Added on January 8, 2011, 2:59 am1.The dwarven racial trait Stoneform now reduces all damage taken by 10%, rather than increasing armor by 10%. It also increases the dwarf's size when used

1)they are nerfing Bloodlust in Arena's sad.gif. I dont really mind.. but thats the most important thing that any shammy can bring..
2) They are nerfing purge... i hope they dont nerf its ability to remove mages/priest bubbles.. thats the most important thing that purge can do.. especially against farked up frost mages -.-

I don't pvp much so its ok for me if they remove BL in arena

Personally i think shaman is quite a balanced class now except maybe for ele shammy

only surv hunter is OP...
BM and MM are still pretty weak thus buffing the skills used by those classes...
on the other hand, surv getting a sofy nerf via agi...

Survival hunters are not overpowered at all. Under normal circumstances, where raid buffs are non-existent, all the classes can do comparable dps, provided they are of the same level of gear and skill.

When raids are concerned, hunters can benefit from the widest range of raid buffs, even more so than other classes.
This gives hunters their edge.

Also the fact that current raid mechanics often put melee dps at a rather huge disadvantage. shakehead.gif

Now, if they buffed hunter pets to do comparable dps to say, an unholy DK's pet, besides the pet utility and keep everything the same, then hunters will be OP brows.gif

now look at the other 2 hunter spec (BM and MM), those are among the lowest now even below melees...

* Meta gems with the Chaotic and Relentless prefixes now have a requirement of 3 red gems.
* New meta gems have been added: Agile Shadowspirit Diamond (Agility/3% critical damage), Reverberating Shadowspirit Diamond (Strength/3% critical damage), and Burning Shadowspirit Diamond (Intellect/3% critical damage). These new recipes are unbound and can drop from any Cataclysm creature. The new meta gems have a requirement of 3 red gems equipped.

Thank god for the fix. Dps meta that required more Blue gems then Red is just lame

IMO, they should increase the time on thrash (dot) for better aggro management for bears with such drastic nerfs on the main abilities. I doubt thrash is useful in PVP.

they are planning to make it scale wit haste...
atm haste is the weakest stat for a bear...
stamina is rated 50pt vs haste at 2pt...

Just read the new patchnotes PTR, GG they are nerfing the heroics and they said heroics were fine as it is intentionally released. yawn.gif

On a side note, alchemist rejoice on getting which don't require them to buy expensive DMC.

Alchemist's Stones for Agility, Strength, and Intellect have been added.

Also i'm looking forward to them re-introducing Sacred Shield to paladins.

When reduced below 30% health, you gain the Sacred Shield effect. The Sacred Shield absorbs [1 + 2.8 * AP] damage and increases healing received by 20%. Lasts 15 sec. This effect cannot occur more than once every 30 sec. 30 sec cooldown.

          o Sadly, in his hubris he has forgotten how to Mend Rotten Flesh.

    * Lord Walden
          o Conjure Poisonous Mixture now deals more initial damage.
          o Frost Mixture is now area-of-effect damage.
          o Toxic Catalyst now deals less damage over time.


The Stonecore

    * Stonecore Earthshapers' Dust Storm does slightly less damage.
    * Corborus
          o The warning time for Thrashing Charge has been increased by 1 second. In addition, Thrashing Charge now happens 4 times, down from 5.
          o The visual for Rock Borers spawning during the submersion phase is now different from the Thrashing Charge visual.

    * High Priestess Azil
          o She grew! She's now 175% the size of a human, up from 125%.
          o Gravity Wells should kill Devout Followers more quickly.
          o The cast time of Force Grip is now 1.5 seconds, up from 1.
          o The size of the warning visual for Seismic Shard has been increased to more accurately reflect the area it affects.
    * Slabhide
          o The ground phase lasts longer and has fewer stalactites.
    * Ozruk
          o There is now a precast visual on the ground to make it clear how far away a player must get to be clear of Shatter.
          o The cast time of Shatter has been increased to 3 seconds, up from 2.5.
          o Shatter damage is now reduced by armor, but has been increased by 33.3% (repeating, of course) as a result.
    * Bug Fixes
          o Fixed a bug that made Ozruk's Shatter knockback component 10-yard range while the damage had a 15-yard range. Both are 15 yards now.


Throne of the Tides

    * The damage done by Lady Naz'jatar's Shock Blast and Naz'jar Tempest Witch Chain Lightning has been reduced.
    * Tainted Sentries Swell damage has been reduced.
    * The damage of Blight of Ozumat has been reduced by 25% per stack.


The Vortex Pinnacle

    * Creatures
          o Desperate Speed cast by Temple Adepts has had its duration reduced significantly.

    * Altairus
          o The visual effects in this encounter have been adjusted to make the wind direction easier to read.
          o Cyclones now knock players straight up, and players hit by a cyclone cannot be hit again for a few seconds.
    * Asaad
          o Skyfall Stars are now summoned to help him defeat players.
          o Static Cling has had its cast time increased to 1.25 seconds, up from 1.
    * Grand Vizier Ertan
          o His health has been reduced slightly.
          o He now knocks away players standing too close to him when he retracts his Cyclone Shield, which now inflicts Nature damage if it touches players.
    * Bug Fixes
          o Fixed a bug that made Ozruk's Shatter knockback component 10-yard range while the damage had a 15-yard range. Both are 15 yards now.

I saw the new shaman patch details on mmo champion. Tremor totem is going to be a free trinket for shaman's. Actually a pretty good totem. The nerf the purge is not going to be so bad for me smile.gif. Lets see how it goes lah.

Frost Mages were the annoying ones (I hesitate to say OP) and they have been nerfed some with the new PTR notes.

The standardised 8-second CC for PVP (including Sap) is both welcomed (from a Prot Pally point of view) and also a little harsh (playing Devil's Avocado). Still doesn't stop chain-Polymorphs and Fear is still a pain in the rear regions.

Public Test Realm Patch 4.0.6 Notes - Updated Jan. 12

8second cc change is a huge change, considering dr would make it 4secs/2secs. Just hand of sac ur teammate thats being targetted to protect yourself against cc... Too bad no more div sac.. And if u have a unholy dk teammate, /cast unholy frenzy on you too.. Not to mention now no more thrash debuffs so dispelling cc is a breeze.

They reverted the changes to Serpent Spread and reduced the nerf to Explosive Shot and Black Arrow (15% damage nerf vs 25% damage nerf)

To be fair, Bubbling and Lay on Hands cause Forbearance. Except Forbearance duration is going to be halved...

1)i fought a pally.. as a shadow priest during the first week of cata when i reached 85. We were both equally geared in normal dungeon gear (pvp gear was not out yet).

2) he bubbled, when he was low on health and healed.. so i healed as much as i can.. Then i fought again with putt all my dots up and feared and he was low on health as well.. but he layed of hands

Right now Forbearance lasts 2 minutes, locking out Divine Shield, Lay on Hands and Hand of Protection.

Current 4.0.6 PTR reduces the duration of Forbearance to 1 minute.

And the above scenario sounds familiar. Just like this morning while doing Therazane dailies. Random dorf MS Warrior charged me. Pulled up Divine Protection (20% damage reduction) and wings, switched to Seal of Insight, free instant 12k heal with Word of Glory, put up Guardian of Ancient Kings (50% damage reduction), 18k crit Shield of Righteous, Hammer of Wrath, gg.

Didn't get a chance to use Ardent Defender (15% damage reduction + 20% HP auto-res), bubble or LoH.

Only then BM will be viable. laugh.gif

I'm guessing they will revert most of the hunter nerfs by the end of PTR.

Sinestra dps charts just came back, and not surprisingly, survival hunters aren't even top. More like middle of the table, not even in the top half.

Hunters are top on some fights, but not on a very commanding lead.

its based on the fight...
if u actually read about the fight mechanics for sinestra (especially on the damage booster like http://www.wowhead.com/spell=92955 etc), it is no surprise that their hunters are not topping especially with their strat (mostly hunters are kiting the Shadow Orbs - Two orbs appear near two players. They need to kite the orbs near each other outside of the raid or do 75k damage to anyone in range. These appear once every 30 seconds in Phase 1 and Phase 3. The two kiters need to kite these for about 15 seconds.)...
not to mention the p3 have 100% haste which benefit casters more than surv hunters...

other fights surv hunter are still topping and for that alone, they are still getting the nerfbat...
1 fight is not enough justification and blizz have enuff numbers to warrant the nerf...
one of the best measurement would be on BH where it is a tank spank fight most of the time for range...

Erm, so how do you explain DKs being top two in every fight? Nobody complained when DKs were top dps (for a very long time I might add, even now in cata) in WotLK. MM hunters got lucky with armor penetration, though now the stat has since been removed. Blizz has a very bad track record with balancing classes, you know this when blizz nerfed BM hunters in TBC to oblivion, and BM has never recovered since.

Haste actually benefits hunters a lot, from cobra shot cast time to focus regeneration. Cobra Shot itself is among the top two of a survival hunter's damaging attacks.

Well, now if they fixed the first five bugs, I would be a happy huntress. biggrin.gif

dks getting nerfed as well that's y lol (see the link i've linked b4 with hunters being top 3 in almsot everyfight alongside dks)...
and DK are doing sick dps due to the fight mechanic (the reflect)...
try reading on the fight and u can see why is it so...

and since when TBC hunters are bad?
hunters were topping DPS as BM during those times especially brutalus (a good dps measure)...
even kiljaeden kills had BM hunters and they are doing very good dps...

and no haste doesnt help hunters as much as casters as for cata, casters are forged to get lots of hit and most of them sacrificing haste...
with the amount of haste buffed in the encounter, the scaling increases more (especially dots which procs nukes)...

Survival

    * Bad Manner (monkey) now properly breaks from damage.


Glyphs

    * Glyph of Concussive Shot redesigned. It now limits the maximum run speed of the target while Concussive Shot is active.


Hunter Bug Fixes

    * Aimed Shot no longer ignores the Fire! buff when cast by macro.
    * Camouflage is now breaking when the hunter's traps deal damage to a target.
    * Chimera Shot's particle effect animations should now display correctly.
    * Cobra Shot now properly increases the duration of the Serpent Spread Serpent Sting.
    * The Focus Fire spell effect is now cooler than your best collection of green rectangles.
    * Wild Quiver's effect per point of mastery value should now be consistent.
    * Before shooting, male undead hunters will no longer look away from their targets.


Pet Fixes

    * Pet families added in Cataclysm should not be missing talents.
    * Pets should fight all underwater creatures, even if the hunter is out of melee range.
    * Ancient Hysteria should not able to affect low-level characters.
    * Ancient Hysteria now correctly affects pets.
    * Embrace of the Shale Spider now provides resistances so that those resistances are not lost if this buff overwrites Blessing of Forgotten Kings.
    * Ferocity-category pets in the dog and fox families now have access to the pet talent Charge.
    * Mobility can correctly be learned by land-based hunter pets.
    * Ravage no longer counts toward stun diminishing returns.
    * Undead hunters now start with Revive Pet on the action bar.
    * The pet Spellbook entry for Serpent Swiftness now shows its rank.
    * Shale Spiders are no longer missing a special ability.
    * The Shell Shield (Terrorpene) visual has been enlarged and should now be seen when cast.
    * The tooltip for the armor value in the Character pane should now be showing the correct amount of armor granted to pets.

Loving the MM buffs but a bit sad about the survival nerfs. Been a survival hunter since wotlk. Come cataclysm, it was the best all-round spec for me, great single target dps and aoe.

Now I have to switch between MM and SV just to remain competitive in different fights. whistling.gif

10% mana cost increase to Holy Paladin heals. Guess I better force them groups to CC more then...

On the other hand, PW:Shield can actually take more than 1 hit before popping! Woot!

mostly doing heroics without CC nowadays when i am tanking LOL...
heroics starting to be ez mode >.<

the latest 5% buff per pug would make it even worst...
