custom made vs ready made...the price will differ alot for the same design n quality?

i got mine quoted RM1,800 for a 8feet TV console~

that is RM225 per feet, inclusive of wall back panel~

I see many seller post their design. Please state the measurement and price too. Many will be interested to know.

Thinking of the pro and cons of Custom TV Cabinet and off the shelves. looking at Rozel's TV Cabinet at the moment and are weighing the option with a custom built in cabinet. Need some comments here

1. Cost - It is assumed that the price diffrence of custom made is higher, generally how much higher if compared to the TV cabinet from Rozel?
So far rozel table cost approx RM1500 - 2000.


2. Quality - Is the custom built cabinet is as solid as Rozel table?


3. Design - the feature wall at the back - what are the pro and cons?,
I can think
Custom, - look nice but cant move around, TV can hang from the wall.
Table - no cool design but can move around, TV have to stand on table.

Using market rate (I think) custom is about RM 300 per foot run. This was my price last year using plywood.

1. If the rozel table is about Rm1500 - Rm2000, then the custom made price will be about the same unless you are choosing fancy design with better material.
2. Quality wise, ready made Rozel table will be more solid.
3. Feature wall looks more classy and also can use to hide the cabling and also put the T5 for lighting effect.
4. You can also hang the TV to the wall even if you are using ready made Rozel table. Unless you can see messy cabling around or the PVC conduit

If only the table top, without the back panel, it's possible.
but is for carpenter price, not ID price

Tv Console only? or plus the back panel dy?

Console only. Back panel not sure. Mine is custom made, is simple design but can't find it here in Malaysia. Is free standing, movable, the design is such it won't see any cable from outside or front.

Multimedia wall cabinet conceals TV in a sliding door


I think I saw something almost similar in XZQT in 1Utama, but very pricey.

Doesn't it obstruct your view to the TV? When your eye focus on the TV, does the white board too. The black and white is too contrast.

With this cabinet, the sofa may need to be a little further, otherwise my head would have to tilt a little higherand cannot slouch pulak...not comfortable..and if we install the whole cabinet lower would it look funny? Like the top looks empty and need to install more shelving unit

Oh, just to share different kind of design only. Although I never see in typical furniture shop.
The one I saw before actually all black and even more minimalist.
Just wondering any seller want to post up something similar that they sell.

below 2k u need to buy from furniture shop or ikea or diy..custom made is not cheap
