would be Carrick and how he help control midfield. Aint going to be easy in WHL but Carrick at his best =) definitely possible.

My line-up would be

VDS
Rafael-Vidic-Ferdinand-Evra
Nani-Carrick-Fletcher-Anderson-Giggs
Rooney
Anderson to help upfront with Rooney. Carrick to control midfield. Fletcher to backup defense against Van Der Vaart?
p/s: i think we shouldnt put Chelsea off the race just yet. Seems to get back on their track. A clean sheet and 2 goals yawn.gif And according to some Chelsea fans forummers, their youngsters are really promising (though i didnt watch the game, was watching city game.. EPIC). So erm , yeah Sheep, continue ur jinx pls tongue.gif

Yeah, I firmly believe we cannot write anyone off just yet. Chelsea can still save their season and now with the others winning their games yesterday, the pressure is on for both teams tonight to prove their title credentials.

In SAF's word, it's squeaky bum time.

United are playing an in form Tottenham away. We did that the last time we played Tottenham and it worked out well. I wouldn't blame SAF if he decided to play 5 in midfield again. Especially when their main threat comes from the midfield. E.g. VDV and Bale.

Ala please la i don't want us to play with 4-5-1 formation. Better stick with our traditional 4-4-2.

LOL no la, this jinx stuff is too complicated that i would never understand how it works moreover to become one.

Seriously we need to play with 4-4-2. We need to attack, attack attack and attack.
VDS
Rafael - Vidic - Ferdinand - Evra
Nani - Carrick-Fletcher - Giggs
Rooney - Berbatov

when we play 4-5-1..we are not really that effective up front...
but when we play 4-4-2...we might exposed our defense to spurs..maybe rooney and berbatov up front and rooney pulling back to left midfield to control the midfield when needed biggrin.gif

dun care how it'll pans out. longs berba/carrick goal can edi. sweet 3pts. but my hope wont be so high, even a draw will be suffice considering we're playing @ WHL. who's the ref this time around? mark or howard?

I recalled Rafael handled Bale comfortably last time. And I expect him to repeat that tonite. I prefer 4-4-2 with Fletcher on VDV. Rooney to play behind Berbatov

I hope we play our normal 4-4-2 with berba and rooney starting. But Spurs is a super attacking team and i think we need to stock the midfield with Fletch,Carrick,Ando. Park wouldve been great for this game.
Or we can even try 4-4-1-1 with Giggsy behind Rooney/Berba.
