thats easy smile.gif
G500: 5600 dpi, free scroll button, weight adjustment, a bit bigger than g400
G400: 3600 dpi, 8 programmable button (software download from logitech website), lovely design like MX518 only the colour is different. if you don't have that much money just go for G400. if you want a lot of progammable buttons buy G300.If u are rich and want wireless go G700. rclxms.gif

less feature > less hardware part > less problem to deal with > QC easier.

should have say, QC is easier in the old days since hardware inside has larger component and easier to check with.

Current hardware are getting smaller and smaller, due to market demand for compact size moue and more accurate sensor/efficiency. QC has become harder and harder.

Just my speculations, or another excuse for having poor QC control, i may be wrong thou. just saying out my POV.

if search at google Optical VS Laser , almost 90% saying laser is good , because it can using at almost any surface include glasses.

But for gamer , who want to play on glasses surface right? Everyone will owning a mousepad that suit them right?

Added on January 2, 2012, 3:08 pm1 more question , cloth type mousepad vs harder , which more suitable for like Counter-strike or bf3 gamer?

Due to variety & stiff competition plus price-war, most manufacturer tend to less emphasize on QC itself to cut budget or allocate them in marketing side which is more efficient to boost up sale

Based on my experience, QC for Logitech products still best compare to other gaming products like Razer, SteelSeries, Roccat, CM Storm ect

If you are selling this brands, based on RMA/Warranty rate, Logitech is my lowest % for product return smile.gif

It's depend on user's preference. Basically I prefer cloth over hard-surface smile.gif
