so it means is better to place the speaker far appart la?
actually one newbie question, u guys sure notice when u watch movies or listen to songs, the woofer produce powerful bass that will eventually shakes everything? for example it vibrates glass panels? want to ask a stupid question, will the vibration cause the house to collapse or crack in the long run? sorry for asking this, just curious..  blush.gif  sweat.gif
*
yes. the further the better, though there is a limit before the field of sound -or whetever they call it- collapses and spoils the surround sound effects.

it wont... ive asked this before... one interesting thing to note is the houses next to the railway... the train rumbles down and those houses are still with us today biggrin.gif

it depends. if its movies like star wars episode II/whatever, audio conversations come through the center speaker while music through the rest. it its music youre listening to, then i have no idea. however, id suggest using only the front left and front right speakers for music.

music should always be played with only the front left and front right speakers because playing music through lots of speakers creates extra noise and normally upmixes [wheter from the speaker or the audio chip's driver] and stuff like that spoils the sound quality. you have a 680 there, im sure two sats are already more than enough to fill your room/area with music laugh.gif

just got my z680
anyone can brief me on speaker settings?
such as subwoofer volume, satelite volume.. that kinda stuff?
thx
*
This is my setting:

For music
======
Subwoofer: _|_ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __
Volume: __ __ __ |__ __ __ __ __ __
Center: __ __ __ __ __ __ _|_ __ __
Surround: __ __ __ __ _|_ __ __ __ __

For dvd movie/games
==============
Subwoofer: __ __ __ |__ __ __ __ __ __
Volume: __ __ __ |__ __ __ __ __ __
Center: __ __ __ __ __ __ _|_ __ __
Surround: __ __ __ __ _|_ __ __ __ __

The reason why i turn subwoofer level so low for MUSIC is that the bass too much boomy. smile.gif

my system don't have any distortion or interfereces, nothing at all!!
maybe it's because I'm using Digital Coax from my Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1 and not Audigy 2 ZS...
