QUOTE(FiragaZ @ Apr 15 2011, 12:01 PM) default 1.8v rite? i heard drop it will lower temp when set around 1.7v, but it doesn work for me, i set it 1.7v. My bios setting just let me set 1.5v, 1.6v, 1.7v, 1.8v, cant 1.71 or 1.82. It doesn't matter and this value can be reduced safely. I suggest you to read some Sandy Bridge overclocking guide and it's very informative |

QUOTE(davidbilly87 @ Apr 17 2011, 06:45 PM) which type of BSOD?QUOTE BSOD codes for overclocking 0x101 = increase vcore 0x124 = increase vcore 0x0A = unstable RAM/IMC, increase QPI first, if that doesn't work increase vcore 0x1E = increase vcore 0x3B = increase vcore 0x3D = increase vcore 0xD1 = QPI/VTT, increase/decrease as necessary, can also be unstable Ram, raise Ram voltage 0x9C = QPI/VTT most likely, but increasing vcore has helped in some instances 0x50 = RAM timings/Frequency or uncore multi unstable, increase RAM voltage or adjust QPI/VTT, or lower uncore if you're higher than 2x 0x109 = Not enough or too Much memory voltage 0x116 = Low IOH (NB) voltage, GPU issue (most common when running multi-GPU/overclocking GPU) 0x7E = Corrupted OS file, possibly from overclocking. BSOD code can only be seen in win. try increase vcore to 1.3v, later when got into win slowly decrease vcore. take note that LLC will either increase or decrease vcore during load depends on settings. C states are related to power saving, noth to do with ur BSOD full specs of PC would be helpful. |

Found out one thing, if CPU PLL Overvolt is disabled, more vcore is needed if reduce the CPU PLL voltage.
Sandy is quite boring compare to the x58 & to my daily usage i found my 990x previously is much better than the current SB T_T |
