dhouseng, thanks for the pics it looks like logitech has basically 'chopped' their name all over, i dont think you can see more info anyway, but hey, those are good pics! you should try contacting MCL or logitech and asking for options. if youre sure that its the driver that has been killed, then perhaps you can ask them wheter you can replace JUST the driver. if cant, then you might have no choice but to change the entire sub. i think the amp is also built into the sub, right? if so, you might have to be paying for nothing... or if its the amp that is the problem, maybe you can ask them if you could just buy the amp. good luck and happy hunting!

does hte z680 and 5500 support analogue input?
i mean, can we get an A2zs and use its DAC to convert audio and then feed it to the z680/5500?

so, the only way to make good use of the A2 or any other soundcard when paired with the z680/5500 is to feed it with analogue signals, right?
if this is the case, then someone who upgrades from one card/chip to another while using digital the whole time is essentially wasting his money?

QUOTE(AlamakLor @ Nov 12 2005, 02:46 AM) if you read my updated FAQ on sound card, you;d be able to answer that question yourself. Assuming that the gigaworks is better than the z5500, and I already have the zS, I'd just get the gigaworks to pair with it. If I did not have the ZS, but only onboard/av710, and don't wanna spend too much on the speaker, I'd get the Z5500. Yes, basically if you buy a freaking expensive card, e.g. "whatever sound blaster" Platinum Pro...zzzZzZzzZ and conect the card to a Z5500/680/whatever speaker with built in decoder, you are virtually not using the sound card and yes....throwing money down the drain without even knowing it. That is of coz we are assuming that the card's DAC is better than the external DAC. If someone wants a good card to passthrough the digital signal to an external DAC, the RM100 AV710 does the work just fine. yea, i read your excellent FAQ on scards before i asked the questions. i wanted to confirm this... since there is no harm asking, righ?

QUOTE(terencetoo @ Jan 24 2006, 07:33 AM) whaa generally giga cost rm 300 extra for 2 sets.. i generally perfer z5500 due to the LCd pannel~ cool IMO and better sound quality QUOTE(jerren @ Jan 26 2006, 09:43 AM) hi guys, for your information, i own a Z5500 and my dad has S750. i try to listen to both speaker connected at the same set [S750] placing each of the speakers at my left & right ear [and the other way round] the result is not much different, the treble of S750 Speaker is a little bit nicer than Z5500 speaker BUT ONLY NOTICED when i place the speaker next to my ears, when there's a distant between, the sound is the same... if compare between S750 set and Z5500 Set, [i mean the whole system], S750 has advantage in the treble and Z5500's advantage is Bass. in the situation that connected them to a PC, the treble won't be an issue bc can tune using equaliser but when using them as home theater [connecting to a DVD player] S750 has the advantage over Z5500... well, many would question which has the better bass and i think enthusiast will already know which has the better bass

im not suprised they would actually do something like this. i had an mx700 mouse and [it is a known problem] the charging capability would degrade over time. i sent it in and got an mx1000. im not the only one to get a free mx1000 either
