Matlan made his name after scoring twice against England, in a friendly which we lost 4-2. If we play England today we'd probably be whacked 5-0.

Dude... Considering that Man Utd > England, and we put up a good fight against them, I think we'd do well against those overpaid/overated English prima donnas...

well we cant deny that the quality of the english players have, and not only them but those big Europe country or Brazil, argentina etc (u get my point) they can even beat us even if their team chemistry isnt at top level. However what i would see if they are playing those country, is that the players must show that we dont fear them just because of their big names. coz when u fear, all you do is clear the ball and ruin your game plan. Just like against MU even though not the best team, they dont fear the MU players (and to be honest thats the first time i am impressed with the country's performance). and as evident, even if we lose, the scoreline is such a respectable one. Remember the 6-0 thrashing about 10 years ago? that one Barthez play left wing doh.gif Therefore i believe with the confidence the players shown recently, it wouldnt be a whacking, maybe an upset can also happen! (their players slack of coz of friendly etc).

Yup you guys are right. Think I spoke/typed too fast - was too caught up in the good old glory days!

I'm not knocking our current national team; I think they did extremely well in the AFF. Just like to see them get tested against the bigger teams first before going overboard with how we can now be a good a match for every other country.

And yes - I'm still quite sore at how MU played our boys around in that 6-0 game. Can't be happier to see a much closer game recently.

I'm ok with Dato' Hasbullah Awang, but sometime his co-commentator botch few line or make it sound like street talk (usually the former player).

finding a commentator with local footbal passion and knowledge complete with radio friendly voice and presentation is very tricky..

the Englishman are born with radio friendly voice and presentation, so they just need to pick an ex player who knows what there are talking about and they are good to go. Commentary are among the main reason why EPL broadcast are more delightful than other foreign league programme IMO..

most BM commentators has an annoying voice tone on air... like the old Radio Klasik model... what we need is Radio Era level of radio station revolution to the local football match commentatory...

Rizal Hashim for me has a smoothing radio friendly voice..
