whoyoh..thx..terence
is the placement of the speakers is important to get the best surround sound? izzit better to spread the speakers? for example left front speakers to the very left and the right front speakers to the very right corner of the room that kinda thing..
anymore z680 users wanna show of their z680 or z5500 speaker arrangements?  thumbup.gif  rolleyes.gif
*
yes, its extremely important, though not vital.

yup...placement is very important...u can hear the sound surround from all the satellites..especially the bullet sound..tongue.gif

when u watch "the gudge" phew...bleady "itchy sound" came from behind [rear left & rear right] i shouted so loud!!! phew for crying out loud for tat!! tongue.gif

so try to play around the satellites n get a best surround from it...enjoy bro~
*
your rear sats are so close to each other... and so are the front ones too... sweat.gif

so it means is better to place the speaker far appart la?
actually one newbie question, u guys sure notice when u watch movies or listen to songs, the woofer produce powerful bass that will eventually shakes everything? for example it vibrates glass panels? want to ask a stupid question, will the vibration cause the house to collapse or crack in the long run? sorry for asking this, just curious..  blush.gif  sweat.gif
*
yes. the further the better, though there is a limit before the field of sound -or whetever they call it- collapses and spoils the surround sound effects.

it wont... ive asked this before... one interesting thing to note is the houses next to the railway... the train rumbles down and those houses are still with us today biggrin.gif

reason?too many satellites la 5.1 ..so i wanna try 2.1 system before i transfer my 5300 to my home theatre tongue.gif

hey guys
izzit normal for center speaker to be the loudest among all 4 satelites? somehow my settings seems to have my rear speakers (left & right ) louder than my front? izzit normal or can set wan.. sorry la just bought the speaker ma.. wanna learn how to utilize it properly..
*
it depends. if its movies like star wars episode II/whatever, audio conversations come through the center speaker while music through the rest. it its music youre listening to, then i have no idea. however, id suggest using only the front left and front right speakers for music.

music at front speakers? y ar? is there anything wrong listening together with rear speakers as well? sorry please be patient with me.. hehe.. cause u c im using a built in soundcard on my p4p800e deluxe, saving to get either x-fi or a2 zs.
*
music should always be played with only the front left and front right speakers because playing music through lots of speakers creates extra noise and normally upmixes [wheter from the speaker or the audio chip's driver] and stuff like that spoils the sound quality. you have a 680 there, im sure two sats are already more than enough to fill your room/area with music laugh.gif

more than enough varies between individuals. x-fi is for enthusiasts. it has superior capabilities in gaming. i still havent got the lowdown on how it actually sounds compared to an A2. people are still argueing about the 'other' stuff.

well for a newbie like me, what u think i should go for? cause actually purchased a z680 is mainly for music and dvds. games not so much already.. and i notice that x-fi cards have 4 holes at the back while A2 has 7 holes. read bout it but is kinda confusing.. oh btw silon, do u mind posting ur speaker placements?  thx sweat.gif  thumbup.gif

but mine is 7.1, not 5.1 unsure.gif

Good Question silon..!!  biggrin.gif

Act i got enough money to get Z5500...but i though it again...Iz possible to upgrade Z680 to Z5500 for extra rm 500 bucks? just for the Control pad [ i luv it very much]  rolleyes.gif

Or i should move to Creative gigaworks, so i can place all around my room..tongue.gif coz is 7.1 but i think it again....[forget about the creative volume pad] do i necessary need 7.1 so powerful which cost rm 1.9k? [i can get a panasonic HT system instead]

I'll definitely get something when im back to m'sia either Z5500 [hopefully price drop] or creative gigaworks.. whistling.gif

By the way..[silon] can u post yor placinng as well...so i can know more about the 7.1 placement...n how pretty is yor "Baby speakers" looks in real world...

p/s: I will sell my z680 coz the postage to m'sia is not worth it ..might as well get a new Z680 for the total cost which include postage..tongue.gif cool.gif
*
7.1 or not, it would surely sound better than the z5500. and im still very doubtful that HT systems at the same price would sound better because with HT, it aint just the speakers... you also buy the amp and other stuff. i havent heard of HT systems at this price so i can only speculate whistling.gif

these are the best my camera*phone* can do:

Table not Big enough sweat.gif  whaa...
Y not u drill a hole on your wall n mount it all 4 sats above? thumbup.gif

for a price tag at rm1800....might consider many average HT sustem. (song &panasic ) IMO

How about the sound quality wise? better then Z5500? i can't try comparing here. No shops offer Cretive GIGIAWORS =such a high end product= [sorry for the caps]  biggrin.gif

what about the bass? boomy? generally speaking..i would like to know your opinion about comparing therse 2 speakers..s750 & Z5500 in price and performance.  biggrin.gif

Thanks bro thumbup.gif
*
i never heard the 5500 before, i cant comment sweat.gif

when i was reading reviews of the gigaworks and in forums, the comparison is always between the gigaworks, klipsch PMU and the 5500. the 5500 always also get KO early in the comparison liao... always the grand fight is between the PMU and gigaworks. since the price of the 5500 is so close to the gigaworks, i thought id get the gigaworks instead and so i didnt bother about the 5500 sweat.gif

hmmmmm id suggest waiting a little longer regarding the control pod issue for revision As. wait for them to run out of stock on the z680s. see what they'll do thumbup.gif

when they discontinued the MX700 mouse [it was faulty, i can quarantee that. ive had 2 MX700s giving problems] and i sent it for RMA, an MX1000 poped thumbup.gif

i'll easily forgive logitech for making faulty mx700s... laugh.gif

vickyrao, i dont know if it was you who mentioned this is a rented room and you cant put nails on the walls [someone said this a few pages back, not sure wheter its you] but if your floor plan is accurate, then there should be enough space to swap the bed and the comp table, putting the comp table directly infront of your cupboard. theres a curtain there, i suppose you could leave slight spaces on the sides open for the speaker's [or maybe you can cut the curtains open to let the sound come out whistling.gif]

this would make an already small room very cramped, but at least you could use the 2 sats of yours.

"I don't know where to start. These speakers are just amazing, the clarity this speaker set delivered was unmatched. Even the Logitech Z-680s could not compete with the Z-5500s. Both sets are incredibly loud and offer superior bass than anything I've owned before and yes, I've even owned Klipsch and Bose Speakers. The control over the surround effects was also impressive, turning my room into a venue many times bigger with a twist of the control knob on the Surround option."

ill bet he didnt have a chance to toy with the klipsch PMU laugh.gif

90% of the reviews ive read about the klipsch PMU says that it beats the 5500's sub flat out. most of the sites that review the PMU says its the best multimedia sub around.

hi silon sorry to quote your msg>:)

bty im abit loss on what u said as above. "these" speakers refer to ? PMU?
U mean u sole your gigaworks and got PMU?

So in conclusion Z5500 really out in multimedia speakers nor gigaworks as well?
Is z680 really sucks? [sorry z680 user , no offend] just making some parts clear b4 i get something ... smile.gif

Thanks~  biggrin.gif
*
i didnt say 'these' in any phrase, where did i say it? huh.gif

no, 90% of the time reviewers agree that the klipsch PMU's sub is the best of all mutimedia speakers around. the fact that this review says that its better than speakers from 'klipsch' makes me doubt wheter he has heard the PMU's sub.
